Unfinished work
I wrote email to the head of the company, but haven’t received any answer. I filed a small claim case against Lawrence Brent withthe Montgomery County, MD, district court.
When he said he finished his work, I handed him cash.
Then he added: Just let me know the date of your appointment with PEPCO so I can install the meter before. After this he never has shown up again. He kept reassuring me in text messages that he would come this day or that day to finish the work, but never did. As a result, I missed two appointments with PEPCO.
The most disturbing thing is that he apparently found a sadistic pleasure in deceiving me. When he told me he didnt have a car to come and finish the work, I offered to pick him up and, once he completes the project, to take him back home. When I was already driving to his home, he sent a text message that he actually was not there. He asked me to find another electrician to finish the work and offered to pay for it.
But it was only one of a series of his lies and deceptions. We contacted more than half a dozen electricians, but none would want to finish the work started by another electrician and take responsibility for it. So we were left in limbo with a prospect of no heat during winter.
After more than a month, on recommendation from our neighbors, an electrical company agreed to finish Lawrence Brents work for a price. He has never reimbursed me that expense despite an earlier promise and my repeated requests to do that.
