Resolved: Extremely unreliable service
- - Booked 2+ weeks ahead; $100 deposit.
- - ATX didn't unload on time; no-show; calls unanswered.
- - Refund discussed; no full return; later arrival offered.
Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. We demanded a full refund of the deposit (after repeated attempts by the company to make excuses and offer arrangements to show up at a later time) and they finally complied.
Our Daughter/Husband rented a U-Haul and hired another local company to load the truck. They have 2 young children (3 yoa and 4 mos.). The U-Haul had to be returned by 8PM in Austin. ATX was supposed to begin unloading the truck between 2-2:30PM.
ATX never showed up and repeated calls to their office went unanswered. I left 3 messages on their voicemail as well. Finally, someone called our Daughter making excuses that they "were slammed today", etc. He told her he could get a couple of guys to show up within an hour or so.
This was around 5:00PM.. Our Daughter told the guy to refund their deposit. He kept trying to negotiate a partial refund and they would show up hours later. It was explained to him that the truck had to be returned, etc.
Finally, our Daughter's Husband got on the phone and demanded the refund. So, our Daughter and her Husband relied (thankfully) on Friends and great new neighbors to unload the truck with them.
Apparently, no one from ATX has a phone or the ability to contact customers when they don't show up for jobs. In todays world, there is no excuse for this type of behavior or poor communication from ANY business.
To make matters worse (in my opinion), they represent their company as "Firefighters". Another very poor representation of that profession and those they serve.
Do yourself a favor and call someone else for your moving needs!
