Nursing Staff Recovery and inpatient care

AI Highlights
  • - Recovery room nurse tore off heart monitor pads, leaving a half-dollar size bruise.
  • - Nurses were overwhelmed; pain meds arrived late.

I recently had surgery at Bayfront Dade City, the recovery room nurse was less then up to par per say, she actually tore off heart monitor pads that left a half dollar size bruise for 4 days. Then I went to the second floor to stay the night.

The nurses seem to be overwhelmed to say the least, waited at least 45 minutes past the time I was supposed to get my pain meds, every time I pressed the nurses button someone else came in to turn the light off and told me she was busy she'd be in asap. I had to wait 3 hours passed my discharge time due to the fact another patient was having heart problems and again way past getting pain meds administered. Then when I'd finally had enough, I was asked after having major surgery if I wanted to walk out of the hospital or have a wheel chair. Needless to say I wouldnt have made it to the door.

Would not recommend this hospital for anything. They also lie during pre-op when they tell you if you pay your bill in full today, they'll give you a 20% discount, expect to get a bill in the mail for 4 times the price you thought you had paid in full.
