Air conditioner
- - AC not fixed after a week; promised portable unit not delivered.
- - Ongoing maintenance issues (water leak, ceiling damage) with poor communication.
I have an air conditioning problem. I went over last week on a Tuesday to try to tell the secretary to put it in.
She wrote it down on a piece of paper, and she did not put it in the computer. Then I went back over there the next day, and they finally did, and still no results. It's 87 in my apartment. They said they were going to get me a portable air unit that was a 10 this morning, and still nothing.
When I went over there to talk to the manager, the secretary went in the office and asked the manager if she was available. She looked right at me and said, 'Not really,' and then proceeded to talk to me. But this is the way you all conduct business; it's not good. I'm a 60-year-old man; that means I'm a senior citizen, and I've been living with this heat.
Well, it'll be over a week as of tomorrow, so I'm very, very unhappy. I pay my rent on time. I've never had a problem here, and it's the hottest that it's been in years. I don't like the manager here; I think she's a smug fat b****, and that's the way I see it.
Also, when I first moved in, there was *** that appeared in my ceiling from a hot water pipe that had sprung a leak. When I went over to the office and tried to tell them that, they said it was some leak from the attic, and it was hot water that was leaking into my house for 38 hours before they finally came and fixed it. Then there was *** in my ceiling for 6 months, with my ceiling light off and the ceiling hanging down. So, you see, this is not the first time I've had to deal with something like this, and now it's my air conditioner.
There are a few things that are emergency-type things: water leaking, no heat in the winter, no air conditioning in the summer, and electrical issues.
You're supposed to jump on this right away, not wait a week. I hope somebody reads this because I can't get a hold of anybody, and I really don't like going over to that office because I'm pissed off.
- Rent is decent and if you ask to fix small problems they get done
- If your furnace goes out if your air conditioner goes out be prepared to wait
Preferred solution: To get my air conditioner fixed or a portable unit brought in why the repairs are being done I told them about this problem on July 7th it is now July 14th
User's recommendation: Renter beware
