I think it's a scam, why have warranty protection when you have to have a problem that qualifies for a claim? I bought the truck mainly because I thought I'd be covered for at least 3 years should things go wrong.

I had no idea this was going to happen.

The only reason I found the issue was because I wanted to prepare my truck to pull my trailer for the first time, so I wanted it in prime condition. The problem was found before I had broken down somewhere on a major expressway and saved me towing and other expenses.

I've been screwed

I had bought a used 2017 Ford F-150 in April of 2024 and when I picked up the truck, I received nothing about the 3-year, 45,000-mile warranty. Well, I called the dealer 4 days later and was told I would get something from Auto Save in 60 days.

Well, 60 days came and went and I received nothing from Auto Save. I called the dealer again and was told the policy hadn't been posted; I would then receive something in 60 days. Well, on the 1st of August, I received an additive and two cards with the maintenance policy. Now, I had gotten the Carfax on this vehicle and the last major work on the engine was at 100,000 miles.

So, I thought that since I'm going on vacation and pulling my trailer, I should get it ready to tow without any problems. Well, that's when my adventure started. I took it to a shop and they were going to replace the plugs and coils and said there was a leak in one of my engine cylinders. It turned out to be a burnt exhaust valve.

Well, I submitted a claim and was waiting for an answer for over 48 hours. I called AutoSave, and the employee was very rude. He told me they didn't know if they would cover the expense and said if they do, they would only cover $2000 of a $5200 job. I was in shock as I thought I was going to be good for at least 3 years.

They told me that it might not be covered because of normal wear and tear! I ask anybody with knowledge of engines how one can differentiate a burnt valve being from normal wear and tear! Well, oil change receipts and pictures sent of the damage, and two days ago AutoSave called me and told me I was denied due to no actual mechanical failure! I would have been better off driving my truck and breaking down pulling a trailer on a freeway or somewhere else.

Then maybe they would approve my claim. I'm looking into hiring an attorney and recommend not using these people - it is nothing but a scam.

I still never received the fine print and even went to the website, but there is nothing on the site about their terms and conditions. I was not prudent in staying on top of this, but I trusted what the dealer was telling me.

Uncovered valve seat

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

After finding out that a valve seat apparently exploded and caused my engine failure I was told that the valves would be covered but the valve seat was not. When I explained that I shut my van off and it never restarted I was told that either I lived in a really "loud" part of ny or I was playing "my music" so loud that I didn't hear it.

I explained that not only did I live on Long Island (suburb) but that I did not even have my radio on...to which I was basically called a liar. I called back and asked to speak to a supervisor...I left a message which was not returned.

I called again the following day to complain about the rude customer service and the supervisor was just as rude! I had to practically beg for an apology after being treated so rudely!

The worst warranty company

As a repair facility owner. I would just like to advise everyone that of all the warranty companies this is by far the worst one to deal with.

Buy their meaningless warranty at your own risk. They run a scam. They will sell you a piece of paper that is it. It is totally worthless and they have zero technical knowledge about anything.

Scam 100%. Most warranty companies are bad and just want to collect a premium and not pay out but this company is the worst of the worse. Just terrible.

Bob, who is a claim adjuster, has zero customer service skills which is slightly more then his technical knowledge about how automobiles work. A total buffoon.

We are a shop having the same issues with Bob Adams? (I'm sure it's a fake name).

They sent us an approval but now that the work is done I've called them a dozen times and nobody will call us back.

I managed to call and finally and by sheer luck get "Bob" on the phone and he tried to laugh at us and treat us like ***. They have not paid as promised and now we are stuck with the customers car because they were depending on these proceeds to pay for the repair.

Looking over the coverage's at a dealer before I purchased the warranty last week, I did not see that phaser part listed under the list of covered parts, so it must not be covered. My friend had the same warranty from the same dealer a few years before and they paid an 1800 claim for him

Autosave is terrible! Please read this before signing a contract!

Agree. Should've read the contract closer, but I trusted the dealer on the Autosave warranty. Had a metal part fail and enter my engine. Caused catastrophic damage. Autosave said all the damaged parts were covered, IF they were damaged by a covered part. Apparently the fuel pump was not covered.

Upon further review of the contract, and after reading reviews of Autosave (and others), it became apparent that Autosave does not like to cover parts that are likely to fail. What???

Thought the whole idea of a warranty was to cover unlucky consumers who suffered big issues with there cars! I ended up throwing away > $9K on the car.

Called Autosave rep to try and re-coup prorated contract. Apparently it is commonplace (by good warranty companies I was told) to pro-rate the contract when a person sells or junks a car. Guess what? Not with Autosave!

After hearing all this from the rep, I told him I was disappointed. What was his response? He hung up on me! Class act!

So, thinking of Autosave? Please consider an alternative warranty company. Do your homework (Google!) You will see all the issues with Autosave. They are truly a horrible company, from top to bottom.

Stay away!

WILL NOT FIX CAR THAT'S UNDER WARRANTY!!!

Auto Save is TRASH! They do not honor their word and are in the business of ripping people off.

The customer service is horrible, I spoke with Bob, Andrew and Carrie, they all need to learn how to talk to PAYING CUSTOMERS. They don't appreciate your business and will get you all caught up in this *** contract that you signed. Their reasoning behind not fixing my engine is beyond me. It's a reason why they are NOT registered with the BBB!

This company sucks and I strongly urge dealership not to partner with them!!! Good luck everyone, you are truly dealing with a bunch of {{REDACTED}}!

AUTO SAVE SCAM - WON'T CANCEL WARRANTY

Hello Everyone!

I bought car about 6 months ago and a shady dealer lured my wife into buying warranty for $1200 extra. Dealer says you can cancel it any time if you do not like and can get your money back if car is totaled or sold.

I sold car about 6 months later, called Auto Save, denied to refund prorated amount.

Some one please start a class action lawsuit. You might win big time. Dealers got you into this warranty and does not tell the truth.

THIS IS A SCAM GOING AROUND IN CONJUNCTION WITH SHADY DEALERSHIPS, DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM.

Autosave extended warranty

PURCHASED EXTENDED WARRANTY TO FIND OUT YOU CANT CANCELL IT! OF COURSE DEALERSHIP WILL NOT TELL YOU THIS.

PURCHASES PLENTY OF EXTENDED WARRANTIES FOR VEHICLES AND NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM! CONTACTING BBB TO FILE COMPLAINT, WHAT A JOKE OF A WARRANTY. DO NOT BUY!! CALLED AUTOSAVE AND GUY CHUCKLED CAUSE HE PROB HAD PLENTY OF CALLS OF SAME SITUATION.

SO IM OUT 2,000 DOLLARS FROM AUTOSAVE AND DEALERSHIP. CALLED DEALERSHIP AND NO LUCK. CALLED FINANCE BANK AND NO LUCK. FIND out you need to read the fine, fine print.

It says only cancelled if vehicle is stollen or repo. If i didnt have good credit i would of had it repo so autosave would lose.

Enough loopholes to get out of paying about any claim

Do not get tricked into buying an Autosave warranty. These guys operate fringe legally.

It seems like a fair price for a warranty, but that's because dealers mark it up to a price that seems plausible. Since it is technically such a cheap warranty(actual price is strictly confidential for good reason), the only way these *** are still in business is by writing a contract with so many exit clauses that they can get out of paying almost any claim. For example, I bought an extended warranty on a 2001 dodge 2500 diesel manual transmission for $1799.99. Six months later, my synchronizers went out, which are covered in the warranty.

Unfortunately, they just wore out, instead of breaking. The claims rep said that "this is not a performance warranty," so it's not covered. Even though my transmission hardly shifted, I could technically get it in gear with some work, but the average driver would be S.O.L. The claims rep said that I should have just driven the tranny till it broke.

However, there is a clause in the fine print that says that if you know there is a problem and fail to fix it, and the transmission goes out because of that, they will not cover the warranty. You can't win with these *** On top of that, they are very rude, disrespectful, and take forever to send out an adjuster to the repair shop. Another note, they require you to change the oil and filter every 4 months or 4000 miles, whatever comes first, and it has to be done by a licensed oil changer or repair shop-you don't count!!!!! In my factory manual, the recommended interval is every 5 months or 7500 miles.

It gets expensive if you only drive 2000 miles in 4 months and a professional oil change costs $70.00!!!!!!

Autosave wrote their own demise, cause when people have the since of being misled, it has a funny way of finding it's truth nested in someones lap. And for consumers who do their research, not only is Autosave affected, so is the dealership who is affected.

becuase they are your sales people NOT Autosave Administratos.

So now, we don't trust our dealerships with used car warranties and how can we refer a friend or family member to that dealership, when experienced consumers are having a *** of a time trying to get a company to fulfill it's expectations? I've never seen anything like this, but i do know that, misleading and giving the wrong sense of security to the comsumers always ends in the failure of a company.

Guest

I unfortunately got suckered into getting this warranty on a used car I bought for my soon to commute to college in. Sure enough, 6 months later, the water pump breaks (my mechanic had noticed it was leaking for at least 3 of those months, but I knew the warranty wouldn't cover it until it actually broke).

Of course, when it did it was late and night and my son had to call home at 1 am to get help. :(

Dealing with them was even worse! My son's car sat at the shop for 2 DAYS getting approval, and when they did, they low-balled the hours he job took.

When I called and asked for a supervisor to speak to, he initially started insulting my intelligence ("you can read, can't you?"), and ultimately hung up on me :eek when I told him I was going to give his company the kind of advertising it deserved. So here I am, fulfilling my promise - which is more than AutoSave did for me!!

Don you should give us a call at the office, since you state that you are one of our dealers then you do have the number. I would like to speak to you to see what axctually happened in your case, bcause as you know all of our calls are recorded and we could refer back to the customer, date, call etc.

The ball is in your court Don, give us a call lets see what happened.

Thansk,

Bob Adams.

Yes this is so true, I`am a small used car dealer in a small town, I wanted to offer my customers some peace of mind so I included these warranties in the price of the vehicle, worked great untill we had owr first claim, what a joke they had so many loop holes that I just paid for the repair, they won. They were very rude and used faul language with me also, this shows what type of individuals run this opperation, I am curantly in contact with the Attorney Generals and we are trying to deal with this company accordingly,

Its a shame there are people out there that would do this to a nother person but there is.

Do your reasearch before buying. Also if you have been taken by this outfit, which i`m almost sure you have make contact with the Attorney Generals office in your area or contact the Better bureau office, working together we can get them shut down and the people in charge put in jail where the belong.

Autosave warranty a false sense of security

Before buying a Autosave warranty for your vehicle take there contract to your mechanic and ask him or her to read it over you will find like I did the hard way that they mostly only cover what are called "hard parts " parts that don`t normally fail. Although there adds state they cover your motor and transmission if it should fail, but there contract most of the time gives them a way out and they take it.

Times are tough enough don`t let them take advantage of you. If you feel they already have turn them in to the Attorney Generals office or the Bureau of Consumer Protection. Its this writers opinion that this company is operating border line if not over the line fraudulently.

Protect your self and your hard earned money , do your homework, shop around there are good companies out there but its my opinion that Autosave is not one of them. Remember if they ripped you off turn them in, there is strength in numbers .

i baught an autosave warrenty. when my transmission went out they said it was clutchpaks and warrenty did not cover it.

the shop told them it was a faulty transmission. so then they sent someone to take photos. shop told me they were looking for a reason not to pay the claim. but my truck was not modified in anyway so that did them no good.

and i always change my oil every 3000. miles. so they couldnt get me there. so they just fefused to pay for it they said i shoulda read the contract.

that it does not realy cover anything and they laughed at me. these bastards are real thieves.

Guest

uatosave took me also. lol.

they said my transmission was not covered cause the clutch packs went out. thats all there is to a rebuild kit is clutches. when a made a complaint on a website. they said i gave them false oil change records and they fallsified the ecords and posted them online.

they also said i thretened them. but all this is what they did to me.

Guest

DO NOT BUY AUTOSAVE!!! Mechanics hate it because they take too long to inspection the car, their coverage is VERY VERY VERY limited and they look for excuses not to pay. DO NOT BUY!

Guest

Truly fraudulent... I had to find out the hard way.

I took my car in to have the transmission examined, the dealer said I needed a new one, however AUTOSAVE would cover it as long as I prove I had kept up with my oil changes. Presented them with all of my records, days later AUTOSAVE denied coverage saying that I missed an oil change. I gave them the missing record a second time and then they told me that they would send an inspector to examine the transmission. They waited a few days to contact the dealer, had them disassemble my transmission without my authorization (which is illegal), I find out a week later that they will not honor my warranty... saying that the clutch packs failed, and they don't cover them, I have to buy a new transmission. I asked to see this report in writing several times, and I have received nothing. It's been 2 months and still not a word, after letters from myself and the Attorney General.

Later I find out from the dealer, The Autobarn, where I bought the car, that the warranty was not even for my car, they knowingly over charged me for it, and that they never did inspect the car, that they told me what was wrong with the car to wash their hands of it. I was shocked that their own people told me that even while I had a witness with me. Yet the dealer refuses to take any real action to rectify this situation.

AUTOSAVE and The Autobarn are nothing but deceiving crooks!

I would add that Autosave do not have their warranties underwritten. I realised the pitfalls of this the hard way, when under their previous incarnation (Autosave UK Ltd), they sold us a car which despite their supposed "120-point" check had the wrong alternator installed, causing the power-steering to fail on a roundabout within a week of purchasing it.

We returned it to them for them to deal with under their warranty, but whilst they had it Autosave UK Ltd went bankrupt. Autosave Affinity Partners then took over Autosave UK Ltd and refused to fix it as they were a different company as the warranty was not underwritten they "couldn't" carry out a repair. At first they even tried to refuse to return the car which we had purchased from them.

They were exceptionally rude to us (these were the same staff whom we had returned our car to prior to the change of ownership) and only fixed the car when we threatened legal action (although once again they fitted the wrong alternator and so we had to pay for the repair all over again).

AFAIK Autosave still refuse to provide underwritten warranties, and I wouldn't be surprised if next time they are in financial difficulties they deal with it by selling out their customers in this kind of way. They

In reference to comments, 1 & 2, dated 10/28/09. I'm happy to say that AUTOSAVE did call the dealership back after 10/28/09.

They advised Lasco Ford on what they would repair and I took the vehicle back for the repair. I have the vehicle back now and it is running good.

Guest

My vehicle was running rough at idle and had a check engine light on. I took vehicle back to the dealership (Lasco Ford) from where I purchased it with the AUTOSAVE warranty.

I provided Lasco Ford with all of my maintenance paperwork for the AUTOSAVE warranty. Later in the day I was contacted by a Lasco Ford service adviser who told me that AUTOSAVE would not cover any of the repair (replace left cylinder head) that would cost between $4500 - $5000. I contacted AUTOSAVE and spoke with Andrew who stated that they do not cover repairs that have a TSB'S (Technical Service Bulletins) on them. Andrew advised me to check on my contract, section 5, where one sentence states "This Warranty is secondary to other manufacture warranties, TSB's or recalls".

Even the service advisor at Lasco dosen't understand how the repair is not covered by that sentence.

AUTOSAVE is secondary there is no other coverage on this repair.

The AUTOSAVE owner should be prosecuted for fraud. This is truly a crime.

Will not refund my money after they said they would

My husband and I bought this warranty when we purchased our jeep in sep. 2007.

My daughters and I where hit by a woman and our jeep was a total loss nov. 2007. I called Kelly the ADMINISTRATOR at autosave as it says to do on my contract. She was so friendly and willing to help.

She told me to send in the police report, insurance report, and a letter telling them to cancel my warranty because of a total loss. I DID!!! She said to wait 12 weeks for my check to arrive by mail. I called her 13 weeks later and she said it was canceled in dec.2007 but she doesn't write the checks the owner does.

I got to reading the contract more closely and you can only take them to court in Michigan. I would love to get all the people that this company has screwed out of their hard earned money together and file a lawsuit in Michigan against them.

BEWARE AUTOSAVE IS A SCAM!!!

I got the BBB involved in this and he sent back a letter to them saying that I would get my money in june. Well yesterday the company that I financed my jeep through, called me and said that they had a check for the warranty which they had already been paid for and that I should come and get the check and that they would cash it for me.

Thank God for what few honest people there is left in this world. :grin :grin

AUTOSAVE crooks, won't return money

I purchased 5 yr/100,000 warranty in August 07 for my Spyder GT. In October, I had to get rid of the car due to "uncovered" problems.

I traded it in for an Audi. I called Autosave to transfer my warranty to my new vehicle and they said that it is only tranferable to the new owner of the Spyder, not to another vehicle for me. I asked them for a prorated refund being that I purchased a 5 yr warranty and only had it for 2 months.

They declined, saying it wasn't their policy to refund customers. What a bunch of crooks!

Autosave Warranty

I had a claim recently. Autosave asked for my maintenence receipts for the vehicle.

I had them and faxed them over. The claim was paid in 3 days and my car was back by the end of the week and the transmission works real good now.

I think if you dont take care of your car and something goes wrong and you dont have the stuff they ask for you can only be mad at yourself.

The shop said they always pay on time and have fixed a few before for this company.

I can get around now. 12-17-2007

it's not that you don't have the records..becuase majority of us keep the records for the 1st year or two you own the car. But it's not until 3 & 4 years later, where you have issues, and finding an oil change receipt from 3-4 years earlier..is where they are getting over on people..

GO TO THE COMPANIES WEBSITE..and click customer feed back.. and look how many you get ...
