Beckfield College

Im a current student. Absolutely a horrible school. Beyond unorganized, grading system unfair. You need a 78% to pass nursing classes, I had a 77 another student had a 73. She complained and acted like an animal. They manipulated the grade book and passed her. I've seen students cursung out staff and acting like high schooler. Students threatening staff and peers, and staff acting horrible. Their is a few great staff that are awesome but thats about it. Im holding my tongue until i graduate and then im transferring to get my bachelors.

Teachers read from a power point that’s it. Nobody has any answers to anything. It’s always let me check with such and such. They have small little fees throughout the entire program and some of you don’t pay you basically get punished. You even have to pay if you make honors if you want a cord at graduation. Joke of a school and a complete money scam!!

I am a single mother and was in the RN program at Beckfield College in Florence,KY. I failed my last class in nursing school by 0.21 points. Which unfortunately was the last class offered under this curriculum. So, I owe 34k in student loans and have no degree as a single mother who went to school to provide and take care of my son and I. Now with only having boards to take and role transition hours I am now frantically trying to contact any and all schools I can to try to find a way to get my degree without starting completely over. What is even more displeasing about this school is that as I cried to them they didn’t seem to care or have any desire to help me succeed. Telling them that having no options after taking all of the required classes and the last one failing and being told I’m sorry you would have to start over somewhere else as nursing credits don’t transfer and that’s it. Tell my son that while his mother struggles more than prior or during college to provide for him. Who also got little time during his mother’s schooling with his mom and watched her in a book for years. They were unorganized, never knew what clinical, class times were from quarter to quarter, they would change class days and times within a day or so of a new quarter changing then when any student struggled with the change would get defensive and tell us it’s our problem that we had our lives set up for a different schedule with work and or kids and now it’s changed. I too am getting legal counsel involved. Had I failed early in or did not take this degree serious I would take my failure and walk on but I didn’t I busted my butt passed every class but the final one by .21 points and they respond with I would not be successful as a nurse or taking boards over this failure in my last quarter. I am beside myself that this school wants acknowledgment for anything positive. They are a disorganized outrageously priced money hungry “school” who take every dollar you have or can borrow for an associates and could care less if you obtain a degree or not. This three year process has put my son and I in a very difficult place financially and mentally and emotionally destroyed me. This school was a terrible decision and I do not recommend anyone to go to this school.

I am a former student beckfield College I got my degree as a medical assistant and found that some teachers didn't know what they were doing but I had two in particular teachers that will totally awesome great and warm was it in their self at the school and talk she gave me all the help I need it took care of any issues and problems I had with the teacher or if I needed any help with classes she made sure I got the proper education I did not get a job as a medical assistance with my degree but no fault of theirs I got hired on at my externship site as a therapist and was rather comfortable with that no I just wasn't ready for all this stress that came with my job that I was trying to get as a medical assistant butt have been offered a job but did not take it I am now back in beckfield and roll and medical billing and coding with a degree the things I've been having problems with the online courses and not being able to get the help you need when you need it then you start feeling your classes and feeling stuck who struggle to catch up but you do but I still don't like the idea was doing online classes I am more of a face-to-face person to take classes and learn that way so this is been a little bit more of a different experience having more trouble and difficulty getting the help I want but it is what it is

Should have trusted my instincts. I chose Beckfield to continue my nursing degree (RN to BSN). From the beginning I knew something wasn't right. The program recruiter was more like a car salesman. She was fake fake and more fake. Everything she told me was sugar-coated just to get my signature. The application and financial aid process was so quick that it seemed like a scam. The programs are EXPENSIVE. The books are EXPENSIVE. I had no idea how expensive they were until I researched other programs. I, like many otheres, did not think I would get accepted to UC or any other well known school in the area, and if I did I thought there was no way I could pay for it. They use this to their advantage. They know that the majority of students that apply are adult learners, and most have been out of school for years. These students are eager to learn, but make the mistake of believing they can't get into a better school or that it will be too expensive. They give you a fancy folder and lots of paperwork to make you feel like you accomplished something. Once you get accepted and sign on that line, they have all they need. They put on a big act as they walk you to the exit so other prospects can observe the big fake "Congratulations!" They make you feel as if you already have your degree. Well you don't. But you sure as *** promised to pay for it though. They will tell you all day long that they are accredited. And indeed they are, but what they don't tell you is by what organization. I did a little research and found out something very interesting. "'Many of the commissioners on the Board of Directors serve as executives for the same for-profit schools the council issues accreditation.' The guys who run ACICS are execs at ACICS accredited schools. This is essentially no different than a tactic a lot of degree mills use to appear legitimate. Several ACICS schools have bad press, lawsuits, etc. often being found guilty of illegal practices. I was scammed (my opinion) for about $20,000 for less than a year..." Applying for accreditation does not guarantee that accreditation will be granted." Zero credits from Beckfield will transfer. The classes are small, the teachers are uneducated, the classes were so unorganized that I didn't know what was expected. I was very unhappy with the program. I ended up with bad grades, decreased attendance, and ended up having to withdraw. I had no sympathy and absolutely no refund. If you want to continue your education you will have to start over like I now have to. PLEASE do yourself a favor and do not give these scam artists ANY CHANCE to take your money.

I wanted to switch out of medical assisting to health info technology and the dean of allied health (former xray tech and lab tech, no med asst. experience or knowledge) said she would fight me and a lot of other students in the program to keep us in there. We got an AAS/MedAsst and it isn't worth the paper it is printed on. Can't get a job because I don't have the six months previous experience. Who will hire you to get the experience?? The class all got to review the old hag at the end of the term, just before graduation, letting them know how she did us. Guess who had to retire? From what I hear, hardly any of the instructors from my two years there are still at the college. I graduated in 2011 and still can't get a job in the field.

Do NOT trust Beckfield College. The classes are not regionally accredited. Which means any classes you take at Beckfield will not transfer to any other college. Do not trust their sales antics!

I am a current student and this school is so unprofessional . I have one other person in my class and I havent learned anything . Not to mention i think they are stealing money . I am getting legal help to look into this school! Do not sign up for Beckfield especially in Florence !

I graduated from the Personal Training program a year ago. No one calls me or tries to help me find a career. The gym I currently work at I found on my own. I am $11,000 in debt and don't even have a personal training certification. The most of the instructors are good but the staff are lazy and don't have much concern for you after you sign the financial paperwork. I had an issue with one instructor, he was inappropriate and made uncomfortable comments to me during class. I went to staff and the instructor was let go. This school is a joke. Don't waste your time.

I graduated from Beckfield in March 2015 with my associate degree in criminal justice. Im currently working as a security guard making 10 a hour, but i owe over 42000 in loans. Its a joke, a scam i was lied to when i enrolled on what i could do. They're worse then a used car salesman. Career services would send you stuff from indeed and careerbuilder things you can find on your own. Ill never be able to pay back my loans, i have so much stress and anxiety trying to figure out how in the world im going to repay my loans its ridiculous.

I am a nursing student currently and i am transferring to another school. they wait until the last minute to give you information for example our quarter started early October and we still haven't gotten our clinical sites yet, CLINICALS START TOMORROW. It's very frustrating when they don't have their *** together. we have to go all way to danville Kentucky for clinicals we didn't get our dates for that until last minute either and you have to pay 100% out of pcoket for it. since we didn't find out until last minute i only had 2 weeks to come up with the money. some people have to work through school, and if you do this definitely isn't the school for you. All of my clinical sites have been over an hour away, they don't keep track of any of their paper work and lost half my vaccines. its very frustrating to have to deal with people who don't know how to do their job.

I'm a current student in the nursing program at Beckfield College. I am totally dissatisfied with their clinicals.All my clinical experiences have been in Nursing homes. There are no hospital experiences. I've had one hospital experience. This is a cincinnati-based school and Florence, KY. They make us travel two states to Indiana just to get that one hospital clinical. There are so many hospitals here in Cincinnati . Something's wrong with this picture. They have a high turnover on staff the educators. So I'm totally dissatisfied with my experience and Beckkfield. Their nurse educators are certified to teach nursing assistants, especially not future nurses. Don't believe the hype!!!!

I am part of the computer network administration program and it is a complete waste of time and money. I have started to study for my certifications on my own because the school is useless. Instructors are incompetent and extremely rude, except one. I was told they were building a computer lab for all these hands on labs and that was bull.... It is a room that can hold at the most 4 people with a server in the back of the room. The server has been there for a year now and the instructors and dean, whom are teaching server classes, can not configure it correctly for the students to learn from or use. We have not touched it yet. They have an A+ class and you do not touch any hardware. They tell you, when you complain about the hands on, "It's supposed to be a virtual learning course." How do you have A+ and no hardware. I've tried to go to several other schools, Itt Tech, Devry, Cinci State, UC, etc and they all say the same thing, "We do not except ANY of Beckfield's credits. You tell the staff of your problems and they shrug their shoulders. Just be warned it is a useless school.

I was taking classes for the Criminal Justice Program and literally had a 21 y/o female in the middle of class right after a final exam tell me to go kill myself; out of nowhere not for any reason. I am a U.S. Military Veteran and verbally went off. The class instructor told me to quiet it down because she thought I was just having an military episode. I then told her that little explicit just told me to kill myself and the instructor asks me what I want her to do. You are an instructor; do your job. I left beckfield because they are beyond unprofessional and a waste of time, money and gi bill.
