DO NOT BUY from Armstrong Steel
I believe that Armstrong Steel is using unfair and deceptive business practices. They misrepresented that my $6524,00 deposit was required to lock in a price and then falsely blamed me for delays as an excuse to deny me the $5219.10 rebate agreed upon in the original contract.
There are so many reviews online about others with similar experiences.
A news feature regarding legal action against Armstrong Steel https://www.denver7.com/news/contact-denver7/englewood-based-armstrong-steel-faces-class-action-lawsuit
alleges there are more than 100 class members, and the amount in controversy exceeds $5,000,000. Ordered a 1600 sq ft building from Armstrong in Aug of 21 and paid 9k deposit and was told building should be delivered early 22. After several calls I was always told that we were still a couple months out from production.
Finally Nov 22 I got my blueprints, basic CAD plans. Had to reapply for permits as the original ones had expired because it had been over a year. Upon submission of my plans permits were denied because there are no footing details. Also the building was going to be attached to the end of my home, they asked for the details on my home, which I submitted, their blueprints did not include any details as too how it was to attach to the existing structure or if there were even materials to do the same.
This has been the worst experience I have ever had with any company, will not refund my deposit, I am now 70 and no way I could erect this EVEN if I wanted to!
My advice to anyone considering this company DONT!!! I dont understand how the BBB can give this company a favorable rating!
- Quick to take your money
- Poorest customer service ever

Verified ReviewerArmstrong Steel Breach of Contract
Armstrong Steel has many thousands of my dollars as a deposit and will not refund me. They will not deliver a building unless I pay over 100k more than the original contract rate.
They have my money and I will likely not ever get it back unless I join the class action lawsuit that is filed. Google around, and also look for the Armstrong Steel Facebook Victims groups.

Verified ReviewerTHIS COMPANY IS A SCAM . TOOK MY MONEY AND NEVER DELIVERED
If I could rate this company as A ZERO I would . The reviews on their webpage are fake .
Please , go offsite and read the reviews from real customers . The reviews on their website rating them a 5 star with no issues is "B.S." mI have been contacted by no less than 10 other customers who paid their deposit and never received their "wet plans" and the story is all the same . "an employee on your project went out on leave or that person no longer here and we had to reassign another project manager , OH by the way the price of steel has increased and you must now pay extra""" I am suing this company . They took $8400 as down payment and never sent me plans.
I spent over $4k on site prep and my project manager never returned my calls. I have spent over 12,400k since March of 2021. I have no shop . I have no plans except the ones to file suit .
PLEASE read the offsite reviews . My name is MICHAEL RIESE . I am an attorney in Crescent City CA. I WANTED A SHOP NOT A LAWSUIT !
Do not trust this company . They are running a scam to pressure you into paying now "Prices of steel are going up and we have a special if you commit now " My shop was to be delivered by 06/07 . My sight was prepared .
It is now 11/29 and I have no plans and no shop . AVOID this company!!!

I am joining a class action law suite against armstrong steel!
No contact from Armstrong. I have filed a complaint with the better business bureau, and contacted a lawyer.
Then on Jan 24th,2022 after talking to her on the phone, she sends me a email for verification of purchase which had a $31,520.21 increase on it over and above the original price that they agreed to in the contract. I told her on the phone that was ridiculous. More than a 100% increase from the price we agreed on. Then on Feb 1st,2022 she sent me another email said she was able to get the increase down to 21,013.47.
I told her I was not going to pay that either. She said if I cancel the order I will loose my $7,280.00 deposit. Then she said the price of steel is going down a little and maybe in 6 months it might be cheaper. I was thinking that if they would have stuck to their contract of delivery within 3 months then there would not have been any steel increase.
Also does it cost $7,280.00 for a email of my cookie cutter blue prints, after a year of waiting on them? I tried reaching out to Andres the client relations manager and got nothing from him as well. Is this not Fraud?
Here is a link to the BBB and some of the complaints on there. Some of which are very similar to mine.

High pressure with no product
You get high pressure sells to lock in your rate only if you put down a 25 percent deposit. Promised I would have building on site with in 16 weeks.
Been waiting over a year now and was just told my price is double and they dont lock in rates. BS. If you dont agree to 100 percent mark up they keep your deposit. Stay clear Im one of many.
Fraud and lies. Total scam
User's recommendation: Find another company
This company is a rip off
I signed a contract in March of 2021, because they said you would lock in your steel price before they increase, gave then $5,000 deposit to lock in the price. LIE 1, next I add some window and door openings need $9,000 more for changes and added weight to delivery, LIE 2.
10/13/21 Call said they want to charge an additional $17,000 to get the building, LIE 3. My original cost was $24,000 went to $41,000, NOW the want $57,000 total

Armstrong Steel Buildings Scam Business
I contracted Armstrong Steel Buildings to fabricate a steel building.
This company uses unethical heavy pressure tactics. They did not honor original pricing.
Oversold for unnecessary products and then when confronted the vice president became combative and laughed during our conversation. They refused to issue refunds even when presented with receipts showing the overcharges. After constantly asking for a contractor referral list throughout the process, which they promised to provide. At the end of the project they provided only one contractor who turned out to have a warrant out for his arrest, who then ended up extorting my deposit and skipped town.
They found no problem out right lying about products and did not honor their word. When I called I was given the run around. When I attempted to contact the owner, Ethan Chumley, he refused to return my calls and emails. They do not know the meaning of best business practices.
Ethan Chumley, writes a letter on line that is not truthful, presenting himself as customer friendly and accessible. There is no attempt by this company to resolve their mistakes or to put the customer first.
I have since learned of others who have been ripped off by this company as well. Because of so many legal problems created by their contractor referral our build was delayed three years.
- Experience was awful

The BBB is a joke. They give businesses like Armstrong an A+ rating as long as they respond to your complaints on their website.
Most of their responses are blaming the customer and BBB still keeps their high rating.
This is why they direct people to the BBB, cause they know it will deceive you into doing business with them. It’s the only way they get business is essentially tricking people.
