I spoke to your customer service departments in Michigan and California. I feel that your company is at fault for not knowing California fire code requirements and should not have sold us the Goliath Barn Kit in the first place.
How is this our fault? You should do the right thing and return our money. I feel that your company is totally negligent in not knowing that this would never get approved for a permit.
You cost us $750.00 in a permit fee plus numerous other fees for getting ready for this to happen. Is $820.00 really worth a terrible review?

Don’t use them! Won’t do the right thing
He said to go look at it at their yard in Brentwood, N.Y., and there were 2 nice sheds there. So he said I can buy one of them now, as the other is still being used at the Costco fall display. I agreed and purchased the shed. Then I got a shed moving company to pick it up.
About an hour or 2 before they were picking up the shed, I got a call from the guy at the warehouse that the shed was damaged. When I went and saw them, there was no damage on the shed; otherwise, I wouldn't have purchased it. He said he would give me a pack of shingles and some of the wood pieces that were damaged. I had already paid a $300 deposit to the Shed Movers and would lose it if I canceled, so I was like, 'Okay, I guess so.' They delivered it, and it had a pretty good amount of damage.
I was pissed. I called the guy Kevin, and he was like, 'Okay, I understand,' and he didn’t know about the damage and said he would work on getting me a credit back from them.
It has been 2 weeks and 3 follow-up emails to him, and crickets!!! I am not happy, so I just figured I would let fellow consumers know not to deal with these *** Just saying.

Verified Reviewer |This company sold me a barn kit that their materials didn't meet California fire codes. They should not have sold me a product that doesn't pass permit regulations in California. Buyer Beware!
This company does not care about it's reputation. They tried to sell us a barn kit that their products/materials didn't meet California fire codes.
How could they not know this?
They are refusing to refund my $820.00 signed architectural drawings that you submit for a permit. I sent a letter to COSTCO to tell them about my experience in the hopes that they don't back this company in the future.
We think this company is negligent in not knowing that their materials don't meet state or county regulations for a permit. We lost a lot of money in the permit fee and the interest on our $20,000.00 that they did refund. We also are renting a container as we emptied our garage, thinking this would go through. I contacted them to do the right thing, but they say their policy states there are no refunds on the signed plans.
The fact that Costco is promoting this company, as that is how we became aware of this product, is also disturbing. I just want everyone in California to know not to purchase their Goliath barn kit.

Shorty work on 2 sheds
Sheds rotted after i caulked and painted .. material is flimsy and mostly partial board.
i supplied my invoice info several times they keep asking for the same info then said they would send 3x4 which isnt the appropriate material after i told them it was 30 feet of wood.. lots of rot and cracking .. less than zero after spending 7000z.. now customer service says my case is closed ..
i guess they had their feelings hurt.. buy a different product not heartland lowes or backyard products they dont stand behind their product

HORRIBLE COMPANY
If I could give them negative reviews I would. This company has been an absolute nightmare for months and still not resolved.
I have an incorrectly put together playset (so bad it cannot be used) with multiple damage and nearly IMPOSSIBLE to get in touch with someone who can give me answers. No one knows anything. Everyone is going to follow up and it never happens. I just keep calling and emailing anyone and everyone I can.
My poor kids have a playset in the yard that they cant even use and Im out thousands of dollars. Im highly upset and wish I had read the horrible reviews from multiple sites before giving this company my money.
DO NOT DEAL WITH THEM!! Save yourself and money.

They scam you into upgrades then don't install them fully and claim it's not structural, so they won't fix it. Avoid it like the 6k plague it is.

I purchased a 10 x 10 shed from a local Home Depot in California. I purchased a display model and was excited to get it back home.I was given 30 days to pick it up ,Unfortunately my wife passed away unexpectedly and I was in mourning with our 3 little children under 8 yrs old .I placed a call to Backyard products and was transferred over to a person by the name Kevin Raymo who was in charge of the shed department this person gave me the run around for over a month saying he had No problem refunding me just needed to verify the 10 x 10 shed was still there he had me send him pictures he had me have the Home Depot
Management send him proof then he blocked my emails .I'm now dealing with a female by the name of Crissy and she is doing the same to me .This company has No feelings or care they know I'm grieving the loss of my wife and still No refund only we will refund you but No refund.

My experience with backyard products Glenmont branch was a nightmare. I was originally told I can get on the schedule for a shed to be installed end of November.
Then it turned to Wednesday December 6th. I took the day off from work. Then they told me they couldn't get the materials and it would have to be installed on Friday December 8th. I took Friday off from work.
The supplies would be delivered on the 7th Thursday. The supplies were actually delivered on Tuesday the 5th like originally scheduled. They lied to me. Come Friday they called me and told me that someone walked off the job and they'd have to install it on Monday.
Come Monday morning they told me they couldn't install cuz it was supposed to rain. And that I'd have to do it Tuesday. It finally got installed on Tuesday the gentleman all by himself was great but I learned a lot about this company. It took them seven business days or like 10 days normal to get my insurance papers I needed for my town permit.
I found out backyard products does not own insurance they make the subcontractors provide their own that is why it took so long apparently.
One excuse after another I would never recommend you buy a shed from Lowe's who hires this company. It was extremely frustrating!

I got a 12x16 shed and the walls came out good but the roof i think is not cut were the gables meet the wall it is at a point i have pics i can send but its not letting me on here so if u could email me asap please it might work then.thank you

I was missing a part. So, the best they could do was ship it to a lowes store that is a two hour drive from me.
Additionally, it will take them more then 7 days to ship the part and they will use 3-5 day shipping, so it won't arrive at the Lowes for like 12 days, so even if lowes agrees to ship it to me, that will probably be another five days, so we are looking at as long as three weeks for these losers to get me a replacement part--assuming off course that Lowes is will to ship it. Whatever you do, don't buy anything from Backyard Products.
