Original review updated Mar 01, 2025

I made an appointment for my husband and called on a Thursday for the following Monday appointment. Evidently they tried to call him while he was at work on Friday to confirm but he didnt answer the phone because he cant have his phone at work.

They canceled his appointment for the following Monday. Absolutely ridiculous! They said he could've called back after hours and left a voicemail that he would be there. I dont understand why he had to confirm when I literally just made the appointment three days before the appointment!

When I called her back to tell her that he was working and he couldnt confirm and that's the reason I called and in the first place and made the appointment for him. April from the 1st Dr., Decatur, IL office was very condescending and talked down to me. Not the way you expect someone in a doctors office to treat you! I asked to speak to the manager and she told me she wasnt available.

I asked when she would be available and she simply just stated I dont know. She was very rude! Nevertheless, we will be going to a different eye doctor, this place is not who I would feel comfortable placing our eye care with! Totally disregarded how she made us feel as a customer, and we are double insured!

Note/ She did ask me what kind of insurance we had when I asked to make an appointment and I asked her if that would affect how soon they could get us in!

She said Yes- sometimes! Interesting !

User's recommendation: Find a different location or different eye doctor!
