Beachwalker Inn And Suites - Beachwalker Inn Cayucos Review from Citrus Heights, California
Our weekend stay at the Beachwalker Inn in Cayucos, Ca. was an interesting one.
Check in went well. Got a corner Queen Suite with Kitchenette on the second floor. First thing i noticed when entering the room besides the room painted in powder blue and bright red was a small flatscreen computer monitor (not even a tv) poorly mounted to the wall behind the front door. When door was open it blocked the tv.
Large front room window facing the ocean had white paint splattered all over it. Also the window slid open all the way. Something i was happy about because being in a second floor room, windows usually do not open all the way for safety reasons. And a added kicker the window was missing the screen.
The couch was in front of the window which could make it easy for a child "a climber" to fall out window. Did i mention the two story drop straight down to the concrete below. The heater fireplace did not work, neither did the wall heater which was barely attached to the wall. Kitchenette was disgusting.
Stovetop was greasy, counter top was dirty and cracked, all pots, pans, silverware were either oily or covered with old dried food. Also bits of old dried food and grease in drawers and cabinets. I was going to wipe the counter top off but no paper towel on holder. Going to bedroom.
Bed was a uncomfortable full size not a queen size. Windows dirty and more paint splatter. Smoke detector mount with no smoke detector and another small computer monitor as a tv. Only issue with bathroom was broken shower head.
Great!! I couldnt even wash the disgusting off of me. Oh and not enough parking spots. Sign says "additional parking in rear" which is two spots in the back alley which looked like the maids used to park there cars.
Had to park down street several times. Im not one to post reviews and this is my first one. I would just mark it down as a bad choice and move on, but i promised the manager/owner i would post this for him. I am a man of my word.
During this stay at the Beachwalker Inn, my wife and i went out for dinner. When we returned to our room at about 8:45pm the keycard would not unlock our door to the room. I went to the office to get it reactivated but office was locked and no one was at front desk. Rang doordell Knocked on every office door we could find, called office phone number and 800 number with no answer.
Office lights on, computer on and neon OPEN sign on. After a couple hours waiting and looking for staff, letting other people at Inn walking to office for extra towels or pillows that they out of luck, calling office, calling police, watching the police banging on doors and trying to find someone who worked at this place. While we all were wondering if there might be an employee hurt in a back office room or something the Manager or Owner pulls into the parking lot laughing asking us "whats going on..i went out for dinner. Police told him.."no, you abandoned your place of Business for 3 hours" I was pretty calm knowing that we can finally get in our room.
While getting our key reactivated my wife was letting him know how frustrated we were. He cut her off while talking and asked her where the other key was. My wife told him it was in our room because we were together and didnt need two keys. He told her "well it"s your own fault, you should have had the other key, thats what its for".
I went from tired and calm too almost jumping over the counter at this guy. Never got an apology or anything. We went to our room in shock at the lack of courtesy, empathy and customer service this place had. We packed and could not get out of there fast enough.
So i hope this review was helpful when looking for a place to stay in Cayucos, Ca.
