Based on prior experience with Andersen and the recommendation of Curtis Lumber I ordered three patio sliders- two with single operating doors and one with double operating doors. They are terrible. The air infiltration is so bad in windy conditions that there is a noticeable draft at the door seals. We recently purchased a bunch of double hung windows, they came out and installed them for us, but that night, we noticed that our entire house is drafty and cold. I bought these windows to be more energy efficient, not to let cold air in, the sill was not lined up with the frame, we had to put towels under all of our double hung windows, about 20 total. Custom built our home in 2010. One frame cracked in half after install, Fibrex material. One single hung window had silicon inside the glass and had the frame warping in in different directions. It worked fine for six months then would no longer lock. Only took 18 months of service calls to get it fixed. I had Andersen Windows installed throughout my house by the local licensed Andersen dealer, Argonaut windows. They advised on the style, size, which way it opened etc. I didn't have much of an opinion on all that. Within a few months after installation the cranks started breaking. Purchased an expensive $300+ Anderson storm from Home Depot. The outside of the box has "Easy, 'oops-proof' installation - Any lost parts or mis-cuts during installation may be replaced free of charge" in giant letters on the outside of the box. When our contractor made a mistake with the installation requiring replacement parts, Anderson's call center in Manila, Philippines (800-933-3626 and 888-888-7020) said that only mis-cuts...
