The G M acted like he is doing you a favor selling you a car. Never again.
I went to the dealership on 06/12/17 to look and possibly buy a new Impreza.I told the salesman I had been to Premier Subaru already and had gotten a price. The salesman said he could beat it by $200 and went to talk to the G. M . The G . M came back and said in the 6 years he had worked there Premier has only beaten he price twice and never by this much, he was with out saying calling me a liar. I went back to Premier the next day and bought the car for what I told him and proved some times the big dealer does not have the best price. Salesman was great G.M was rude and should be replaced.
Reason of review:
Pricing issue

Horrible Dealership!!!
We got to the dealer and were greeted by a salesman named Sid... We test drive the car and go over the numbers but cannot get approved since banks are closed(sunday)He is were the trouble starts. I see another customer complaining to the GM about how dishonest her salesman is etc... Not a good sign..Then on top of seeing that going on. They tell us to run the credit they need a credit card deposit? I have never in my 20 Years with over 25 car purchases have been asked for a credit card deposit just for them to run the credit... .... We come back next day and go over car a bit to make sure I did not miss anything since it was for my sibling and I wanted a safe car for her. They claimed it was a clean carfax, yet that second day I found It was a accident in numerous locations. Once I bring that up the salesman tries to pressure us with a arrogant attitude whether we are taking it or not. I told him we were deciding.. So after I find all these issues that I did not notice the first day. I decided it would be better to come back the next day to have a pre purchase inspection done on the car. We come back the next day and decide that we know its been hit but we will not take it somewhere to get the PPI. So I decide to check it over once more to be safe... I look in the wheel well and notice a large bolt missing from one side. So I ask that they replace it when the car is going to be brought in for some interior repairs per our agreement for purchasing the car... We get to the finance manager and start going over the different payments with or without the aftermarket warranty that they were trying to sell so hard.... Almost finished and then I find something odd on the screen. Vin etch fee for $199... which many dealers do.. But you can deny it.. They put it in the price and would not take it off. They were forcing it on us and when I complained the GM comes in and say we agreed to for that price. I said we agreed to that price but not with vin etch which is a *** dealer add on that I would never buy.. So I asked him if he is willing to ruin the deal for $199 and he said If I am. I replied yes because Its the principle and the whole experience has been not smooth to say the least. So they refund the deposit we had leave... I have never in my life been treated so poorly at a dealership.... The salesman was the most arrogant *** know it all ... Whenever I had a complaint or question It seemed to bother him since I knew so much. To say the least I am shocked by their business practices.

Complete and total liars. Bertera Subaru of Hartford, CT
First off, Let me preface this by saying I'm in the business. So it is with a heavy heart that I actually have to write this review. The sales and more importantly the finance staff at Bertera Subaru are complete liars. I sent my friend in to purchase a car, that I did the entire deal for her. I even obtained the approval and know the rate. Her payment was to be $32X a month. for 72 months @ no higher than 3.9. Now mind you I got her a 3.24% rate from Wells Fargo and I was letting the F&I manager make .66% of interest on a $20000 loan. Doesn't amount to much, but its better than making only a 200 flat on the loan. She gets there, the bank is Fifth third, the rate is 2 points higher than it should be. They lied and changed the application apparently to get a "counter offer" through wells fargo so they could use a different bank and try to make "interest" points on her. She walked in the office to a $500 and change payment first off. Which was a blatant shot at a young girl. Then they like a "miracle" drop the payment to 389, really? You mean you had over $4500 in profit in there that miraculously dissapeared once I told her to leave? Hmmmm. So, I tell her to leave and they want to "work a deal" Sorry friends, the bad taste is already in my mouth and you gentleman can have a nice day. For the record, I called the F&I Manager a *** bag and he heard me. I'm glad.

Do NOT buy from them. They violate the law and try to keep any deposit you give them and try to force you to use it on another vehicle!
STAY AWAY. CROOKED DEALERSHIP
Tires for life program was a great selling point for when I bought a used Jeep Wrangler from Bertera Subaru of Hartford. When it broke only days after the 30 day warranty they refused to fix my vehicle.
This then forces me to void the tires for life program.
The general manager, David Taylor, suggested that I contact the Better Business Bureau, so I did.
They are a bunch of crooks hidden behind the Subaru name.
This place is full of crooks dealer said car was clean carfax says it's been in 3 accidents
I purchased a car from Bertera and brought it back to them twice WITHIN 30 days. Each time they said nothing was wrong with it and told me to bring it to Toyota, "they would say the same thing". So I brought it to Toyota and at the time I brought it to them it went over 30 days. It turns out the car needed a new engine.
I was stuck dealing with a lawyer for a year and had to get another reliable car to drive in the mean time. After a year of dealing with a lawyer I only got $1000 while the new engine cost me $6000. I had to save up enough money to replace the engine and at the same time pay two car payments and insurance on both cars.
Another year went by and I was still not able to sell the car by itself so I had to trade both of my cars in for one car. Now, years later I'm basically still paying for two cars due to all of the negative equity, and will be until my car is paid off.
Do not buy from Bertera, they ruined my life.
I just bought my second subaru with my husband there and never experienced anything of the sort. The fact that you would resort to name calling just reflects your character and if you are a businessman you must not be top notch.
I definitely would recommend them to anyone looking to feel more like a person than just a sale. I have gone there for my first service just recently and they still stop and talk to me.
Also, I cant seem to find any other bad reviews on them. Maybe it was a misunderstanding coupled with a bad customer attitude.
Dealership doesn't want anything to do with you after you sign the papers. Stay away!
