I had to replace my hard drive - so I tried to download my files from Carbonite. I noticed right away that my genealogy file -5 years of work - was missing. What i found out was that because I had a file with too long a name in a completely different file area - Carboni...

I’m Very disappointed at the service. After six weeks of attempting to utilize the service unsuccessfully, I'm totally frustrated and angry about how I been treated. I shudder to think how someone with no IT experience would handle what I've had to endure. After...

have been using Carbonite to backup and save my documents and folders and now that I my computer went down - have tried to get my files back for over 2 weeks. Beware and stay away from this system
Carbonite - Can't restore all files
by ResponsibleZonkey731 #1448277
Upon restore of 292GB of data, the process created a folder called "Restore Filepath Too Long" where it placed > 10,000 files. They claim this is a Windows limitation (256 limit path / file length).
That said, I'm able to SEE the full path name in the Carbonite Repository... so why can't I at least get a LISTING with this information so I know where those 10,000 files go? They can't answer that question (other than, customers don't really have this problem and you should be able to simply move those back into their original folder). What??!! The other thing is; Why was GitHub able to restore files in their original locations when Carbonite couldn't?
Again, no answer. Disappointed, to say the least. Likely to find a better answer from a competitor.

Never ever buy this product. It just doesn't work, and you will have to fight to get the refund they said you can have. I just try to get data back from an accidental delete. So I stop using the computer to be sure not to overwrite the data on the HDD. So then I bought...

I had/have 4.5TB of data backed up. 25 years worth's of files to my iDrive account. A few months ago my backups started failing. Then about 3 weeks ago I went to do a restore of some files. When I went in there, EVERY FILE WAS GONE. Nothing, despite it showing my quota...

My system disk was becoming full, so I bought 1TB SSD disk to replace it. Clowning looked to me a easy way, but that wasn’t the case here. Cloneing the old system disk was very difficult, it was awkward. I was in contact to customer service many times. And when I finally...
