Theft of non-clients property

Original review Dec 18, 2022
Arizona Storage Inns 3201 W Thomas Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85017 On April 19th of 2022 I became homeless unexpectedly. I had a bunch of things that I carried around with me from hotel to hotel Airbnb to airbnb. So finally I could no longer carry my stuff with me as it was just too much. And as such and having no income and other fellow veteran of mine who had her stuff in storage who fell into the same circumstances as myself allowed me to put my stuff in her storage unit as I was probably going to have to go to a crisis center or shelter and I could not take all of it with me. Besides all my valuables and practically everything that I own all my good clothes some classified documentation as well as personal identifiable information like social security number banking information and whatnot that is in this storage unit. Things that are quite sentimental to me as well. Things of my past. Well she fell behind her payment on the storage unit and the storage unit decides that they want to keep my things from me. I am not a paying customer I'm merely a person who put my stuff in her storage unit. However this storage unit as I'm sure many are have this policy which they can still basically a non customers possessions and auction them off with their scheduled to be auctioned if they have not been auctioned already scheduled to be auctioned in 2 days. I am absolutely livid and angry with this company. In addition the price that they charge for what you get is ridiculous. To begin with they're not secured meaning that if I really wanted to go in there I could get in there. They are not climate controlled. They are filthy run down they were mice droppings rat droppings and mice that could access the unit. In addition to insects like black widows and brown recluses. It's a straight ripoff with the price that they are charging is absolutely outrageous for what you get. You'll be fair if they charge $30 but the amount of money that they're charging for what you get is comparable to a secured climate-controlled storage unit that is very clean and free of insects and rodents. In addition instead of stopping these outrageous charges and fees they kept talking on fees and charges on my friend which made it impossible for us to attain the money seeing as we're both homeless veterans in time. So I'm going to lose my possessions a non-paying customer a person who was never on it to begin with and they by luck and legally steal my stuff everything that I own. In addition putting whoever takes control of my possessions at risk of some sort of reprisal from the government because there's documentation in there that they should not even lay eyes on. Furthermore whoever gets it isn't going to get anything really of any value to them and it's really not going to have any resale value. However it's extremely valuable to me none more so than my identity.

Cons:
  • No climate control
  • Filthy

Preferred solution: Financial compensation for the stress, and psychological damage they caused and replacement for items and belongings stolen from me.
