Major, time consuming, needless tech bumblingng

Last evening from about 8:30PM until about 1:00AM this morning, i.e. about 4 hours I had to contact 4 technicians before finding one who solved my, easy, tech problem, and he did it in about 15 minutes. The rest of the "advanced" technicians that I had called earlier not only didn't know what they were doing, they made matters much worse and worse and worse. The last tech sorted things out easily in quick time. He was excellent!! Knew just what to do and did it in about 15 minutes, as I mentioned. (I didn't get his name, but I did complete a survey and his work should be on record, I hope). If you can find out who the other "technicians" were, they need to be sent back to computer school or retired. The whole, absurd process through that 4 hours was exhausting. The last introductory tech, Joe Wright, was very good sought out and explained things well, I assume, to the advanced tech who so expertly got my computer working in good order quickly. The unqualified tech just prior to him (the last one who was so good), left my computer so bad that I didn't know how to and couldn't "get into" my computer. None of my icons worked, not one. The first usdeless tech, by the way, was American here in America. After that, all the rest were in India, as usual. If you have any record of my calls last night, you'll see that I had to make 4 or 5 before I had success. Let me repeat: The last tech was super and fixed everything in good order, just fine. Checked my bank account and saw a strange payee. Same date and amount I paid ATT for my cell phone service. As usual, paying my monthly bill involved tech support. Why? I have not been able to sign in to my ATT account all year, that's why. I still cannot sign in. The "tech support" person informed me that their system only works with Internet Explorer. I called for service regarding my PC. I spent hours on the phone with them for 2 days and was repeatedly disconnected with no follow up and having to repeatedly restart the process. The technicians were impatient and rude. They never were able to fix the problem. I finally called another company that fixed my computer within an hour. Do not waste your money on this service.

ConnecTech Service is what AT&;T calls an 'add-on'. Short version, they charged me for service that should have been included in installation and have continued to bill me monthly for years - NO way to contact them. Latest attempt I was on hold for two hours and never spoke to a representative. I finally had to close my credit acc't and open a new one.

AT&T has not contacted me about my review. I cancelled my subscription for its IT technical support. I have nothing more to add to my review.

Foreign technicians are often difficult to understand, arrogant and rude. Recently, the assigned technician does not have the expertise to fix the problem. Long delays are encountered for a simple fix. The two-step process is annoying. For example, an initial call is made for assistance; however, the customer must first speak to a "sup" before being assigned to a technician. The "hand over" of the case from "sup" to technician is met with another delay while waiting for the technician to pick up on the "chat". In 2017 and 2018, I had Connec Tech service and spoke to a technician in North America. Now, when I request a technician in North America my request is denied with the excuse that the "sup" does not have this access. This I doubt. I will look for another technical support service.

I truly believe that you don't care for your job. Interrupt, the ppl will not pay attention. ATT this is the worst service ever I can't believe that ATT has a contract with them. This is the problem and this will cause you to lose a lot of customers.

AT&;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;T website advises me to call Att Connectech for help and advice. So, I called and got incredibly dumb AI voice response that understood nothing I was asking for. Had lousy canned advice telling me to go back to the website and then hung up on me. For over $300 plus per month AT&T customer service really sucks.

I subscribed to them as I was having a network issue that AT&;;;;;;;;;;;;;;T support could not solve and this was their suggestion. Connect Tech was NOT able to solve the problem either. By then I had subscribed for a year. I tried to cancel and was told to wait for the year to be up or I would pay yet an additional fee for EARLY TERMINATION. I waited till a month before the expiration date of the contract, and tried again to cancel and now was told to avoid an extra fee I had to call on the EXACT day the contract ended to avoid more fees. I ended up paying the additional fee and submitting this review. In Summary, they did not and could not solve the issue I had engaged them for, and then on top of the fee to engage them paid an additional fee to get rid of them. Find an alternative!!

I would not recommend the annual contract @ 15/mo. Pay the one time fee and see how they do.

They did okay on the first problem I had so I went with the contract instead of a one time fee. The next two problems I had were not as severe but the Tech on each did not seem as experienced. In fact on the third problem was unable to fix it and I went online and researched it and fixed it myself. I have enough PC knowledge for minor problems, and I don't do anything that requires changing the Registry. When I signed up I asked about if I would get a notice before the annual automatic renewal and they said yes. I did not. Except for the $15 charge on your statement, they are almost invisible. When I called to cancel after the year was up, they offered me the service at $10/mo and it covers all your stuff including phone. I still cancelled as I felt the whole thing was kind of shady as ATT can't help you with questions and just gives you the C-T phone number to call.

The company charged me almost $400 for long term support. Unfortunately, I allow the Connectech rep to remotely log into my computer. My system was not the same after that and I had to take it to a repair shop to repair the damage that connect tech caused. I can hardly believe that AT&;;;;;;;;T is affiliated with such a disreputable company. My complaint is that Connect Tech continues to call me when I've asked them not to. They call my home number and my cell number. It's too much and borderline harassment!
