Stay away from this guy! Even American Express is blown away by what this guy did. I call him on 12/23 when my oven stops working. He says he is 5-10 minutes away and will come take a look. Long story short, tells me my control panel is shot and it will cost $425. I ask him if there is anyway to get the part cheaper, and specifically ask him if I can get it on Amazon lower. He acts like he's checking prices on his phone and tells me no, that the price of $300-$315 on these parts is his price and the lowest price I will be able to find anywhere. Then, he tells me he needs a credit card for an authorization ONLY. And has me sign on the keypad on his phone. I originally state that I only see a signature pad and no idea what I am signing. He tells me this is the only screen on his phone and that I will get an emailed receipt showing the authorization. It's the day before Xmas and I have a house full of people coming so check a few days later to find he did charge my card, not just an autho and also charged $478.45 which was NEVER an amount that was discussed. I then find out from friends that use FourSquare that he just bypassed those screens and that that was also a lie. That it's not just the signature pad that comes up on his phone. I then go and check amazon, who sells the part new for $138. I send him two messages and he tells me he will charge me $129.99 for coming out. I told him I will not pay anything since every single thing he told me was a lie and I call GE. They then tell me that this part is on RECALL!! And that this guy would know that and send me ALL OF THE PARTS, including the control panel, new stainless steel panel, inserts, knobs, etc. and grid all for NOTHING! ZERO DOLLARS! So I then call this guy and tell him everything I find out and how upset I am that nothing he said to me was true at all, and that I feel like he was trying to scam me. I also told him that although perhaps a coincidence, I was missing some items from the kitchen counter the day he came, but that since I had multiple contractors in and out that day that I had no idea what happened. But if you ask me, this is the only guy trying to scam me on every level so I absolutely wouldn't be surprised. I had the bug guy, handyman and cleaning crew all here that have all been working at my home for many years. But that's neither here nor there at this point and the least of my worries. And, there will never be any way to know what happened with that, but even giving him the benefit of the doubt in that respect, everything he has said has basically been an outright lie. After all this, this guy then gets in touch with American Express and LIES even worse!! He tells them he actually DID the repair! Thankfully I have all the correspondence, calls with GE and Amx that were recorded and proof that he NEVER did any repair. I will be reporting him to BBB and all reporting agencies. I have never had such a dishonest and manipulative person in my home. Scary. Stay away from this guy.
