- - They operate like an MLM and claim gentle training.
- - They teach aversive methods.
- - Their site says they don’t follow animal welfare science.
This company is basically an MLM, they claim to be gentle trainers but teach aversive methods according to their own website they don't follow animal welfare science. Dog training is an unregulated industry and anyone can call themself a trainer without certification.
If a business is spouting 'pack leader theory alpha or dominance then they are note educated on the topic & anyone who was worth their salt would never work with or for them. RUN
User's recommendation: Run as fast as you can away from them

- - Spent $750 with Bark Busters to socialise a rescue dog; dog is reactive.
- - Meetings: 1 provided gear; 2 cancelled; 3 unplanned visit; no follow-up.
I invested $750 on the 18 March with bark busters hoping they can help us socialise our dog which we got from a rescue centre in Perth. The dog is a good dog but without knowing his full history, we can definitely see that their has been some problems with other dogs in the past and he is reactive.
The trainer is aware of this.
So here are the meeting since March.
Meeting 1 - Took payment, gave us a check colar, 2 water bottle and a chain bag thing. Taught us how to check the dog.
Meeting 2 - cancelled due to some emergency with another dog. If a dog is in a home I don't quite understand what training emergency could be. Disappointing that they took us for idiots and insult our intelligence.
Meeting 3 - comes to our home unplanned and spends another 20 mins of how to train our dog and advise will re-visit in 10-14 days.
No contact since.
Emailed back busters on their web page.
He calls and I didn't pick up in time. Ring him right back within 5 mins and left a message and all I get since is thanks for being patient. I've run out of patience cause our dog needs help training.
I'd be happy to walk away with half my money back so I can find a trainer who has time to help us get our dog to a level where he can socialise.
Think very hard where you throw your hard earned money. $750 doesn't come easy.
I don't know about most of you, that a 40 hour week for me. We love our dog hence the investment.
- Lack of commitment
- Does not keep appointments
- Does not provide service as promised
Preferred solution: Full refund
User's recommendation: Think very carfefully before you part with your money
Do not use this company
- - Paid $750 for a dog care session.
- - Only one session; no follow-up after emails or calls.
- - The business was sold.
- - Lifetime guarantee is a joke.
I paid $750 as a new dog owner genuinely wanting to learn to take the best care of our new pet. One very basic session - they never followed up even after email/calling & the business was sold.
I was told don’t worry - new owner will follow up. They have no interest!!
Lifetime guarantee is a joke! Do not pay money fir this joke of a service!!!

- - They charge $600+; booking a month in advance.
- - The trainer arrives ~10 min.
- - The car was left running.
- - The techniques involve circling and bargh.
Do not deal.
They take your money - $600+
You have to book in a month in advance.
Last two times she showed up to my house - she did a ten minute lesson and buggered off.
She even left the car running - thats how short the lesson is.
The training techniques are bizarre - the trainer makes you walk in circles making you “bargh” at the dog.
Does not work, had more success using basic training.
They are scammers - do not deal.
Quick cash grab
- - Trainer visited at 4 months, gave tips, second visit never happened, and $600 was wasted.
- - Two bags with chains, a spray bottle, and a waggtagg.
My trainer came out when my pup was 4 months old. Was given some training tips which was all good, 2 little bags with chains in them, a leaky spray bottle from a cheap shop and a waggtagg.
Was meant to come around for a second visit, but it never happened. My dog is now almost 2 years old.
$600 wasted, lesson learnt. I’m now trained to not waste my money.

Verified ReviewerNo real solution
- - Paid for 1 year of training; trainer visited about 6 times; no real improvement.
- - Refund not offered; lost $500; dog still cannot walk on lead.
I reached out to Bark Busters sometime ago however, as we still have problems with our dog I tend to reflect on the experience feeling cheated and at a loss of solution and money. We paid for a 1 year training program and during that time our trainer visited us around 6 times.
She installed a training program which we followed, but no real improvement. On the last visit she confessed that in all her years of training dogs, she has never not be able to train a dog like ours. She even suggested getting a new one? In my eyes that is a fail and surely a refund of our money?
Alas no. She came back again after I complained with more tips but still no improvement. I regret going with Bark Busters as I lost $500 I could have invested better.
Plus I still have a dog I cannot take for a walk as he cannot walk on lead without aggressive behaviour. Just want to warn people to research into real dog behaviour specialists if experiencing a dog with bad leash association, as this company does not know how to overcome that.
Big Scam!
- - Bark Busters is a scam and a waste of money.
- - The trainer yelled at the dog and the method was impractical.
- - They promised follow-ups but disappeared.
Do not use Bark Busters! This is a scam and a complete waste of money. Aside from the ethos and method of the training used being completely absurd and impractical. The "trainer" came to our house once, yelled at our dog lots and threw some *** thing at him to replicate the "sounds of other dogs teeth" the guy never came back again. He promised follow ups but was unable to because he went on holidays then he seemed to mysteriously disappear for good never bothering to phone or check up on us again… With the money you pay you would except at least one phone call!
When we phoned the company to arrange another visit they told us to attend the classes which were no were near our area and during normal work times. On top of this we could not have taken our dog to group classes even if we could hence we paid for this type of service.
Please DO NOT use Bark Busters. If you love your dog, you can find more caring, passionate and effective trainers elsewhere… And save your money.
No Happy with BB
- - The trainer did not train my dogs; they gave generic guidance, and the service felt expensive and time-wasting.
I read on BB site that they can train your dog, which was the reason why I decided to seek them out since I'm not free 85% of the day due to studies and work. But after the first session I realised that it wasn't the case.
I paid a lot of money for someone to train my dogs for me not for someone to give me 'how to do it' advice so I can train them myself. I decided to get a dog trainer for my 2 dogs. One is a small dog and around 2 years old and he is perfectly trained in commands (trained by myself). The only thing is he barks when strangers cars slowly comes up to our house or if a stranger is outside our door, which is not a problem for me and my family.
We only wanted the trainer to correct his toilet problem inside the house which is a small thing, since he *** on newspapers but likes to *** near a corner if no one is around to take him out. But all she did was say that the barking has to stop and gave me a piece of paper on 'how' to toilet train the dog. That wasn't helpful. My other dog is a puppy (14 weeks old) so he needs the most training.
The thing that I wanted to know was how to toilet train him to hold his bladder at night.
I asked the trainer this and all they gave me was unless instructions because I was already following those that I got from the internet. If I had known I wouldn't have purchased their service, it's expensive and overall time wasting.

Trainer got in touch with me today. I offered to take 50% refund and part ways. Let's wait and see.
So they charged me $90 for the lead and collar. Again worst customer service I've experienced in many years.
