I wanted handymen ratings. The only way to find out if Angie's list was useful was to subscribe for a month. The stated 1 month subscription fee was $3.50 but I found I was charged $6.50. I found that the number of ratings present made its usefulness somewhat...Read more
Angies List got-ya
Went to website and was directed to register, providing your name and email. Once I did this it was revealed that I had to purchase a subscription. I don't really need their service enough to open my wallet, so I declined and now get their spam. I have no problem with a service provider charging for their information, but I feel that this just being underhanded on their part. I just went to the site to "unsubscribe" to emails. I wonder if that really will. I think they should be upfront about paying for membership before requiring you to register before getting any of your profile information.
Angie's list is a total scam!!! I went there to check it out to list our business and thought I was signing us up. What was really happening is that each CONSUMER must pay like $34/year to have access to any reviews! How outrageous! I was able to find out how to...Read more

Angie's List will keep charging you even after you cancel your subscription or "discounted trial". My advise is to pay by paypal so that you can contact them when angie charges you again and again after cancellation. The nominal fee that you will repeatedly refute, at...Read more
I joined Angie's List in April of 2007 at a yearly rate of 47.00 and understood that this was an introductory rate. In April of 2008 I was billed at renewal for $59.00 which I had originally agreed to when I joined. In April of 2009 I again was charged $59.00 as I did...Read more
Angie's List allows consumers to shed light on bad business practices. Unfortunately, they should be added to the negative experience list. Up until today, I was a subscriber to Angie's List since 2008 for two cities. Today I was surprised to receive a...Read more
I signed up for Angie's list and used them once, but they kept charging my credit card with an automatic yearly fee renewal. You gotta read the fine print! When I finally figured out what was happening and complained, Angie's list refused to remove the charge. ...Read more
