Poor customer service, wouldn’t trust them building a roof with lego

I have never had an experience as bad as the one I’ve had with Barfield Contracting during a roof replacement. My roof took 7 weeks from the day they started pulling shingles off until it was finished.

The roof actually looks good now but it took multiple phone calls each week with no return calls most of the time. Crew left piles of garbage for days on end which then blew all over the yard. Nails are a huge problem...had a man come to clean gutters and he left because there are so many nails left in the gutter. My 80 year old father found a roofing nail in his tire.

I left a message for Barfield...no response. This is a never ending nightmare.

I chose Barfield because they guaranteed their job and said in the contract that site would be cleaned up! Now I have to pay to repair a tire and for someone to clean nails out of gutters.

Still finding nails in the landscaping. Over a gallon nails picked up by my elderly mother!

Barfield roofing did a re roof on my solar home. His workers had no idea what they were doing.

My roof had 50 brackets that hold down the solar panels. His workers took all my brackets and threw them in the dumpster. When I called to find out where all my brackets went, the owner said he was very sorry and that he would pay for his workers stupidity.

When he got the bill he changed his mind, said it was the solar company's fault that his employee's threw my brackets in the dumpster. The solar company has replaced many many solar arrays and never seen any one throw the brackets in the trash.

We signed a contract in Sept. 2017 and placed a $7000 deposit for a metal roof in Oct.

2017. We were given several start dates and several excuses regarding scheduling and material excuses. After several conversations with them On Feb. 24 we were told the material was never ordered.

Heather apologized and said Kevin would give us a $1000 off our contract if we authorized the order to be placed on Feb. 25.

We opted to cancel our contract due to the lies from Kevin and Scott. We picked up our deposit (without interest) on Feb. 28, 2018.

and we got nothing but lies, excuses and frustration.

Barfield was referred to us by a friend. This is a poor excuse for a company!

I would not recommend them and if and when Barfield contacts us I won't give them the satisfaction of a return call. The same courtesy they gave us!!!

In May of 2015 I hired a contractor to replace my roof which had wind damage. I submitted a claim to my ins.

co. who agreed to cover the damages & pay the contractor. The claim was for approx. $4000.

to replace one side of the roof. Well, the contractor, Kevin Barfiled, was incompetent & I have water damage inside my house from the roof leaking. He was here once in an attempt to fix the leaks. A few months ago, after calling him & complaining he told me that he was here & sealed my skylights while I was at work.

I have since found out that he lied to me & was never here. I called him yesterday & he has not returned my call. I called another contractor who was highly recommended to me & after inspecting the roof he has suggested a whole new roof as it will be difficult to find & fix all the previous contractor's mistakes, & he will not warranty any repairs. I called my insurance co.

who have opened another claim. What is my recourse? Will the insurance co. go after this guy to recover considering that they paid the claim?

I have not talked to an adjuster yet. Thanx.
