PLEASE BUYER BEWARE! SCAMMERS’ Poor customer service, bad faith, misrepresentation, dishonest, unreliable they are just CROOKED. These are just several problems that my husband and I have against this dealership (Jason the owner).
They sold us a vehicle (LEMON) that they claim was inspected thoroughly before they even put it on their website and advertise them for sale. After we purchased the F250 in July 2017 Jason placed us in a loaner truck for over a week to fix the some minor repairs (Jason Claimed), but this vehicle was returned three times before my husband was able to drive it for exhaust, not pulling, then transmission 1st week in November we picked the truck up again. Two months later he was out of $1,300.00 (To Columbus Custom Exhaust) for fixing the exhaust system that Auto Barn claimed they fixed. He called them to advise them of the problem no answer left voicemail no return call.
My husband went 10 May 2018 to Precision Tune in Columbus, GA to get his oil change as soon as we left for vacation the road the truck began knocking under the hood. We called Precision Tune and they advised us to bring the truck back, but we were two hours away. Ford dealership diesel mechanic looked at the truck and stated that they placed the wrong weight oil in the diesel engine. After talking with the company and writing in they wouldn’t take ownership for the motor knocking, just the wrong weight of the oil. Ford stating that the F250 would need the small block on the motor in May of 2018.
We then placed the truck in the shop $12,000.00 later, we found out that the motor in the truck was just a hot mess. Screws and bolts were missing, hoses were taped together, and other parts were missing from the motor that was supposed to be on the motor from Auto Barn. We tried to call (Jason) the owner cell phone and the office number at Auto Barn no answer or he was out of the office. Auto Barn sells vehicles that are in extremely dangerous condition. It is now September 2018 and we are supposed to pick the truck up tomorrow. Making notes for a whole year and might get to enjoy it October 2018. Please stay away from Auto Barn.
Auto Barn - Ram Truck Review
Fraud, identity theft, bad faith and misrepresentation. These are just several problems that my wife and I have against this dealership.
They knowingly sell vehicles that inspected thoroughly before they even put them up on their website and advertise them for sale. They sell vehicles that are in extremely dangerous condition as they originally did with a Mercedes Benz G Wagon that we purchased outright form them. They then proceeded to fraudulently run my wife's credit without her consent. Why would you need to run her credit when she once again...
Purchased the vehicle outright!? After admitting bad faith on Auto Barns end. The owner of this establishment then tried to back pedal by not giving us a FULL REFUND after we demanded it immediately after the purchase date. Instead they wanted to swap out the defective, rusted out and dangerous Mercedes that they had originally sold us, for a Dodge Ram 3500 of the same value.
Once that vehicle was in our possession, we had MAJOR mechanical and electrical issues. As a result, I was pulled over and ticketed by police for tag lights out, brake and tail lights out, and 3rd high mount stop light out. I demanded that Auto Barn pay for the tickets because of their so called "inspected vehicles" defaults with the truck. Meanwhile, My wife and I have not had our truck for 2 weeks and have not been contacted on the status of our truck.
When they tried repairing our truck the first time, they damaged the vehicle even further. They rigged, spliced into and left a rats nest of wiring harness in a gaggle just hanging from the bottom of the truck. Now they have the truck for a second time and two weeks later, have yet to hear what's going on with the repairs. I demand a FULL REFUND, plus court and attorney costs for legal representation from the citations that were issued because of their faulty and failed equipment and have already filed a complaint with the BBB.
It's pretty pathetic when the owner of this establishment brags about getting sued over 40 some odd times and it doesn't phase him one bit! Noted that the "F" rating from the BBB says a lot about Auto Barn. The owner refuses to talk to clients and even blocks their telephone numbers when they try to call him. With the Mercedes Benz my wife and I waited almost 3 months before we even received the title to the Mercedes.
Now that we have the truck it's been almost a month now and we STILL haven't received the title yet for that. BUYER BEWARE!!!!
Buyer Beware
Auto Barn, LLC in Newnan GA knowingly sold me a car with a bad transmission. I have bought older model vehicles that don't have more than about 160k miles in the past. Cars.com is full of listings for them. I am realistic and expect to have some mechanical repair/replacement as I realize that older model cars are going to have things that go wrong and need mechanical repairs.
I found an older model Audi listed by Auto Barn, LLC of Newnan on Cars.com. I drove the car and it drove fine and was very clean. Not a lot of scratches and clean on the inside. It goes without saying that since I am stuck with a car that has a bad transmission and have only had it in my possession for one day, I am a dummy for buying the car! No doubt their response to this review will be that it is my fault because I signed a contract and bought the car “as is”. They hide behind the "as is" sale. They hand you a list of all the things that could go wrong on a used car. I emphasize “could” because this transmission problem didn't "go wrong" on the car after I bought it. It was already wrong with the car when they sold it to me and they knew it! I asked them to look at the Audi before I picked it up from the lot because I had read something on the Internet about Audis (yes after I bought it-again I own up to my part of this which is being ***). In my defense, as a consumer I have the reasonable expectation that when buying an advertised car from an established dealership with a high Cars.com rating that it is not going to have something as significantly wrong with it as a bad transmission when I drive it off the lot.
After I asked the salesman to look into what I had read online he was quick to tell me he would and that he would call me back. That is the last time I heard from the Salesman. Auto Barn kept the car for a week. They wouldn’t return phone calls or give me a status on the car when I called them. When I did get them on the phone they hurriedly told me they would call me back and never did. Not one time in a week did they call me back! All they would tell me is that the car was “checked into service”. When I was finally told the car was ready, they did not mention a transmission issue, or any issue for that matter. I brought the car home and had a mechanic look at it because it was “skipping”. The mechanic told me in less than one hour of having it in his care that the transmission was bad. Auto barn had the car for a week and never told me about the bad transmission. They had to have known after a week of it being in their shop that the transmission was bad.
I know I bought the car as is. Believe me; I am painfully aware of that fact. Again, as a consumer I had the reasonable expectation that an established dealership would not be advertising and selling a car that had something as significantly wrong with it as a bad transmission. I needed a car for my daughter in college. I bought one from Auto Barn and still need a car for my daughter in college.
I asked them to please give me my money back. They have mechanics on staff and access to parts at a much lower cost to fix than what I will have to pay. They could then resell the car as a viable vehicle. The "finance manager" told me that he would give me full trade in value for the car which is less than half of what I paid for it. Honestly, I wouldn't trust another car from them.
Hard lesson learned. Don’t do it! Buyer Beware! Not a place I would recommend to anyone car shopping. Based on other Auto Barn responses to reviews I have read, I’m sure there defense will be to deflect the bad transmission and say something negative about me. That however, doesn't change the fact that they sold me a car they advertised as sales worthy but knew had a bad transmission. There is no way they didn't know. I asked them to look at it for me and they kept it for a week!!!! All my mechanic had to do was look at it for an hour. Yes, I admit to being a dummy!!! Please don't be one too!!!
- That they sold me a worthless car
