Verified ReviewerTERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
These people are not reputable people. It takes 3-4 months for items to be shipped is unacceptable.
Also, when trying to return it they dont answer their phones for return.
Note: ordered an IFAC pack with all the bandages included but wasn't packed properly. They just stuck all accessories in a bag and just sloppy.
Preferred solution: Full refund
Never again would I order from you. great product but you lost me a long time ago with 5 e-mails every day of my life. trust me when I say never again !
bought many things and you won't leave me alone . it's been 3 yrs and you send me 5 emails a day.
for 3 yrs you tell me what the problem is. I'm done with ar 500 never again .
User's recommendation: don't order nothing. they will not leave you alone. and you wait for it to stop, it dont. lost a customer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Worst customer service ever
I placed an order in early Nov. 2020.
It's now mid April 2021; I've only received a partial shipment, and I didn't receive it until late January. Original delivery was quoted as 4 weeks. When I did receive the partial shipment there was a note included that stated I would get the balance in 2 weeks, but I haven't received it yet and don't expect to. You get nothing but lies out of customer service, they don't answer phone calls, and it's hit or miss with responses to emails.
I absolutely do NOT recommend doing business with them. They are totally and completely undependable.
There's plenty other companies that work hard to earn business, and AR 500 armor isn't one of them. I don't recall any company that I've ever had a worse experience with.
User's recommendation: Do NOT purchase anything from AR 500 armor!!!
This is a comment I was unable to post to other officers posts
I work for a much smaller Police Department ; Approx 26 officers.
I had made some mention in briefing about ar500 armor and their seemingly good price point. Many of the guys were very interested in this for personal and as some trunk gear. I decided to place an order without using my LEO credentials as not to be favoured. I placed my order in November of 2015 and waited until, this month, April 2016 to finally get my product. They had a shipping label printed but it never shipped for 3 weeks. I had also purchased a carrier (Operator 2) This carrier was very poor, including the buckles with internal breaks. The reason I went with the Operator 2 was I was under the impression it was their in house carrier. It was not. It was a Condor. Seems on some of the pictures on their facebook page they make sure the tag is turned the other way. Or, maybe its just by many coincidences it is that way.
The long of the short is I could not in good conscious, recommend this to others in my department. When I brought it up again in briefing after I received it and after jokes about me getting scammed throughout the months of waiting, I said, without a doubt, "go elsewhere". This company don't have my trust.
Also, at the time of looking to purchase, there was no mention that their Operator 2 carrier was made by Condor. It is now mentioned I imagine because of to many complaints. However, you can verify that it was intentionally not mentioned before by visiting archive .org and looking at the changes made to their site.
Using your money to fullfill others orders
just look at ar500's facebook reviews and feedback (most recent) that goes back months and months. Look for the patterns and tactics they use.
I can tell you that what you see in the negative reviews is very accurate.
Yeah, on the positive side they make great plates, however. If you read the negatives, it is not that hard to see patterns they use to deceive. It is also easy to see how they bait and switch.
This company had potential, but using the tactics they use is like a business that is living pay check to pay check. Again, look at all the negatives and you will see the patterns. I also encourage you to look at their positives. Some are true, most are simply plants they use to generate higher ratings to counter the negatives. A good deal of their positives are just not real.
PS. nearly all their items are Condor (Made in China). One can even spot the slight deception because they make it look like it is their own items on their website when it is clearly Condor they use.
Companies have went bankrupt for a lot less than what they pull.
BUYER BEWARE. ARRR 500 Pirates and bandits
if you don't mind growing old waiting for the products that could take up to SIX (6) months to get, If you like 2 hour hold times trying to get a hold of people at customers support and then being lied to continuously and possibly getting hung up on, If you don't mind never getting emails answered. If you are OK with a shipping label being created and your product never being shipped for weeks on end because they are using your money to make Boba fet toys with your money. If you just plain want the abuse then by all means give this company a try.
AR500Armor - Ar500 Armor Body Armor Review from Riverside, California
Ordered 6x8 side soft body armor panels in December of 2015. I was initially under the impression it would take 8 weeks to ship.
When the 8 weeks was up, I contacted the customer service line and was informed that my order would be complete in the 4th week of March (12 weeks). Last week I called them again and was told the first week in April (14 weeks). I emailed their support inquiring of a refund. I have yet to get a call or email back.
All I can say is I will never order from them again, nor will my 450 officer department using them as a future vendor.
Epic failure. I guess the owner either a)doesn't know or b)doesn't care
Worst online experience to date
Been waiting 2 1/2 months for an order to ship. Started out as "4 weeks shipping".
I was informed, after contacting them again, on 21 Nov 2014 that my order would ship no later than 01 Dec 2014. Just checked and it now states "10 weeks shipping".
I have ordered brand new vehicles from the factory and had them delivered in less time.
Have emailed numerous times. Their Facebook page is getting ugly, apparently there are 100's of others disappointed.
I received a Facebook message back from them, chocked full of excuses. I'm a business owner. I'd NEVER treat my customers like this.
Wondering if it's all just a scam ???
Changing Lead Times Review
Constantly changing their lead times after your order has been placed.
Very poor professionalism, customer service and judgement.
Ordered a Banshee multicam plate carrier from AR500Armor on 01/11/2013 after contacting them and confirming that they did have the carriers in stock and they would be shipped out the next day. Received an email advising that the order was being processed.
Did not hear anything from them by 01/20/2013 so I recontacted Tyler Oneal by email and received a reply that the order was processed and will be shipped out. I did not receive a email advising of the shipment by 01/29/2013 so I recontacted them on 01/29/2013 and talked directly with Oneal by telephone. He advised that he would have to check on the order and call me back. Approx 45 minutes I still had not received a callback so I recontacted Oneal by phone.
He advised that my order had been pulled to fill another order that was apparently more important than mine. They did not feel that my order was important enough to contact me and left me hanging for 3 weeks after basically lying to me that my order would be shipped out the next day. I find this very disappointing and very unprofessional.
I am employed in law enforcement and can guarantee that I will make sure that this incident is passed onto fellow officers that had considered ordering from AR500Armor.
AR500Armor.com needs some work
I discovered this site from a special I saw from GearHog.com. The deal was spend $20 to get $40 worth of items. From the start, I had already began seeing problems with the website. When I went to purchase my items (1 item worth $20 so I bought 2 since I had the voucher), I could not use my Gift Certificate. An error code stating "no such code exists" popped up.
I decided to test their communication ability (They are good at responding, hence the 2nd star), so I sent an email about the problem. They contacted me the next day as well as GearHog. It took two days for me to receive a new code, and once again when I entered it into the discount box, I was prompted with the error code.
The third day into my ordeal, I was sent another email, asking if I entered the code into the right box. Before I received this message, I had tried about 8 times and there was only ONE box to enter a code. When I went back to check after the third day, there were TWO boxes. The company made it seem like it was my fault when they hadn't even setup their website to receive discount codes! WTF?
I finally was able to get the code and my items in order. I was happy and felt a sense of accomplishment, only to run into ANOTHER problem. When I was checking out, they had a flat rate shipping charge of $12. This was a bit steep for the items I purchased, but I decided to just accept the charges. A couple hours later, I received a notice from PayPal that I had been charged $24 in total from the vendor. I may not be the best at math, but 2 items $20 each, a voucher for $40 worth of items to take care of that, and a $12 shipping fee does NOT add up to $24.
I sent ANOTHER email to AR500Armor.com, and they responded but only to an extent. It seemed that when I started to ask about the $24 fee, the emails slowly began to get less and less until today which seems to me as if they are now ignoring me. I'm only putting this out there because it is my true experience. I'm sure others have had great feedback with them, but if they are really ignoring my messages, it is a sure sign of bad business. Even a smiley face would be better than nothing.
:)
I'll be sure to keep the public updated as the story continues.
