Poor customer service

First time using Baystate as I was going to use several other places but this was the only one that had the theme i needed for my daughter. Lets just say after I go pick up my equipment myself, bouncy chairs and table, I set up and the bouncy and there was no picture just an plain bouncy, i would of never paid 200$ for a PLAIN bouncy. I call the oncall person and the answering service stated as this is not an emergency the oncall said he was not able to assist me. So I asked for a refund as if i was going to buy a regular bouncy i would of bought it at a different location which would of been cheaper but because I bought it for the theme and didnt get it there is nothing i can do. After the rudeness all i got from them was an Im sorry it wont happen again .............. Well that helps much doesnt it! Never will rent from them again!!!

I rented several pieces for my son's graduation the weekend of 6/20/2015. Upon delivery, I was sent Keg coolers in place of standard coolers. The 8 foot table was not delivered, my cocktail tables, I ordered 5, they delivered 4. The driver stated that all mistakes would be delivered by EOD if not by 9:00 a.m. Saturday the day of my party. By 9:35 a.m. when nothing was delivered I called the on-call. The on-call stated he was already on a job and unable to assist. He transferred me to another employee who stated nobody should have told me it would have been delivered by 9:00 a.m. and the stuff would get there when it gets there. He could not give me an ETA. I advised I had an ice delivery expected and what should I do? He stated to cancel the delivery. I advised him that I would speak to management on Monday and his response was: Go ahead, I am management. The missing table, and coolers were delivered, however, the 5th cocktail table was not delivered and I was advised: Sorry we are out of stock. I told them I ordered the tables well in advance and they were in stock and I paid in full for them. They said sorry nothing we can do. When I started to set up, all the chairs had to be hosed down as they were filthy and several had ketchup on them. The cocktail tables were so rotted - thank god for table cloths. The legs of the tables were completely rusted and during set up I got rust all over me. The coolers delivered were filthy, the dance floor was covered in bird ***. Those also had to be hosed down. I was advised that everything would be picked up on Monday. Monday came and went. I called and was adivsed they would be out Tuesday Morning. I will never, ever rent from them again.

No complaints here.

What good is a website where people can only complain? Such an extremely one sided view doesn't benefit anyone but the chronic complainer. I have been renting from this company for 3 years and have never had a single problem. Their customer service is fantastic, they are courteous and professional and pay attention to the details, often helping to decide what to rent based upon previous rentals, never trying to up-sell. Delivery is always on time, when they say it will be, even calling ahead to ensure that their delivery schedule works with my schedule. The delivery crew has always been courteous, professional and personable, the kind of crew you want to tip just because they earn it, not because you feel like you have too. Their selection is vast and they always have everything I need, even during the height of party season in the summer. Their prices are lower than anyone else you can find in the area and they have not changed in at least 3 years.

Odd, I never used the word 'Rantings', I'm not sure what review you were reading but it apparently was not mine.

It is interesting to me how 4 years after your apparent bad experience you are still so upset that you would post two comments defending yourself and misquoting my post in each of them.

It has been 4 years, get over it already.

No-one forced me to post on this website but I did feel the need to post my several good experiences in an attempt to counter your one bad experience as any reasonable person would agree is only fair. (No, I don't work for the rental place, I'm just a happy customer.)

Still, I fail to see the benefit of a review type website that provides only a one sided view, perhaps the person that created it is as bitter and close minded as yourself.

btw, How is my review of this companies support, service and price not helpful? (You marked the down arrow above.) I provided a concise, level headed and honest review of my experience with the company, it is nothing but helpful.

Seems like your negative mark is just plain dishonest, another hit to your credibility I am afraid.

If you don't like the premise of this website, I am pretty sure no one forced you to come here. Go start your own website and make it whatever you want. BTW: This site allows responses to 'rantings', as you call it, just like I am doing now, so anything positive you want to say, by all means, go for it.

Baystate Party Rentals

I rented a slush machine for a graduation party over 75 ppl at 98 degrees weather. The slush machine never worked. I tried numerous times to contact the company over the weekend but no one called me back. I finally got a hold of the owner about 5 days later. The owner told me I was lying, that the slush machine was working in their office. When I mentioned I would call the bbb to file a complaint he said go ahead they won't do anything anyways. When the men picked up the slush machine it was still water and one of the men told my husband it was just in the shop the weekend before with the same problem. This company is unbelievable and the worse part is that the owner is even worse. I guess they don't care to lose customers they must have enough. I am now fighting the charges through my credit card company. I have a video and documents of our phone calls to this company. I don't get it if you are a party rental place and most parties are on the weekends why aren't you open? I told the owner that I had a video but he still insisted I was lying. There of course is more details of what I have been through with this company but to write them all in a review it would take up the whole page. Unless you want these hassles and being treated disrespectful and being accused of lying then my advice to you would be do not rent from this company they are not worth the chance you will take by renting from them.

$400 lost on a Slushy machine that cost only $45 to rent? Extreme exaggeration can only hurt your credibility and cause people to discount your poor review.

I don't remember any Jon that was invited to the party. Are you one of them people that believe all people lie or are you an employee? I wonder how people can comment so negatively and accuse others when they weren't there to even see what happen.

I am sorry you feel the way you do and you are entitled to your opinion. However, unless you were there and you experienced the same as we did I guess that again entitles you to be ignorant.

No I was not at your party and I said nothing about your experience, I did however call you out on the exaggeration of your loss. The rental cost on a slushy machine is $45, your review stated a loss of $400.

Calling a $45 rental a $400 loss is an extreme exaggeration.

Being overly defensive and isulting four years after the event is only going to hurt your credibility.

My point being that it doesn't do you any good to complain if your complaint is discounted by rational people due to your exaggeration and overly defensive behavior.

Of course, acting foolishly close minded and ignorant is your prerogative.

Just a bit of advice you really should double check yourself and your prices before you comment. It's not me that is "extreme exaggeration" or hurting my "credibility". It also wasn't me that started this conversation 4 years later. Ask them for a raise.

Although not checking your facts before commenting on a post, I don't know if I was the boss maybe a cut in pay would be more accurate.

You really don't need to comment, I am done with silly people that don't have their facts and cast insults at others.
