BBE, NATE, Barter Business Exchange and Lack of Ethics Morals

Who is there to help enforce the rules if your own barter exchange/company (NATE, BBE, NET, etc) will not help enforce them. What is the point of even having "Trading Policies & Procedures" if everyone can make up their own rules? What happens when a place like BBE fails from a customer relations stand point? After BBE failed to facilitate a deal, because a surgeon tried to unethically up his price 20%, I acting within my legal rights outside of representation of my wife's company posted my problems with this doctor's business ethics on a website that a person can post info about experiences, business encounters or feelings they have towards them, similar to websites like RIP-OFF REPORT and PISSED CONSUMER. This is a completely legal website and there are many of them that exist in which reviews on service or lack thereof have occurred. This is clearly freedom of speech, and just because someone doesn't like what is posted doesn't mean it has to be erased, Ed Maginnis. This doctor did not like this being published and made a big stink about it. So, the bottom line is that my wife's barter company (BBE of Cary/Raleigh) did not stand up for us when we were treated wrongly and rules were broken, but now that that doctor felt he has been treated wrongly his barter company has stood up for him and my wife's company is made out to be the bad guy, and only now they want to enforce rules on her. When BBE found out about me exercising his constitution right to freedom of speech, they asked me to stop and take the posting down which I AGAIN asked Maurya Lane and Elizabeth Powell at BBE to get the other barter exchange to enforce the trading policies. BBE refused again to do mediate or do anything, and I refused to remove the posting. Just like I am REFUSING to remove this posting. If you can't trust the people who you have a legal binding contract with, do you really want to become a member of BBE?

I shall look into who the other exchange was. Thanks!

with the other barter company, which they failed to even attempt to do. That is just the icing on the cake.

The truth about much deeper underlying issues will come out over time.

BBE set the deal up and the completely failed to attempt to even try to get involved with the people, who they set the deal up with. BBE was responsible for making sure all parties honor the system of INTER-agency trading since they set the deal up to begin with through the other agency.

Any company can enforce its own policies. When trade exchanges create relationships with other trade exchanges for the benefit of YOU the member, they can control what happens in their exchange but not in the other exchange.

BBE can only suggest that you not do business with the other person. Explain how BBE is going to punish someone who is not their member? BBE cannot fine them, close down their account or force them to give you a good price. It is the fault of the other exchange, not BBE.

You say in your complaint that the plastic surgeon was the member of another exchange. In good faith, BBE called on those other exchanges it has a reciprocal relationship with and found someone for your wife's plastic surgery. When you found out the surgeon overcharged, you did the right thing and informed your broker. Hopefully in the future BBE will be more careful in dealing with that other barter exchange, if at all.

But explain what BBE is supposed to do?

If the other company lacks in moral values and allows their members to overcharge, find out which association they belong to and complain there. Or list the name of the other, offending barter exchange.

BBE is also a member of the IRTA who more strictly enforces their ethical policies.Although there may not be anything they can do. But you can try at www.IRTA.com
