Verified Reviewer | Orlando, FloridaTravel agent canceled our travel insurance and did not tell us
HI, we had a trip planed for Dec 4th with NCL Gem (#5331****) from Rome to New York (arriving Dec 19th) Paid in full by Aug 2023. Due to weather we were struck in Orlando International with 5 delays (Dec 3rd) which caused us to miss our connecting flight in Montreal to Rome, it was 1030pm by then.
They tried to put us on a plane leaving (4hours later) at 6:30am on the 4th to Rome arriving at 8:00pm only to miss the ship which left port at 6:00pm going to Pisa. They told us upon arriving in Rome at 800pm we could take a train (at 900pm at night) to arrive in Florence (3 to 4 hrs later) and then get a bus to Pisa cruise port (at our expense) plus had to sit all night to wait till ship to come in while dragging our luggage, WHAT??? Nope not going to do that. Then they booked us on a flight leaving on the 5th (Tuesday) at 6:00pm out of Montreal to Germany (arriving at 730am) to catch a flight to France arriving at 10am.
We were told to get a cab to ship (at our expense) which arrived in port at 11;00am. We got to Germany and missed our flight to France due to an aircraft was in our spot. They booked us on the next fight to France which arrived at 900pm only to miss the ship again!. WE were DONE after that, tried, overwhelmed, and wanted just go go home, whole trip loss cause.
They sent us home back to Orlando on Wed the 6th 4 hrs later arriving back in Orlando at 5:30pm. After waiting a few days in disbelief we found out our Travel Agent Sue Collins had canceled our travel Insurance long before our trip and NEVER told us or sent us any type of e-mail stating this. I had asked her several times if everything was PAID and her answer was always YES!. I also asked her for any type of e-mail stating that I wanted the travel insurance removed.
She could not produce anything! The only thing she sent us was an invoice in the beginning showing the total amount due which included the insurance. I am not asking for $$$ back ($3,500) but I am asking for some type of credit close to this amount towards future travel since this was NOT our fault, it was Sue Collins for canceling our travel Insurance and NOT following up to make sure the customer wanted this done. I am very upset, I know we are just ants among cruiser but this is not fair and NOT our fault.
All I ask is someone ask Sue Collins to prove that I requested removal of Travel Insurance and then the truth will be told. Not a very happy customer with Avoya Travel at this time.
Someone really should look really look into to this matter. .

Book cruise
I've been using Ayoya travel in the past for years. Mrs Marla Foster was my agent.
She was AWESOME, HELPFUL AND FRIENDLY. Mrs Sharon White phone number 187******** when I tried booking with her was VERY RUDE to me and one other family member I recommended her too. That's why I decided to booked DIRECTLY WITH THE MSC SEASCAPE. It's a party of 20 of us traveling that could ha e been booked with Avoya.
But because of Mrs White nasty attitude we decided not to book with her any more. Having a person like her as an agent for Avoya travel is A VERY BAD THING.
User's recommendation: Only if we book with Mrs Julia Drake I'll book with Ayoya. But because Mrs Drake was travel amd we wanted to catch the special from the ship we didn't book with Mrs Drake.
