I have been a student at AIU Online since 2012. I decided to go back to school due to my interest in IT.

I made it through the GS courses with a 3.8 GPA. As the courses progressed so did the difficulty and the help I needed from the Professors. Once I made it to College Algebra I found that it was quite challenging, so i called my SA and she was very helpful, we discussed possible options and the necessary steps were taken to get me through the course. After passing CA I passed Calc and Discrete Math.

The Professors are experienced professionals with a drive to dedicate time to students. Im about to start my Senior year and the classes are very challenging, but im learning to write software. My FA accounts line up and Ive never had an issue. I was actually planning on attempting to change Universities (because of the level of difficulty) until I researched a couple other private U's.

Now I see how lucky I am to be an AIU student. You sure you *** whiners are giving us the whole story?

I've been enrolled since 2012 without issue. It amazes me that people always want to point fingers, grow the *** up!!

AIU Abroad School

Has anyone heard about AIU abroad school program. I plan to send my daughter abroad using their service, but after reading all these complaints I am not sure if I should.

Most these complaints are about internet schooling, however, no one has mentioned anything about their abroad schooling. I be glad to hear from someone who have had experience with them. Their website does ot mention any price, and I am not sure I should ask them to help me for any grants.

There are awful stories about how they have cheated prior students in getting loans or grants. Please let me know

My advice when it comes to AIU is simple...avoid them like the plague! They as well as a few other schools have been under investigation by the Us government for aggressive lending practices along with a number of other nasty practices.

They are known to be very difficult to deal with and withdraw is a nightmare. I had to withdraw due to a medical emergency (I am diabetic) I had medical documentation and they refused failing me in my courses instead.

AIU Online

AUI will not stop calling me. I've told them numerous times that I was not interested.

I don't know how my number got passed along to them. I had been on Careerbuilders most of the day looking for employment. All of a sudden I am getting calls from every online university that you can think of. I asked AIU to take me off their call list, they said they would, but still just keep calling.

I have about four messages a day.

I told them again last night. I am going to have to report them to the DO NOT CALL list.

Hey just letting you know that most of these schools have vendors. Carreerbuilder is one of them.

you most likely did not read or pay attention to what you were doing. There is an X that says no thanks or a button on the bottom of the page that you should have clicked off.

AIU needs to change! I got charged $4,292.10 for just starting my paperwork!

First, let me tell my military folks who are abroad if you want an education make sure it is not this college AIU! they are liars, manipulators and their staff is trained to get your money.

Back in 2006 I was stationed on the USS John C. Stennis and I was in and out of port. We had to go to San Diego, CA a couple times to test the ship. I enrolled in the college during my tenure with the United States Navy.

I wanted to get an education and take a few courses. AIU rep contacted me and said that they do have military tuition assistance and for me to send my military tuition voucher. I did, after they got my 1000 dollars of tuition assistance they did not contact me I would try to login to class and it will give me a error message reading financial hold or see financial aid. While they were insisting on getting my tuition assistance voucher once they got it they stop communcation with me completely.

They said that I did not get approve for the loan, and that I won't be charged for the enrollment process. The women stated, that I will be okay I already paid $1000 dollars. It is funny because now their saying that I was awarded $1000 dollars which is a LIE! I couldn't even get a loan but I would get an award?

No, *** people the $1000 dollars is what you took from the military my tuition assistance money! They lied repeatedly and stop communication with me I was then on a three month deployment and I did not receive any letters stating that I owe the college. Two years later when I am trying to purchase a home I see that they passed me over to American Collection Systems. Collecting $4,292.10 for what?

for not getting the loan, not going to the college so they will take it into their own hands and mark my credit! I called and spoke to ACS and the lady stated, "if you want to go seek legal advice why don't you go get educated laughing while saying this, they stated, "maybe you should go get legal advice maybe they can educate you! The staff at American Collection System is disgusting and rude! TRASH!

they are accusing me for taking 4 classes when I wasn't even able to take 1 class. I am blogging all over the internet about this college they deserve to be SHUTDOWN! malpractice and LIES! I am going to take action on this matter, THIS IS AMERICA!

WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO DISPUTE ALL CHARGES THAT IS FALSE AND IS INACCURATE! AIU YOU CAN NOT SCAM AND CONDUCT YOUR BUSINESS IN A UNPROFESSIONAL MANNER! WE THE PEOPLE WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO CHEAT US! LIE TO US!

AND DISGRACE THE COLLEGE EDUCATION SYSTEM OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA! ONE DAY SOMEONE WILL DO THIS TO YOUR CHILD AND YOU HAVE NO CONTROL OVER THE SITUATION AND YOU WILL SEE YOUR CHILD GO DOWN IN DEBT! YOU WILL SEE AND FEEL THE PAIN OF EVERYONE WHO DOES WORK HARD FOR A LIVING TO GIVE TO YOUR CHILD THE BEST EDUCATION AND WE ARE NOT GOING TO LET YOU DISTURB OUR EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM AND LIE TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ABOUT YOUR DISGUSTING ACTS! WE WILL PREVAIL AND WHAT GOES AROUND WILL COME BACK AROUND TO YOU TEN FOLD!

I AM ANGRY AND I WILL SHOW THE WHOLE WORLD WHAT A FAKE COLLEGE YOU RUN AND HOW YOUR EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM IS RUINING OUR STUDENTS LIVES!

YOU ARE A LIAR AND A CHEATER COMPANY AND YOU NEED TO BE SHUTDOWN! Veasna m Dublin, California

I already wrote this story but it seems to have disappeared. I signed up for AIU but could not reach a teacher by phone or email nor any of the students supposedly in my class.

After a week of trying and the recruiter reassuring me the class was real, I canceled my financing and dropped out. I found no evidence they even exist or offered any classes. The wanted me to get over $9,000 in student loans. I stopped believing the recruiter and dropped out before the 7 day grace period was over.

He kept telling me to be patient and give it more time, but I couldn't reach a live person by phone or email.

All I had was his word that the school exists. If there's any one out there who actually got a degree of any kind from AIU, please respond to this message.

I'm sorry but u do not know what I went through with them and your comment doesn't make any sense interest? Why am I going to for classes that I dis not take.

Sounds like a bunch of bull to me. I love university of Phoenix and they treat me like a regular human being not no money in the sea.

No matter if you are in the military or not. You always stay intouch with your college and the financial institutions.

If you were charged the 4292.10, that means you were charged interest for not paying your bill. To be charged that much instrest you had to not pay the bill for years not months. Also it shows that you do not check your credit report months or quartely. If you would have taken that action, you could have saved yourself thousands on interest and finance charges and your credit.

You have to take responsibility for your actions and stay on top of your financies. Always double check!
