Bertera of West Springfield escalated
- - The dashboard was damaged while fixing a passenger air bag.
- - GM Sean dismissed the issue, offered no solutions, and showed no empathy or listening.
This location hacked up my dadhboard while fixing a passenger air bag. After escalating this to the GM, Sean, he proceeded to dismiss my problem.
This is, in my opinion, because my car is a 2005 legacy; they wanted to sell me a new one. My complaints were dismissed; no empathy. No regard for the 2x vehicles we planned to buy this november. Nothing.
The GM treated me like the ex wife that threw him out. He offered no solutions.
He raised his voice to me. Je did not listen.
Took the care the Bertera dealership for a tire light on to repair a driver's side mirror.
- - Tire pressure light led to proper tire inflation.
- - Unauthorized 25-point inspection occurred.
- - Mirror: $42 plastic piece; $540 assembly; brakes noted.
I told 3 staff what I wanted: 1. Fix : A tire light that went on my dashboard.
I told them the light was for Tire Pressure. After 3 hours I found out they filled the tires to the right pressure. They also did a 25 point inspection that I didn't authorize. I had one done last month.
The girl that helps w/ the appointments stated "We do that for everyone." The manager said well they did the work. I stated I didn't authorize it. I was never told this nor did they come out and ask me for permission for the testing. I feel I should be paid $104.00 for the test b/c I didn't authorize it.
I also wasn't shown the inspection. I read it after I left. Then I wasn't told and the end of the 3 hour ordeal, that in the inspection they found the back brakes need to be replaced and that I shouldn't drive the care. THEY NEVER TOLD ME!
They also wrote on the inspection that I refused to have the work done. I NEVER KNEW ABOUT It AND THEREFORE COULDN'T RESPOND to them that I would have done this repair. The issue with the Driver's Side Mirror: A car hit me on the street. 1 piece of the lower part of the posterior mirror was missing.
The mirror assembly was working. After a 3 hour wait they told me it would be $540.00 for a full assembly. I said I only need a 8 inch piece of plastic. for the bottom posterior mirror.
They charged me $42.00 for a thin piece of plastic. a small piece of plastic that goes around the mirror on the inside if the mirror was damage. I asked if I could buy this piece. The said I would have to buy an assembly only.
Again I said I only need the 8 inch piece of plastic for the posterior driver's side mirror. That was the reason I declined service.
I didn't decline the brake repair i didn't know about it. Thanks Eileen Breen

Preferred solution: Full refund
They told me I needed a $540.00 driver's side mirror when I needed a $2.00 piece of plastic that they charged me $42.00. I had a tire light on. They did a 25 point inspection I didn't authorize
- - Quoted $540 for the mirror; only a plastic piece needed.
- - I waited 3 hours; the mirror wasn't fixed.
- - Charged $104 for unauthorized 25-point inspection.
The dealer told me I needed a $540.00 driver's side mirror when I needed a small piece of plastic on the outside of the mirror. I had an appointment.
they left me waiting for 3 hours and they came out after 3 hours not fixing the mirror. Then charged me $104.00 for a 25 point inspection I didn't authorize. I had one done 1 month prior. It cost me $104.00 for the inspection.
Then, they didn't tell me I had a brake issue. They didn't show me the inspection just handed it to me with other paperwork. I saw it on the inspection form after I left the dealer. I tried to call the dealer management and the person who answered the phone refused to let me speak to a manager.
On the mirror: Why don't they make the inside plastic behind the mirror replaceable instead they want you to buy the whole mirror w/ full mechanism I didn't need.
$42.00 is a ridiculous amount of money to pay for a $2.00 piece of plastic. I fixed the mirror in their parking lot!
Preferred solution: Refund on 25 point inspection. Also want the brakes fixed that they didn't tell me about. Full disclosure what the cost will be within 1/2 HR of receiving my car. Also If you know it's going to be a longer time to fix something tell the customer .
BERTERA SUBARU are liars !! Salesman make empty promises !!
- - Promised repairs for seat knobs were not honored.
- - Not inspected before sale; tires bald and oil not changed; transmission problem.
Bought 2005 Outback wagon in end of October. I was initially pleased with the deal, the salesmen (2 actually worked with me) and the finance manager.
Problems began when I was promised certain malfunctioning items in the car were going to be repaired/replaced. In particular, the power seat controls on the passenger seat. Knobs were broken off and at time of purchase I was promised by salesman "don't worry Mr. ****s, We'll take care of that for you".
Knobs were ordered and arrived but when I went back for the fix I was told they were going to charge me over $300 !! I explained to the service manager these were items promised at time of purchase to be fixed but all they say now is that it is out of warranty and I have to pay for them. So they basically sold a car with malfunctioning parts. Totally unprofessional.
i have also discovered since that the vehicle was never even inspected before it was sold.
Tires were bald and needed replacing after 30 days, oil had not been changed and now I have a transmission problem. DO NOT GO HERE !!!

That's why they gave you the form.
They quite correctly surmised that you can read.
