WASTE OF TIME

I have tried to register for this site for the last three weeks - sending an email a few times a day only to receive a message that the mailbox is full. I finally decided to call and was told by the woman who answered that they are not accepting any more registration for a year??? So why not put that disclaimer on their website instead of suggesting that people be "patient" and "keep trying." ???????? And now you are asking me to write a minimum of 100 words to voice this complaint when I expressed the issue clearly in 72 words so now I am just typing away (another waste of time) so that I can get this message posted

No they are a legitimate casting agency and they pay well and treat people well before you spread false information. Not a good idea to burn bridges in the entertainment business.

Still have'nt got My $30.00 Reloaded back onto My Card that was taken out Fraudulently by the background check company....At which I never got any information from in the First Place... I Believe that Background Check Company is a Scam,All of the way around,and I am upset with Netspend for not Retrieving My Money's....I Think that I May Discontinue doing Business with That Company... Also I originaly liked the convenenience of the card,but,with all of the sir charge's,and all,I am starting to think that it is more trouble than what it is worth,/especially when They Don't stand behind Their Customer's

BACKGROUND INC - Jennifer Feraday - Pushy & Unprofessional

Stay clear of Jennifer Feraday of Background Inc of NYC. She is pushy, unprofessional and sends out unsolicited underpaying job opportunities to models and actors/actresses that are located on casting resource websites local to the NYC area. She'll call you, give you guilt trips and manipulate to get her way. She is abrupt, has a great tendency to spin previous conversations to meet her needs and disrespects those that politely decline her offerings. I gave her the courtesy of a phone call to let her know that my client had to turn down a job opportunity that she cold called about in the first place that had never confirmed after they spoke once on the phone about. Great disrespect, yelling was her response, along with and a hang up what was received in return. We get that she made it all the way to the Big Apple to pursue her dreams as a big time extra agent, but in my experience with her, the queen-bee attitude, coarse style and bullying nature when she didn't get her way doesn't sit well with me. A very low paying gig that offers higher profile exposure is one thing, but a gig that will never see the light of day, an in-house production for a full day of work isn't for everyone, particularly to a professional with a multitude of credits, projects, opportunity cost at hand and a already established career on the go. Aspiring actors/actresses and models, be wary, there's plenty of opportunities out there with more appreciative and professional agents and resources to work with.

Wrong! Jennifer is on top of her game.

Background, Inc., deals with commercial jobs primarily, perhaps exclusively. She’s very efficient so you have to be able to run with that.

Just check out her client base and one can easily see why Background, Inc. is the leading agency for commercial extras in NYC!

You are sooooo right on this one! I went with my niece on an appointment that this agency set up on 6/29/12.

She had all the necessary documentation, photos, head shots, comp cards, and a professional resume. My niece has modeled for art studios, associations, schools, professional photographers and even did some extra work for TV shows, including "White Collar" on cable. In spite of all her experience and attractive looks, these people were rude and nasty. They treated her like she was 5 years old and mentally challenged.

A woman named Jennifer was very disrespectful and "unprofessional" to put it mildly. She could at least showed a little respect to her and at least completed a full interview after all the trouble we went to get there. I realize that the show business world is tough and difficult, but a little common respect would have been nice! Don't waste your time with these people.

There are other agencies that will treat you with respect and honesty. We should have listen to this blog and not waste our time!

It's quite sad when casting directors don't take into consideration the deleterious effect that certain work can have on your image at large. In addition to offering a relatively low wage to do a commercial, Ms.

Faraday concealed the name of the product she was casting for.

To be specific, she offered $150 for my sister and myself to do a Pepsi commercial, denoted the role in itself as background when it was actually a principal role, and overlooked the controversy surrounding Pepsi; millions sustain that Pepsi suggested that their liquid beverage could eradicate the deeply entrenched pain and hurt that black individuals have encompass, as a result of racial disparities, and a disproportionality of resources.

She however posted the project as an industrial soda commercial, and asked only for African Americans.

We strongly believe that you should give individuals an option with regards to the political stance that they themselves would like to take on such an imperative matter. Moving foward, we encourage actors to research the productions that they will be working with, and to also ask for specific contract in relation to their designated roles.

I mean she's just a garden variety racist, the casualness of it all. Sorry to hear this.

She's hurting our black brothers and sisters, lucky for us her dysgenic genes won't carry on. She had her only possible bloodline cut off through vaccine sterilization, I hear she didn't even get to cast that Moderna commercial, she tried to do the same thing but it had a eugenics sort of vibe to it.

Funny thing is this woman doesn't drink Pepsi, she prefers Coke. Sniff, muh priviledge

The rates are sub par and Jennifer Feraday is very rude on the telephone. She is demeaning and doesn't like it when someone really doesn't need her work. She is very disorganized and there is no need to be unprofessional.

Do not work with Jennifer Feraday, Elliot on the other hand, who works with her is very reliable.

There is no need to work for this company, just look on castingnetworks, actorsaccess, backstage and imdbpro, you don't need her poor professional attitude for $150-250.

Ie in house ads others are union rate. You have

To understand there are thousands of potential

Actors that call her office and just drop by etc. news flash most ny

Agents are pushy etc. get in a different business. Finally I try to never turn her jobs

Down because I was lucky enough to get upgraded

On a Verizon commercial and went on to make over 268k.
