Resolved: AutoNation Toyota Winter Park scammed me out of $1,224.37
- - APR was misrepresented and interest hidden in the car price.
- - I signed a modified price; the contract differed and there was no itemized list.
They reworked the contract and fixed the errors. To future car buyers: read the contract very carefully and don't rush.
The financial underwriters deceptively and incorrectly told me I qualified at a higher APR than I actually received. They shifted the potential cost of the interest into the price of the car and did not inform me. The agreed price on the first document that I initially signed on was a lie. When I examined the second document, the actual binding contract, I noticed a large discrepancy. Unfortunately, due to my trusting nature, I signed off on this modified price without fully understanding what they had done, and did not discover the deception until the next day when I examined the numbers more closely.
I visited the dealer several times, and they would not provide me with an itemized list of what I actually paid for.
Hindsight is 20/20. To any person out there shopping for a car, READ THE CONTRACT over and over, and realize that they WILL RIP YOU OFF if you give them the chance. While there are many good, hard-working people there, keep in mind this is a business. They deceptively took money from me, and they can do it to you.
Please make smart decisions and do not act in haste. I am writing this review to help others before they make the same mistake as me.
