I think it's a scam, why have warranty protection when you have to have a problem that qualifies for a claim? I bought the truck mainly because I thought I'd be covered for at least 3 years should things go wrong.
I had no idea this was going to happen.
The only reason I found the issue was because I wanted to prepare my truck to pull my trailer for the first time, so I wanted it in prime condition. The problem was found before I had broken down somewhere on a major expressway and saved me towing and other expenses.

Verified Reviewer | Chicago, IllinoisI've been screwed
I had bought a used 2017 Ford F-150 in April of 2024 and when I picked up the truck, I received nothing about the 3-year, 45,000-mile warranty. Well, I called the dealer 4 days later and was told I would get something from Auto Save in 60 days.
Well, 60 days came and went and I received nothing from Auto Save. I called the dealer again and was told the policy hadn't been posted; I would then receive something in 60 days. Well, on the 1st of August, I received an additive and two cards with the maintenance policy. Now, I had gotten the Carfax on this vehicle and the last major work on the engine was at 100,000 miles.
So, I thought that since I'm going on vacation and pulling my trailer, I should get it ready to tow without any problems. Well, that's when my adventure started. I took it to a shop and they were going to replace the plugs and coils and said there was a leak in one of my engine cylinders. It turned out to be a burnt exhaust valve.
Well, I submitted a claim and was waiting for an answer for over 48 hours. I called AutoSave, and the employee was very rude. He told me they didn't know if they would cover the expense and said if they do, they would only cover $2000 of a $5200 job. I was in shock as I thought I was going to be good for at least 3 years.
They told me that it might not be covered because of normal wear and tear! I ask anybody with knowledge of engines how one can differentiate a burnt valve being from normal wear and tear! Well, oil change receipts and pictures sent of the damage, and two days ago AutoSave called me and told me I was denied due to no actual mechanical failure! I would have been better off driving my truck and breaking down pulling a trailer on a freeway or somewhere else.
Then maybe they would approve my claim. I'm looking into hiring an attorney and recommend not using these people - it is nothing but a scam.
I still never received the fine print and even went to the website, but there is nothing on the site about their terms and conditions. I was not prudent in staying on top of this, but I trusted what the dealer was telling me.
User's recommendation: Please, for your own sake do not purchase this insurance
Uncovered valve seat
After finding out that a valve seat apparently exploded and caused my engine failure I was told that the valves would be covered but the valve seat was not. When I explained that I shut my van off and it never restarted I was told that either I lived in a really "loud" part of ny or I was playing "my music" so loud that I didn't hear it.
I explained that not only did I live on Long Island (suburb) but that I did not even have my radio on...to which I was basically called a liar. I called back and asked to speak to a supervisor...I left a message which was not returned.
I called again the following day to complain about the rude customer service and the supervisor was just as rude! I had to practically beg for an apology after being treated so rudely!

The worst warranty company
As a repair facility owner. I would just like to advise everyone that of all the warranty companies this is by far the worst one to deal with.
Buy their meaningless warranty at your own risk. They run a scam. They will sell you a piece of paper that is it. It is totally worthless and they have zero technical knowledge about anything.
Scam 100%. Most warranty companies are bad and just want to collect a premium and not pay out but this company is the worst of the worse. Just terrible.
Bob, who is a claim adjuster, has zero customer service skills which is slightly more then his technical knowledge about how automobiles work. A total buffoon.
Autosave - Camshaft Phaser Review from Goshen, Indiana
I had my truck for 4 months and the camshaft phacers went out, i called the warranty at auto save and said that the camshaft was covered then two days later they called my mechanic and told him that the phacers were not covered only the camshaft so whats the difference anyway i stuck right now with a mechanical problem that can cost me over 2500 hundred dollars and the warranty will not do anything about their service really suck!!!
Autosave is terrible! Please read this before signing a contract!
Agree. Should've read the contract closer, but I trusted the dealer on the Autosave warranty. Had a metal part fail and enter my engine. Caused catastrophic damage. Autosave said all the damaged parts were covered, IF they were damaged by a covered part. Apparently the fuel pump was not covered.
Upon further review of the contract, and after reading reviews of Autosave (and others), it became apparent that Autosave does not like to cover parts that are likely to fail. What???
Thought the whole idea of a warranty was to cover unlucky consumers who suffered big issues with there cars! I ended up throwing away > $9K on the car.
Called Autosave rep to try and re-coup prorated contract. Apparently it is commonplace (by good warranty companies I was told) to pro-rate the contract when a person sells or junks a car. Guess what? Not with Autosave!
After hearing all this from the rep, I told him I was disappointed. What was his response? He hung up on me! Class act!
So, thinking of Autosave? Please consider an alternative warranty company. Do your homework (Google!) You will see all the issues with Autosave. They are truly a horrible company, from top to bottom.
Stay away!
WILL NOT FIX CAR THAT'S UNDER WARRANTY!!!
Auto Save is TRASH! They do not honor their word and are in the business of ripping people off.
The customer service is horrible, I spoke with Bob, Andrew and Carrie, they all need to learn how to talk to PAYING CUSTOMERS. They don't appreciate your business and will get you all caught up in this *** contract that you signed. Their reasoning behind not fixing my engine is beyond me. It's a reason why they are NOT registered with the BBB!
This company sucks and I strongly urge dealership not to partner with them!!! Good luck everyone, you are truly dealing with a bunch of {{REDACTED}}!
AUTO SAVE SCAM - WON'T CANCEL WARRANTY
Hello Everyone!
I bought car about 6 months ago and a shady dealer lured my wife into buying warranty for $1200 extra. Dealer says you can cancel it any time if you do not like and can get your money back if car is totaled or sold.
I sold car about 6 months later, called Auto Save, denied to refund prorated amount.
Some one please start a class action lawsuit. You might win big time. Dealers got you into this warranty and does not tell the truth.
THIS IS A SCAM GOING AROUND IN CONJUNCTION WITH SHADY DEALERSHIPS, DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM.

Mr Sam Goncuoglu
I Sam Goncuoglu, president of Daytona Cars in South Gate California.will like to add one more complaint,to the hundreds of complaints against Auto Save Warranty. this company they are crooks and dishonest to make business with, they owe me $25000 in cancellation of warranties they never pay me and as of now i am still waiting for David the representative of Auto Save to respond.
i advice you not to buy any warranty from this company.
life is already hard enough with the economic situation to lose money and have a loss. do not even think about doing business with this company*******
Autosave extended warranty
PURCHASED EXTENDED WARRANTY TO FIND OUT YOU CANT CANCELL IT! OF COURSE DEALERSHIP WILL NOT TELL YOU THIS.
PURCHASES PLENTY OF EXTENDED WARRANTIES FOR VEHICLES AND NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM! CONTACTING BBB TO FILE COMPLAINT, WHAT A JOKE OF A WARRANTY. DO NOT BUY!! CALLED AUTOSAVE AND GUY CHUCKLED CAUSE HE PROB HAD PLENTY OF CALLS OF SAME SITUATION.
SO IM OUT 2,000 DOLLARS FROM AUTOSAVE AND DEALERSHIP. CALLED DEALERSHIP AND NO LUCK. CALLED FINANCE BANK AND NO LUCK. FIND out you need to read the fine, fine print.
It says only cancelled if vehicle is stollen or repo. If i didnt have good credit i would of had it repo so autosave would lose.
Enough loopholes to get out of paying about any claim
Do not get tricked into buying an Autosave warranty. These guys operate fringe legally.
It seems like a fair price for a warranty, but that's because dealers mark it up to a price that seems plausible. Since it is technically such a cheap warranty(actual price is strictly confidential for good reason), the only way these *** are still in business is by writing a contract with so many exit clauses that they can get out of paying almost any claim. For example, I bought an extended warranty on a 2001 dodge 2500 diesel manual transmission for $1799.99. Six months later, my synchronizers went out, which are covered in the warranty.
Unfortunately, they just wore out, instead of breaking. The claims rep said that "this is not a performance warranty," so it's not covered. Even though my transmission hardly shifted, I could technically get it in gear with some work, but the average driver would be S.O.L. The claims rep said that I should have just driven the tranny till it broke.
However, there is a clause in the fine print that says that if you know there is a problem and fail to fix it, and the transmission goes out because of that, they will not cover the warranty. You can't win with these *** On top of that, they are very rude, disrespectful, and take forever to send out an adjuster to the repair shop. Another note, they require you to change the oil and filter every 4 months or 4000 miles, whatever comes first, and it has to be done by a licensed oil changer or repair shop-you don't count!!!!! In my factory manual, the recommended interval is every 5 months or 7500 miles.
It gets expensive if you only drive 2000 miles in 4 months and a professional oil change costs $70.00!!!!!!
Autosave warranty a false sense of security
Before buying a Autosave warranty for your vehicle take there contract to your mechanic and ask him or her to read it over you will find like I did the hard way that they mostly only cover what are called "hard parts " parts that don`t normally fail. Although there adds state they cover your motor and transmission if it should fail, but there contract most of the time gives them a way out and they take it.
Times are tough enough don`t let them take advantage of you. If you feel they already have turn them in to the Attorney Generals office or the Bureau of Consumer Protection. Its this writers opinion that this company is operating border line if not over the line fraudulently.
Protect your self and your hard earned money , do your homework, shop around there are good companies out there but its my opinion that Autosave is not one of them. Remember if they ripped you off turn them in, there is strength in numbers .
Will not refund my money after they said they would
My husband and I bought this warranty when we purchased our jeep in sep. 2007.
My daughters and I where hit by a woman and our jeep was a total loss nov. 2007. I called Kelly the ADMINISTRATOR at autosave as it says to do on my contract. She was so friendly and willing to help.
She told me to send in the police report, insurance report, and a letter telling them to cancel my warranty because of a total loss. I DID!!! She said to wait 12 weeks for my check to arrive by mail. I called her 13 weeks later and she said it was canceled in dec.2007 but she doesn't write the checks the owner does.
I got to reading the contract more closely and you can only take them to court in Michigan. I would love to get all the people that this company has screwed out of their hard earned money together and file a lawsuit in Michigan against them.
BEWARE AUTOSAVE IS A SCAM!!!
AUTOSAVE crooks, won't return money
I purchased 5 yr/100,000 warranty in August 07 for my Spyder GT. In October, I had to get rid of the car due to "uncovered" problems.
I traded it in for an Audi. I called Autosave to transfer my warranty to my new vehicle and they said that it is only tranferable to the new owner of the Spyder, not to another vehicle for me. I asked them for a prorated refund being that I purchased a 5 yr warranty and only had it for 2 months.
They declined, saying it wasn't their policy to refund customers. What a bunch of crooks!
Autosave Warranty
I had a claim recently. Autosave asked for my maintenence receipts for the vehicle.
I had them and faxed them over. The claim was paid in 3 days and my car was back by the end of the week and the transmission works real good now.
I think if you dont take care of your car and something goes wrong and you dont have the stuff they ask for you can only be mad at yourself.
The shop said they always pay on time and have fixed a few before for this company.
I can get around now. 12-17-2007

We are a shop having the same issues with Bob Adams? (I'm sure it's a fake name).
They sent us an approval but now that the work is done I've called them a dozen times and nobody will call us back.
I managed to call and finally and by sheer luck get "Bob" on the phone and he tried to laugh at us and treat us like ***. They have not paid as promised and now we are stuck with the customers car because they were depending on these proceeds to pay for the repair.
I had to call them and tell them my car was being towed by the repair shop to get them to pay
Gaskets covered on my warranty...not mine, because its a scilicone gasket...I feel there will always be an exception omitting coverage on any item thatneeds repair...Worthless contract, $1280, paid cash, still "paying as I go", as the finance manager used to sell me
