Homophobia and HIV phobia
- - After 8 years with Bendigo Bank in Avoca, my account was closed this week without warning on pension day; I lodged a complaint with head office.
After having a banking relationship with Bendigo Bank in Avoca, Victoria, Australia for 8 years, I chose this bank thinking it was a positive, country-friendly bank, but I was mistaken. I had my bank account closed by them this week simply because I supposedly had the audacity to request a bank loan and also to demand my own money from the bank, while filming them with my mobile phone.
I explained that I didn't care for their homophobia or HIV-phobia because I've been HIV-positive since I was 15 years old; I'm now 52 years old. The Bendigo Bank branch in Avoca, Victoria, Australia is absolutely appalling. The workers there are scared 'rednecks' who are afraid of gay men with long-term HIV in 2024-****. I've lodged a complaint with their head office.
They closed my account last week, on the day I was supposed to receive my pension, without any warning or consent. I didn't even get a letter in the mail.
This bank is absolutely abhorrent. Homophobia was boring in 1724, but it's alive and well in Avoca, Victoria at the Bendigo Bank of Adelaide.

Nothing has happened. Worst bank I have ever dealt with in my life. All good my mum has opened an account with another bank and will be closing her accounts with Bendigo.
My mother wanted to withdraw some of her money for renovations.
After a grilling last week she was told to come back on Tuesday to collect the money as they had to order it in.
I took her there today as it was a large amount and she was nervous to collect it on her own.
When we arrived they took her into a room and questioned her thinking I was trying to scam her money from her.
She explained what it was for and after a long wait she asked me to take her home.
I could see she was getting stressed as she is elderly and could not understand why the didnt want to give her the money.
When we were leaving the lady came out of the office. I told her is the money here or not. I was told no we didnt order it.
So this has created a lot of stress for my mother and I have to deal with it now.
Got a phone call from the manager of the bank and a simple apology was given but still no money.
If you are elderly and deal with this bank be sure you have a power of attorney because your money is not yours.
DO NOT USE THIS BANK !!!

Ive been with this bank for almost 20 years, and in the recent months they have completely failed with their customer service. They have dropped the ball when it comes to helping with transaction disputes and now they have allowed a retailer to take money out of my account without any warning.
After 20 years I am changing banks.
Awful. Your loss Bendigo Bank.

My Bank account has been hacked into twice this year. The latest one was only 2 weeks ago but, I found out just today that Bendigo Bank could have stopped over $100 from being taken out of my account!
- - Scammers have accessed accounts; second scam this year.
- - No updates from Bendigo Bank's fraud team.

I highly recommend not to bank with Bendigo Bank as scammers are very successful at getting into their accounts. This is the second time that I have been scammed this year and I haven't even had any updates or replies from the Bendigo Bank fraud team at all.
I am absolutely disgusted with their effort. Now Bendigo Bank have said to me that I need to get a new phone!!! Guess what? This is a new phone!!!
I will be changing banks. This is an absolute disgrace.

Ok guest I'm not the only person who doesn't like the bank because the bank is tiny and claustrophobic. Also I have every right to record them refusing to give me my money. I think you are just homophobic just like them.

Bendigo Bank has really bad service and is constantly down on the Bendigo Bank app... The app goes down at least once or twice a week so there's that I guess guest guessing you are also homophobic af.
