New Leaf Warranty Lousy
- - Danby 2-door cooler failed after 2 years; motherboard quit.
- - NewLeaf repaired 3 months; offered a different unit.
- - Warranty not like-for-like.
Purchased Danby 2 door wine cooler from Beverage Factory and purchased their offered warranty. After 2 years mother board quit.
New Leaf sent a repair person out, and after 3 months and 2 attempts to fix, they said they would only replace with a different unit. I purchased Danby because the unit was to be installed against a right wall and Danby door opened easily to pull shelves out. I purchased the warranty for my Danby and expected to get either fixed or replaced with same. I argued about right door issue but they wouldn't budge and they said I could not have Danby and would only give me an Allavino VSWB-2 or a small cash out (less than 50% of what I paid).
Right side door on Allavino hits wall because it has to be open more than 80 degrees in order to pull shelves out. The rubber on door hangs up sliders so you can't pull the tray out to get to wine bottle.
Although Beverage Factory did try to resolve some of my issues, the bottom line is that I got a new unit that won't fit, and purchased a warranty that is useless if you want a replacement same as you had. Stay away from NewLeaf warranty if you buy on line....it's worthless!!
Defective product and poor service
- - Unit powers on, but the compressor won't cool.
- - Rep says dead on arrival; options: refund or replacement.
- - No local warranty providers; follow-up is poor.
The unit I received does not operate. The unit powers on, but the compressor does not cool.
I contacted Beverage Factory right away, and the representative said it was probably what they call "dead on arrival." The fact that service reps have a term for this tells me that it probably happens a lot. I gave the benefit of the doubt and asked that they provide in home repair service, as outlined in the product manual. It has now been more than a week, with daily calls to the call center. Each time, they tell me they are searching for a repair unit in my area, meaning the don't really have warranty service providers in my region.
When I've asked to speak to a supervisor, I am told they "stepped away" from their desk. On a few occasions, the rep I have been dealing with has not returned calls to me directly, or sent e-mails, despite indicating that she would. This is an incredibly frustrating process for an expensive unit. I get the sense that no one really cares to resolve the issue with any sense of urgency.
Now I'm faced with an option of returning the unit for a refund, having a replacement sent (I've already been told they will not cover expedited shipping), or waiting for them to "find" a repair service provider. This has been a really poor customer experience, and I can't see myself recommending the products or service to anyone unless this is resolved promptly.
Beverage Factory.com
- - LED failed on first unit within 90 days; replaced.
- - Second unit failed within 30 days; LED failed.
- - Vinotemp says only the first unit had 90 days.
I bought a Vinotemp from Beveragefactory.com and the LED went out within the first 90 days. They did replace the unit.
Within 30 days, the LED on the second unit went out as well as the cooling element. I contacted Vinotemp and they indicated that only the 1st unit had a 90 day warranty. So, basically, they could replace my unit with a faulty unit without any recourse on my part.
I contacted beveragefactory.com and they said it was a manufacturer's issue.
So, I have a broken wine refrigerator sitting in my garage. These are sold all over the country at Targets and they don't stand behind their product, obviously.

You are not the only one that has had this problem with them. They have given me two appliance guys to call and both told me they have not done business with them in years and won't.
They have indicated that what they sell is "cheap ***".
Very frustrating and I also would not ever do business with them again.
I am pretty mad given the amount of money I spent for this unit and I have not gotten a year out of it. Stay away from Allavino and Beverage factory!
