Appleyard Press are *** merchants

I had a website designed and built by the Appleyard Press Ltd in Manchester, they were completely unhelpful, incredibly slow, and after uploading what I would call the first draft they ignored my requests to amend and invoiced me for full payment. Phill Clarence web designer, said that the works are final and for any further amendments would result in me having to book in at least one full day of his time and pay up front a minimum cost of £400 + VAT (8hrs @ £40). My patience wore beyond thin and I asked for a refund as I was not satisfied with the work. He REFUSED and then terminated the phone call. I have since written to the Appleyard Press only to be ignored and Phill will no longer take my calls. With web design being unregulated, I do not know how to officially complain. I have this week written to the local trading standards office and am awaiting acknowledgment. As a small business I cannot afford to be wasting money nor conned. If anyone could shed light on where else I could turn to then it would be much appreciated. Yours, Davey Jones
