Angies List in Aberdeen, Maryland - Autorenewal SCAM

I too just fell victim to the AngieScam. I never authorized a renewal and never signed up for auto renewal. They used my PayPal credentials to "send" themselves a subscription renewal payment. No contact to me, and no notification whatsoever! I had to resort to chat to cancel my account and get an immediate refund of the fraudulent transaction. I have opened a case with Paypal so they are aware of this scam. Be advised, if you sign up for Angies List, They WILL take your money! I too fell victim of the reviews on this site, I guess they sell their glowing endorsements to the highest bidder, I was not happy with the contractor I used, and my review of them was deleted within 24 hours.

Angies List in Henderson, Nevada - Angie's List Will Rip You Off

Details
I Paid Angies List $85 for a Reverse-Osmosis System Tune-Up and when the plumber came to our house he said that our system was not one they would service for the Angie’s List deal and to call Angie’s List and get my money back. I called Angie’s List a week ago and they said someone from their “Big Deal” dept. would call back in 2 days, 8 days later no call so I called again and they said because I didn’t request the refund in the first 30 days I couldn’t receive a refund – the plumber didn’t even come to my house in the first 30 days! Angie’s List ripped me off!

Angies List - Membership Review from Columbus, Ohio

I joined Angie's List on 3/22/15. I did not notice any difference in the reviews there from those you can get free, via my local BBB, except for the listing of medical providers, which when u access, Angie bills u an additional $5.99. So I decided to terminate effective the end of the first month I had paid for, 4/22/15. Danielle, the customer rep., told me that she could not arrange my termination for 4/22 because I was calling on 4/9. She said that I had to terminate effective today (4/9), or wait and call back on 4/22. I terminated effective today, fearing that if I waited, Angie's list would charge me another month. I find it interesting that Angie's list can efficiently add additional charges to your billing, but the task of terminating your membership when you ask is beyond their ability. Angie's list originated in Central Ohio & I was a member then when they provided high quality service. It appears that their national success has caused a serious decline in their service.

Angies List in Fort Myers, Florida - Did not deliver, then charged me for cancellation

We agreed to advertise and after 6 months with no results, we upgraded our advertising (their recommendation). Jan 27,2015 we sign up, Angie`s List charges us but never updated our account for the website. After more than a month of calls without a return call and constant change of my Angie`s List sales rep on my online profile, the new rep says: I was out all month of February and let me see what i can do. Again with nothing being done to help us, I call up ready to cancel and was charged 35% of the program cost of which they never even set up for my buisness.

Angies List in Greenville, Illinois - BEWARE WHEN SUBSCRIBING TO ANGIE'S LIST

1.0
Details
They require you to subscribe and sign up for automatic renewal. Yesterday without any notification they charged my paypal account. I did not receive any text message or email message of any sort. When I called to cancel they offered me a 25% discount on my membership but it would not be effective until April 7, 2016. I asked and they refused to refund any part of my subscription fees for the coming year. I inquired as to how this happened and they said automatic renewal is a requirement of initial membership. I was ripped off by Angie's List, not a good company to do business with policies like this.

Angies List - Keeps Billing After Cancellation

I cancelled my Angie's List account over six months ago because I saw no real value in the service provided here in East Central Florida. I thought everything was closed out and done. Now over six months later a $9.99 charge was debited from my bank account. I called and they have promised to refund me only after offering me deep discounts on another year's membership. I gladly declined that offer! This is just a heads up to anyone considering using this service - watch your account if you've ever dealt with Angie. She will keep charging you like the Energizer Bunny. Happy Easter!

Angies List - Membership Review from Boise, Idaho

Do not, I repeat, do not pay to sign up on Angies list. Her list is a waste of time and money. I thought it would be of service in the new area I moved to. I have better results just doing an Internet search for the services I am looking for. Also, Angies list took a stand against Indiana's religious rights bill that was recently signed by the governor. That was the last straw, I cancelled my membership.

Angies List in Phoenix, Arizona - Corporate Position on Indiana

It is always fascinating when those who take advantage of our right to free speech, want to restrict others from exercising theirs. Your success is based on people's rights to express satisfaction or dissatisfaction with vendors and their services yet you find it appalling that people express themselves about their religious convictions. I will never use or support Angie's List again. I have tried to write to them about removing me from membership and any other peripheral identification but the website isn't geared for complaining about Angie's List itself, only services of others. I'm sick of all this idiotic, unilateral self-righteous piety of people and organizations that are tolerant only of their own viewpoints.
