Bay Vets Of Morecambe - Inexperienced and Negligent Veterinary Staff
I first took my cat to Bay Vets when he became ill, vomiting, diarroa, and loss of weight. He had a scan which showed a kidney stone and kidney deterioration. From there it was a roller coaster to keep him alive. Feeding him teaspoon by teaspoon, changing to recommended special dietary foods from Royal Canin, Reiki and lots of loving care, took 4 months before kidney stone released. However he still vomited and had bloody diarroa. The vet put him on Prednisolone which really did not help a lot, Vet then thought!! it might be Inflammatory bowel disease! I put in a claim as she suggested and requested that the claim was separated between the kidney problem and the bowel problem, this counts as two separate conditions instead of one increasing the cover from £500. to £1000. they did not do this, I even wrote a note on the claim form. HelpUcover insurance denied the claim saying there was no proof of the latter. I then found out that the revised claim form had not been completed correctly by a totally incompetent desk assistant. This was the second time this had happened with the same Veterinary Practice and I lost my claim on both. I then changed to a smaller Veterinary Practice in Lancaster, Specialises in Cats, Has experienced knowledgeable vets, took Merlin off the cortizone immediately, called Royal Canin for advise on what to feed him and prescribed the correct treatment for Inflammatory Bowel Disease. This time the insurance company paid out in full, agreed with the diagnosis, and my cat is gaining weight,is a happy playful cat again, and although he is still not completely cured he is doing better. My advice to anyone with a seriously sick cat, and I hear of many with the same problems who did not make it, make sure he is seen by a Competent Veterinarian make sure you get the correct diagnosis and if you are still not satisfied, get a second opinion, (Because I did this Bay Vets cancelled all my pets care by them - 9 animals in total) it will not be cheap, make sure you get the correct food, that is expensive too, and make sure the vet is experienced with this kind of fatal illness.
