Hello

Im putting up this post regarding the derogatory, unjust, unfounded comments made against my company from an individual whose relative was a resident in the facility and was evicted due to bounced checks, two months of non-payments of the fees due. Consequently the company filed a law suit against this individual and the judgment was entered in favor of the company, afterwards the individual took it up on herself to go online and post untruthful comments pertaining to the business that is why those negative reviews are seen. They are just Lies and the court case number proves my point.

Scam! Ark Assisted Living MD: 15005 Puffin Court, Bowie MD

Ark Assisted Living MD at 15005 Puffin Court pulls bait and switch with their rooms. They signed a contract for one room and then switched rooms for a smaller one. It seems like what they were trying to do is show you the bigger room to get you to sign then switch a few weeks down the road. They put the people who can pay more in larger rooms, but that's what they should say in the first place. It's simply a bait and switch. I have complained to the state but it will take 45 days to get any word back. Those people Toyin and Gabriel manage the places and they scam people by telling them a bunch of lies. Just keep on by this place because they are frauds.

Scam! Ark Assisted Living MD: 16303 Ayrwood Lane Bowie

The owners of Ark Assisted Living in Bowie Maryland are scammers. They will place your relative in one room, then switch because of a made up problem. Ark Assisted Living also will call you and say your relative needs supplies. You will think its included in contract but its not. Soap, shampoo, whatever they need you will get a call later on for supplies. What are you suppose to say, No? You end up having to buy it. Gabriel and his wife are a bunch of frauds! And you can only speak with them because the other staff don't speak english or very little english. All they say is "I call Mr. Gabriel, wait, wait" After 2 months of this I finally had to move. Would have moved my grandfather sooner but I had to wait on a room at another assisted living.

people like this always are only after the money. The state doesn't help because they are suppose to watch out for the residents and most times, relatives don't learn until much later. Don't waste your time with Ark Assisted Living they only care about the money they bring in and the advertisements are not true.

Ark Assisted Living, 16303 Ayrwood Lane, Bowie MD

Ark Assisted Living is privately owed, so they do not have the same regulations like nursing homes, unfortunately. The state does go by to check on these home facilities but not as often as they are required. Gabriel or Nnamdi Gabriel Ikegwu is the owner and the smell is not the residents, its the workers. The staff is made up of african immigrants who have a custom of not bathing everyday. It's their belief. I did look at Ark Assisted Living for my mother but I passed because how Gabriel was selling the place. The residents are elderly people, way over 70 and mostly in wheelchairs. I think I only saw 1 resident walking by. But Gabriel was telling me that he has a person come in for exercise every few days and went on about how they walk around and get fresh air. Hard to believe since most of them do not walk and they don't have more than 1 staff on duty for the 5 people. I know people in wheelchairs exercise, but it was just too much he was saying to get me to sign a contract. Also, the home they use is rented - he does not own it outright, which can become a problem down the road. I did not pick up on many problems there, other than the super-selling and the smell of the workers. That alone I know my mother would not put up with because she was a very clean person [the type of woman that cleans the kitchen every night and mopped the floors after dinner]. And I did notice he only has morning or early afternoon appts - the staff is solely responsible for evenings til the next day. I wasn't sold on Ark Assisted Living

the guy running the place is not a nurse. He advertised that he has a nursing degree but there is no license for him. Most of these private run places are scams

Ditto...Ark Assisted Living is run by fraudsters after money. They have no activities as advertised and you absolutely have to buy extras because they are not included in price.

Stay Away from Ark Assisted Living - Frauds

Ark Assisted Living is a Sham. The person in charge at that assisted living home is Nnamdi Gabriel Ikegwu who claims he has a degree in nursing - lies! He has no nursing license. He had a single room available so we went ahead and placed our uncle there. Turns out, the room was an add-on that was built without the correct paperwork. Had to move my uncle into a double room, although I had already paid for a single. Next problem -- they barely provide enough to eat. He always wants you to stop by either during morning or by 4pm, but I went during dinner time. The plates were filled with rice, a spoon full of vegetables and 1 small chicken wing. Peanut butter and jelly for breakfast? Are you kidding? Next problem - Place was clean when I went to do a walk-thru (I had an appointment). If you go there on any normal working day it smells like a bunch of monkeys. Gabriel said they do not bathe the residents everyday and according to the law, they do not have to bathe them everyday. I never asked because I thought that was standard to clean the people up every day. My uncle's clothes smelled terrible. Just because they do not believe in bathing everyday these are elderly people who wear diapers and have accidents. How can you not bathe them? I moved my uncle after the first month. Ark Assisted Living is disgusting and Nnamdi Gabriel Ikegwu is a fraud. He has no nursing license and simply talks a good game.

If your complaint is legitimate, don't just complain here. Your state or local authority must have some rules and regulations concerning the operations of these facilities. Get in touch with them and tell them to do an unannounced inspection and a check on the credentials of the operators.
