Artistic Kitchen Concepts , Would Not Hire Again

I just don't feel that the quality or dedication to this job was there. I have hired numerous contractors to work on my homes & this was not a good experience.

Accepted a TEN THOUSAND DOLLAR down payment 01/04/17 with a contractual start date of 01/2017 ( this was more than 30% of what the total bill was going to be, which was 28k including countertops ) . FYI the cost of supplies on the invoice they issued totaled 7057.62 ...Gave excuse after excuse for delays and finally began work 03/2017... TWO MONTHS late ...when it was clear I was about to cancel. Wish I had seen the following before signing " Asking you to pay up front : According to the Better Business Bureau, a contractor asking for money up front is the most commonly reported scam.

In this ruse, the contractor claims that they need a certain percentage of the payment up front in order to rent equipment or buy supplies. However, after getting the money, they end up taking their sweet time , disappearing or do substandard work knowing most likely they won’t be fired because of the substantial payment you’ve already made" From the start things went badly . First day employee I had never seen rang my bell and when I answered the door they just started walking into my home. No introduction.

I stopped them & asked "who are you ?" ( I had met 2 completely different employees doing work on someone else's home. ) Work began each day anywhere between 9:30 and 11:00 , they would not commit to a definite start time. The new (in my opinion inexperienced & untrained) employee kept dropping things on my hardwood floor ( there are some minor chips), they spattered glue on it that was used to attach refacing veneer ( no drop cloths until after all that happened, which was unfortunately a little late) . These are *AFTER* photos : They sawed wood moulding while it was still attached to the wall and into my hardwood floor.

Chipped the moulding in the process as well. Cracked and split veneer was attached to my cabinets & when it was called to their attention the owner & employee argued with me. They didn't take screws out of a cabinet prior to carrying it into the garage and put gouges & scratches into a wood interior door. Didn't tell me they did it , I found that unhappy surprise after they left .

Professional ? Ethical ?

You be the judge. I regret ever hiring Artistic Kitchen Concepts.

After meeting with this company , I could not say if they would be good or bad. They showed an inordinate interest in what I would do with my old appliances which was a bit of a red flag. Did Not hire.

This company is clearly incompetent

I doubt any customer would have "approved" of cracked re-face placed on their cabinets. You can see the cabinet with the nails protruding from it what the kitchen used to look like .

What kind of moron saws into a floor ?

This companys employees obviously have no idea what they are doing. Buffoons.

After seeing those photos , I would have fired them too. And they were surprised ? No way do I believe this company's rebuttal.

This review is completely without merit and is rife with absolute falsehoods. Unfortunately, working for this client was an uphill battle from the start.

We were professional, careful with her home and belongings, and denied her NOTHING, agreeing to every request for addition or change - even as her demands for changes from her contract increased and became more outlandish. Yet, as the week went on, she began to exhibit bizarre behavior, and she became aggressive and verbally abusive to my wife (who works with me) and myself by the end of the first week. We completed the fifth work day, and later that evening we received a surprise email terminating our contract. We provided an accounting of the job per her request.

(She owes us money). Since then, she has continued to harass us online with reviews such as this.

Some of the images she shows here are of APPROVED work in progress and others (like the marks on her door) were not done by us and would have been repaired if they were. Instead, we are having our hard-earned reputation besmirched by her false and unwarranted statements about us and the work she did not even give us a chance to complete.
