Argentum and all other financial investment companies in Japan suck

I wanted to find a good company to help me and have dealt with Trevor Reynolds at Bannerjapan and several at DeVere group and all these consultants some good some bad all sell overseas non Japanese registered products. This is fine if your ok with no recourse at these firms since none of the products are registered for sale in Japan and when they go wrong the FSA will say pls only buy products registered in Japan. Japanese based products aren’t great and the offshore ones these financial cowboys sell are loaded with high commissions. Your better off setting up an online brokerage account in the US or Hong Kong. Save yourself money & headaches. Charles Shwab E*TRADE all much better options

Promised an interest rate of 9-12% per year. So far lost nearly 10% if my investment. Don’t trust the company or it’s employees. Worst mistake I ever made was investing with them and listing to blatant lies from one of their advisors.

Illegal financial adviser in Tokyo

Lloyd Danon and Martin Zotta ripped me off selling me some terrible funds not registered in japan. I lost money and when i called the regulators they say their license only to charge me for advice and they are not allowed to sell me unregulated offshore funds but that is their business. How on earth do the Japanese regulators allow this to go on. Anyone should beware of these and other Japan based offshore fund selling brokers claiming to be licensed. there is NO SUCH thing. No license allows to sell unregistered funds. They dont tell investors this! liars

Argentum Wealth will be forcing its "clients" (it obtained by a dubious with Objective Trading) to agree to pay 1% on a portion of their entire portfolio just to receive statement updates and their "advice" on dealing with an offshore investment. That's outrageous!

So regardless if that portfolio is making money or not, they want a 1% cut guarantee without ensuring that same types of ROI guarantee for their "client". No way anybody should agree to that.

None of our clients have ever lost $100,000 USD. As such, this is obviously another smear post, which is not only blatantly false, but clearly violates the terms and conditions of this site. We will be reporting this posting just like the previous one, which Pissed Consumer agreed was defamatory and inaccurate.

Martin Zotta and Lloyd Danon are liars as there IS NO LICENSE IN JAPAN THAT ALLOWS FOR ANY ADVISER TO SELL UNREGISTERED FUNDS IN JAPAN. PERIOD. THEY OBTAIN AND ADVISORY LICENSE THAT ONLY ALLOWS THEM TO CHARGE CLIENTS FOR ADVICE AND THEN USE THAT LICENSE AS A MARKETING TOOL TO TRICK PEOPLE IN JAPAN THAT THEY ARE "FULLY LICENSED" THAT IS SIMPLY A LIE AND ANYONE CAN CALL THE JFSA AND ASK THEY WILL TELL YOU THAT ANY FUND WHICH IS NOT REGISTERED FOR SALE IN JAPAN FOR SALE IS NOT ALLOWED TO BESOLD BY THEM OR ADVISED UPON AS ARGENTUM WEALTH WOULD HAVE YOU BELIEVE

Stay away

Thought they where going to be a good company to work with at first from some reviews (which know i know are not real revies) but turns out we received poor service and had a bad experiance, no longer a client of course, took a loss but had to get away, they only ever tried to push high commision products to us, didnt explain anything and all without caring about what was best for us. Will never recommend or use them again. I would highly recommend you look else where or make sure you fully understand what they are tring to sell you before you deal with these scammers.

Argentum Tokyo these guys like all financial advisors in japan lie and mid represent products. Would never buy from a financial advisor in Japan. They are NOT licensed to sell unregulated products in Japan which is all they do

It's abundantly clear that most of the comments on this page are made by someone with an agenda, rather than being a genuinely disgruntled client. Any client who is disgruntled for any reason is always welcome to see us in person, and we will work to resolve the issue with them.

To date we have not received any such complaint from any of our clients. As such, we believe these comments to be written by a competitor trying to tarnish our good name and reputation.

Argentum Wealth Tokyo ripped me off. Lied about pension plan felxibility they sold me a 25 year plan that is locked in with big penalties.

They made it sound like a 2 year bank account I could do whatever I wanted with. Liars

Thanks for taking the time to post this. I'm in the same boat. I hope others don't get sucked in.

Dear competitor, thank you for thinking of us again. We will be taking legal action against this posting again, as it appears to be in the same vein as the one made on this site 2 years ago, which was found to be “defamatory and inaccurate”, and that the “post does not report the experience of an actual consumer of the Complainant’s services, and therefore, the post violates Pissed Consumer's Terms of Use.”There are also a few things you forgot to mention about us.

We are locally licensed by the FSA in Japan (we wonder if you are?), and are required to have strict complaints procedures to resolve any client issues that may arise, of which there have never been any. We are one of the oldest, largest and most well-known firms in Japan and are committed to the highest level of service, having experience in advising thousands of happy clients for over 11 years with senior advisors in the industry for close to 20 years.

Can't say much about Argentum from personal experience - although if they are selling Generali / Hansard / Friends provident plans - they are likely taking hefty commissions for the privilege and those plans universally suck - compared to say an index fund. However, at least they do seem to be registered with the FSA - as can be verified here : https://www.fsa.go.jp/en/regulated/licensed/index.html https://www.fsa.go.jp/en/regulated/licensed/fibo.xlsx

Stay away from all firms which sell term financial packages. They are sales people focused on selling products designed to lock clients into long term financial handcuffs with huge exit penalties. Unethical but not illegal to for them to make a sucker out of you.

@PissedConsumer1512062

Thats bull the license you have is advisory license in japan as listed on the JFSA website. You cannot solicit or sell funds unless they are japanese registered ones.

This is exactly why the original poster posted on you as you mis represent. There is no license in japan that allows you to sell unregistered funds in japan and non ethat you recommend are registered in japan are they?
