Online background check at Backgroundalert.com "SCAM"

It was suggested I do a background check on myself before I apply for a Concealed Carry Weapons permit to check for anything I may have forgotten or errors. Therefore, I did a background check on myself.

FIRST: $22.95 for a premium background check (unlimited checks for 1 Month) with no mention of any future upgrade required if you want "real" information. So I proceeded forward. I ran the check on myself and found very little information on myself. Maybe my name and address and a little bit more.

SECOND: Then a POP UP, would you like an advanced search for $19.95 more. Well, I had virtually no usable information yet and I had spent already $22.95 I did upgrade, foolishly. Now spent $42.90. I am feeling the scam present its self. The computer screen progressed with the search in many areas that would surely have much information on me. Just to mention some areas. Marriage, Children, Property Owned, Professional Licenses, Hunting and Fishing licenses and many other listed areas of the search that came up completely empty of information of where there is a current or past history. I believe the second search did not produce any new information. I called

Backgroundalert.com customer service and advised that I received only worthless information from the background check and wanted a refund. She agreed, apologized, and said they would give me a refund. For, $22.95 not the $19.95 for the advanced search. She said that they are not responsible for inaccurate information. I asked to speak to a supervisor and she said I could not at this time and one may call me back at their convenience. A little more discussion and it is apparent that I am not going to a refund for a search of witch I received ZERO VALUE.

My opinion of my experience: TOTAL SCAM

My recommendation: DO NOT USE Backgroundalert.com with the expectation of receiving any information of any value for which you are seeking.

NOTE: The $19.95 they charged me. For which I received nothing!! Well, the way I see it is. They are earning it now with this review. Still money poorly spent on my part.

GOOD LUCK TO YOU OUT THERE
