Complaint

Worst customer service experience ever. Tried to make an appointment with a Baptist health doctor and kept calling the phone number I was given.

No one ever answers but a message says we will call you back. Tired of holding my breath and called another doctor to save my life.

I am being told that I can not bring my child into the hospital because she js under 12 and if she is not sick she can not go in while my mother has surgery and I can not wait in the hospital so I have to sit in the rain with my child and not to mention she has been in the hospital before younger than 3

Please see the reviews for Boca Raton Regional Hospital. They're very concerning.

I've had a multitude of issues and have tried desperately to contact local administration who over the years has refused to speak with me.

I have tried every which way to contact corporate who also will not take phone calls from me. This is very, very frustrating and I feel that my relatives care is compromised.

Why should I pay astronomical values for a negligent service?

On 11/29/2021, I had a very acute, stabbing chest pain and went to the emergency room Baptist Hospital in Kendall Drive / Miami Florida./ I have a previous history of arrhythmia and take a beta blocker. When I arrived they took me to the place where they measure vitals before being admitted to the ER - they did an EKG and took a blood test outside of the Emergency Room.

The technician or nurse that took my EKG said it seemed normal and I was to wait outside. I waited there for 2 hours- while other people were being admitted- and tried to check on my blood work. They said it wasn’t ready.* After another two hours I went inside where they had taken my EKG and asked about the blood work. They said it had just come in and was normal.

I had already been there for 4 hours. I told them I would leave as if I didn’t have a heart attack after four hours waiting outside, surrounded by people that were coughing, maybe some with COVID or needed attention, I would rather leave. I asked to speak to a Doctor but there was no Doctor in charge of my case, so no one was really aware of my clinical history. Next day I went to my Cardiologist (from Baptist) which indicated I should have a Coronary CAT Scan asap and probably a catheterism.

Apart from the electrophysiological problem (arrhythmia) the CAT scan results were 40% coronary obstruction. For this “negligent professional service” - 4 hours outside, no immediate test results, no immediate chest x ray, no physical examination by a Doctor, no research of clinical history - I was billed $1.236 dollars of a $2060 bill as they (billing) said they had credited the bill $800 dollars to reach that amount because Insurance wouldn’t pay them and I had not reached my deductible. The attending Physician “according to bill was Sergio Segarra.” Never met him. No Doctor examined me.

Emergency room should’ve given me a Chest X Ray- to start with- and look at my clinical history. I was given no medication -I took on my own aspirin and beta blocker. Billing department in a very rude manner say that billing has nothing to do with customer service. I have contacted customer service on various occasions and they say they will assign an advocate.

I am arguing that -even after the insurance having or not paid (?)- the rates that they charged are 5 or 6 times the rates for this tests. I asked for the detail for 9980***-*. but it has no codes. There was no rush on the blood work either so they cannot sustain a charge based on emergency room rates where I never was admitted to the emergency room.

I would like to have the codes and dispute one by one of this tests because of the astronomical and arbitrary value assigned.

FromA CBC with diff-$7-$64 they charge $296 A PTT $4-$39 they charge $185 A Troponin I $11-$67 they charge $407 A Basic Metabolic Panel $30-$80 they charge $513 Also- concluding from my interaction with the billing department -there is absolutely no consumer-directed considerations, which I imagine expands to all health-care services they provide. Presently I am waiting for a response from customer service in this matter,
