Atlantic Shutters guaranteed the shutters & paint job. Now nickle & dimeing me!
10 pairs of shutters for the windows on the house had a guarantee for the shutters and the paint job. Warranty is only 4 years old.
They did not respond promptly, I had to chase them. Once they responded, the didn't send a sales rep out as promised to take pictures, I had to spend my time to take them. The replacement shutters were offered by they wanted me to pay a $50 freight charge for the replacement shutters. It was there painting process that they admitted had a problem.
Why should I pay to ship the replacements to me? They are refusing to pay for the hardware to be transferred from the defective shutters to the new shutters, for the shutters to be remounted on the house and for the disposal of the old shutters (my trash company wants $50). Why should I pay? They admit this is their fault.
Don't be fooled by their promised of the guarantee. They will try to wiggle out of paying for anything they can.
Replacements haven't arrived yet, it will take 4 - 6 weeks. Hope I don't have a problem with them in a few years!

I just purchased an order for two jobs in florida. They arrived in good shape but when we went to install them we realized they are made of press cardboard not the "composite wood" they advertised.
It basically Masonite (like peg board, formed into shutter forms. We live in florida and I do not see these shutters performing well in our tropical climate. The screws they sent to mount the hinges to the shutter were this and cheap we could hardly see how the would hold up so we purchased thicker courser threaded screws. These shutters were not inexpensive but they could not be manufactured any cheaper.
Buyer beware.
