Highest respect for Andrew Millison
Andrew Millison taught a PDC with a neighborhood focus for our Institute (www.proutinstitute.org). He supported our efforts to engage our neighborhood in a PDC and worked with us to ensure the highest standards for the course while adding design projects we requested that supported our neighborhood goals. He is extremely knowledgeable, an excellent instructor, and easy to work with. If you have the good fortune to take either a workshop, class or full permaculture design certificate course with him, I highly recommend it! All of the students in the course (6 weekends over a 7 month time span) gave extremely high reviews and were very satisfied with the course. He had absolutely no negative feedback on the evaluations. Meh. Wasted my money. He comes off as a know-it-all who appears to actually know very little, if anything, of real substance. What's up with the "world is coming to an end" tone anyway? Peak oil is real, sure, but so is renewable energy, en masse! Don't bother. There are tons of better places to learn permaculture from someone who actually knows their stuff and won't preach nonsense at you. Don't bother. As a member of the editorial guild of the longest running permaculture journal, Permaculture Activist magazine, I have nothing but the highest regard for Andrew Millison's work and ethics. The badmouthing going on here is nothing more than biased attacks that have no basis or merit.
I, too, have felt the wrath of Vladislav Davidzon (the likeliest troll on this page) and STRONGLY recommend that everyone avoid his "free" PDCs. Neither the Permaculture Institute, nor the Permaculture Institute of North America, nor the Permaculture Activist nor any other certifying agency recognize the validity of certificates granted by him or his agencies: Open Permaculture, Regenerative Leadership Institute, American Permaculture Association, Common Circle Education. All are hosted by VD and MANY who have dealt with him have been VERY dissatisfied.
I have pages and pages of complaints about his businesses.

I am Jes Gerdts. I worked with Andrew this year and have taken two courses with him.
He is outstanding and at the top of his craft. Why else would he be listed as a diplomat for the Permaculture Institute of America.
His is a mentor. The post above is a smear attempt and a poor one at that.

If you are reading this message, then you probably googled my name and found this curious posting and are wondering: “What’s this about? I heard Andrew Millison was a decent guy.”
These postings were made by a disturbed and vindictive individual who never took a course from me.
I stood up to a bully and this is what I got.
As far as the Permaculture courses I teach at Oregon State University, I have the highest student evaluation scores of any instructor in the horticulture department.
I am a person of integrity and anyone who actually knows me and worked with me will attest to that.

My name is Darren J. Doherty and I am the principal of Regrarians Ltd, an Australian-based non-profit that has worked all over the world in regenerating landscapes and communities since 1993.
I have known Andrew Millison since he did a Keyline Design Course hosted by Brad Lancaster and his local team and led by myself in Tuscon AZ in 2007.
I've watched Andrew's progress since then and have found him to be an honest, diligent and effective Permaculture trainer and practitioner, and take this pitiful and petulant smear as an offence to Andrew's character and high professional standards.
I'm frankly surprised and bemused by the existance of this 'complaint' and would suggest that whomever is behind this reveal both themselves and some thorough details rather than gutlessly shooting from the hip.

What are you talking about? Its the only PDC that exists with required assignments that ensure design competency!
I've studied with Bill Mollison and Geoff Lawton, and I think Andrew's course is more rigorous and fruitful on the dollar!

i do not really like to get into a conversation where someone has such outright hate for who they are commenting about. however, as someone who has known andrew for over 13+ years i feel the need to say that i have always found him to be honest and willing to talk. none of us are perfect and he has his views about our world and what is going to happen. this, however, has nothing to do with his level of knowledge and his ability to teach, both of which are of a high level. if the person commenting does something so silly as to really try to 'strip' andrew of his certificate i will gladly and immediately stand up to defend him and vouch for his credentials. and i'll not be alone in doing this.
i have hid my location as i do not trust this person and their ability to converse while emotional.
and to whomever is suppose to monitor this board, it says that 'personal attacks will be deleted'. so why are this person's attacks still up? his comments, fine, but he has gone beyond commenting.
Avoid Andrew Millison's permaculture courses! He is just spreading lies about peak oil and appears to have zero actual competence in subject matter presented.
His business practices are beyond shady.
Likely going to take your money and run with it!! Avoid Andrew Millison.
