Hired this company to do our concrete flooring. We supplied the company with pictures of the color and design we wanted done to our floors. Trey confirmed he could complete the task and do it in three days. It took the company over a week to complete the task. After looking over our floor there were many issues. I explained the original pictures he sent was not at all what we had wanted and to blend the color in. He used towels to make a design but only did it on part of the floor. (Mainly the living room) When I explained there were areas there were needing to be done and spots missing color, he grabbed a water bottle and sprayed the corners. He stated they would fix the design to match the rest of the flooring, which was never done. They never fixed the design in the corners, closets, hallways or two other rooms. The last day they rushed so fast to get it done, get out and take the last check. They stated we couldn't go back in the home because it needed to dry but would look prestige and he fixed all the issues. When we got in the home there were lines on the floor, concrete was uneven, they never fixed the design, there blotches of paint all on the floor, spots from a dripping rag that went all the way to the purple room and they used the wrong colors. One room was supposed to be purple. He said he accidently put blue down. When he sent us pictures of the room he would never show the closet. I told him I needed a pictures and asked why it was so dark. He messed up and put blue down and that he couldn’t get the color off. He did what he could to blend the colors. At first it didn’t look to bad but then he somehow put the brown from the main room on the floor as well. So now that room look like a big mess with three colors and drops of brown on the floor leading out the door. Also, where the three color from the three different areas meet in the hallway and that looks horrible as well. You should see where one room starts and the next ends. We told him if he did samples of the colors where to do them at and how much space could be used. I’m not sure why he needed to do samples in the home and outside of the home in so many areas. He even went way over the boundaries in the home that were given to him and then stated he could not fix it. That it would have to stay that way. Which is unacceptable and it’s even a different colors then what’s on our actual floor. He got paint on my back patio, entry walkway, grass and driveway. He said he would clean it up and never did. We were rushed out of the home and told we couldn’t go back in to look because they already sealed most of the floor. That the last touch ups he would get done before they left. Turns out he never fixed anything he said he would, put down a wax coating and didn’t even put the gloss down to seal it. When we confronted him on what work was done and asked what we paid extra for, he stated he didn’t know and would have to look at the paper work. He verbally stated he could not fix the color issue and that the uneven lines are always like that. We told him we were not satisfied with his work and that we wanted him to redo our floors or at least give us our money back. He stated it was buyer remorse and we were being difficult. That we were fine with the floors when we gave him final payment. My purple room is completely ruined. I’m constantly asked when I’m getting my floors done or what happened to them. Which is not the reaction you should get if the job was done correctly. We just want to make things right get our floors redone or be refunded in full for the inconvenience. Since our disputes, the company hasn't tried to contact us to resolve the issue.

Completely BOTCHED Our Floors!!

Artisan of Texas - Completely BOTCHED Our Floors!!
We hired him on September 17th to put in concrete floors in our house after the 3rd year in a row of flooding for $8,850. Work started on October 10th. Throughout the work process, my husband or I would ask him about details like "what about this issue right here" or "why does that look like that". Every time, he would say, it will be fixed and look nicer when it's done. He text us pictures of the finished work on October 13th and it looked great, but in person, it was a disaster. Dirt, dead bugs, and other particles stuck under the wax coating. The shine wasn't nearly what he said it would be. Drops of the stain visible in numerous spots. A spot where he "tested" the stain color was in the middle of my bathroom when I told him there would be a pedestal sink NOT a vanity (he said he would fix it but clearly didn't). He didn't even bother covering the walls before spraying the stain so my beadboard is sprayed with grey stain. Worse, he didn't bother moving the water heater OR removing closet doors. So he put the overlay around it. Yes, my water heater pan is now cemented into the floor. The 1" thick white overlay they did was not properly leveled so furniture wobbles. It also wasn't sanded down smooth so it's jagged and you can see the brush strokes of the trowel. We also just recently discovered that he broke our hall bathroom toilet. The bowl is completely cracked and unusable. We had to buy another for $175. We had other work going on in the house and didn't see these issues until the following week. My husband called him on October 20th and was very unhappy. He said Trey was very condescending and standoffish, which makes sense because he had already been paid IN FULL!!! My husband told him he needs to come fix it. Since we both work during the day, it's not easy for us to go meet him, but this is the only time he claimed he could come look at the floors to make a "plan" to fix them. My husband asked if he can be there before 10am any morning and he said he couldn't. We had to work around HIS schedule. He doesn't even care that my husband said we were going to give him a bad review on Yelp and BBB if he doesn't fix it. He came by on November 12th and, in between him cursing at his young children, my husband showed him all the issues. His response to everything was "that's not a big deal, I can fix that." He was supposed to come by November 15th at 5pm but no one was there when my husband got there. My husband called him and Trey said they should be there by 6. My husband called and text Trey until 8pm, but no one never showed up. Then Trey claimed he thought my husband was another client. So I'm not sure he ever intended to come by. He and my husband text back and forth and my husband told him we'd have to send him to small claims court. His response was "Okay that's fine my uncle is one of the best civil litigators in houston. You will just end up oweing him money." My husband and I have all the texts. He then said he can still do touchup, but that is not what is required to fix the floors. It needs to be completely redone. I also found out from his very late response to the BBB yesterday that he apparently recorded his and my husbands last meeting, which we absolutely DID NOT give him permission to do.

Poor work, poor management, and highly unethical

Trey/Frank completely botched a concrete job for us. Poor work, very poor management of the work, and then when the job was completed and paid in full, they stopped payment on their check to the concrete company who then came to me looking for payment. I consider these guys about as dishonest as they come and would recommend avoiding them at all costs. Google before you hire, you'll find that they've been in several lawsuits and have had several complaints filed against them. I wish I had done my diligence ahead of time, as I would have never hired them. My mistake for not doing the homework, don't make the same mistake!!!

Shoddy workmanship for professional prices

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Do not hire this company! You will pay professional prices for work that looks like it was done by day laborers (and in my case, it WAS done by day laborers). I made the incredible mistake of hiring this company to do my patio. It is a relatively large patio and includes a fire pit. They showed professional work in the pictures we discussed and established a date to have the patio done. Most of the work was done by either Trey or by day laborers guided by Trey. Nothing was done timely or professionally. The stamping on the patio was double stamped with the stamp dragging marks all over the deck. The sealant over the surface of the patio has Trey's footprints in it. He tried to fill in the marks and gouges with grout. Needless to say, the grout was not the proper color. The fire pit included incomplete grouting, grout marks all over the limestone and a number of the stones were dropped on the patio, which damaged the surface of the patio. The best part is that this "quality" work took almost two weeks longer than they quoted. Further, they dumped the garbage stone, gravel and cement into my back yard, ruining my grass. Yes, there is a flat surface in my back yard, of the appropriate size and including a fire pit. If that's all you want, then save your money and do the patio yourself. You can't possibly produce an uglier product. If you want professional quality work, hire someone else.

Incomplete sloppy work by Artisan's Trey Cameron

Hired Atrisan to do rooftop stained concrete, needed leveling to which Trey Cameron agreed to at time of consultation. Agreed to $2000 for leveling and staining to pay half at onset of each part and remainder when completed. Besides never being available to the customer except saturdays and not showing up on more than one occasion, he did not complete the job, did none of the stain which I thought was being done on 2nd visit so I paid the first $500 of staining process and of course not done. AND of course, he needed cash/check rather than credit card which was a red flag, stated he could not locate information for me to use credit card, *** me. He is a sloppy worker, there is cement all over a window below my decking and splattered cement on the walls of decking that was fresh paint. He does not respond as stated by others, I do plan to pursue in small claims court as a matter of principle. This is not sustainable for a business, they will lose in the long run and rot in *** for deceiving people, what comes around goes around......I do believe in karma

Artisan of Texas / Frank Cameron / Huge Mistake

Artisan of Texas / Frank Cameron / Huge Mistake
I hired Frank and Trey Cameron in April to build a patio in my back yard. An original invoice detailing the work was submitted and agreed upon. Some of the work has been completed, although at less than a professional level. The yard was not leveled before pouring the concrete, and there are already cracks appearing. Crude holes were cut out for gutters rather than installing proper equipment. Concrete was splashed onto the house. The edges of the cut-outs are crumbling. The electrical work Frank Cameron installed was done without a permit and included the following problems: - Used 1/2" conduit with Romex interior rated wire on an exterior project - Less than 6" below grade - Illegal wiring run into breaker box, hooked to circuits too small for voltage The electrical wiring and gas lines he has run are illegal, as Frank and Trey Cameron are unlicensed. I’m not sure who to report this to. I will have to have the entire electrical job redone by a licensed company with a permit. The gas lines run are inadequate and unlicensed. I will have to have a licensed plumber redo the entire job, resulting in part of the poured concrete pad having to be demolished and repoured. The house needs to be repainted where the concrete was scraped off. Corners of the back yard reek where the workers went to the bathroom. No outlet doors were built in the structures that will be required for access to the gas connections. Those will have to be built into existing structures. Bags of trash and other debris were left behind. There are maggots, etc. in the trash that was left behind. Bags of masonry concrete will need to be hauled away. I last spoke with Frank Cameron on June 6, 2013, when he asked for more money, supposedly because 3 of his checking accounts “had been hacked”. I refused to give him another payment. Within 2 hours, I had received a new invoice with additional charges and increased charges from the original invoice. Frank Cameron still has the opener to my property gate, my gate padlock is missing, my hose box is broken, and 2 garden gnomes, an extension cord, and new spotlights have concrete on them. 6/13/13 - I’ve sent Frank 3 or 4 emails asking for updates and the whereabouts of my missing items, and I left a voicemail with Trey Cameron. All have gone unanswered. A search for Nueces County revealed 2 civil suits brought against Frank Cameron with both judgments for the plaintiffs. There are also numerous entries for Artisan of Texas at www.ripoffreport.com.
