Dr. Amy Jergens; Exceptional Vet
I had the opportunity to work with Dr. Amy Jergens when she was performed surgery on 2 of my horses. I was absolutely impressed with the level of professionalism and the depth of intellect she displayed. Every step of the way, Dr. Jergens carried out the utmost detail from the explanations to the prep and actual surgery. I had the pleasure of being able to actually watch her lead the team during surgery and left knowing that my horses receive the absolute finest care. Her dedication and experience runs deep, yet she has the ability to explain things in an easy to understand fashion. Many months after these surgeries, I moved away and had questions my current vet couldn't answer. Dr. Jergens, stepped in to lend her experience to the situation and guided us from hundreds of miles away. That is dedication and a passion like no other I have experienced. She is an amazing person & surgeon, nothing short of the best.

Unprofessional vet & vet tech
I told Dr. Amy J. Jergens, in writing, that her employee, Janelle LeTourneau did the following: exaggerated her farrier credentials, lamed my horse,dispensed vet advice by text message, talked about Jergens' clients, traded on her wk. w/ Jergens' to approach farrier clients, made no apology nor any inquiry as to the suffering she had caused my mare, and refused to refund/reimburse me $86.43. Dr. Jergens called me, twice, each time defending/excusing her vet tech saying, "she's young and she didn't know what to do," then hung up on me. In both hang-up calls to me, Jergens refused to make any reasonable refund/reimbursal to conclude the matter. The money is not the primary issue for me, it's that she hurt my beloved horse and didn't even care. No Sorry, No, 'how is she?', No offer of a refund, Nothing! I think the vet and her vet tech are unprofessional.

Amy Jergens
I find Dr Jergens to be very knowledgeable and trust worthy. She has a wonderful gift of explaining the horse's diagnosis, treatment and prognosis in terms that I understand clearly.
She is detail oriented and complete. Dr Jergens loves being a veterinarian and she loves her patients. In the past, I have had professions that have worked on my horses who didn't like my horses. Dr Jergens always finds something complimentary to say about my horses because she truly likes them.
That means a great deal to me!
I admire how committed Dr Jergens is to her profession. The last emergency that I needed her, she dropped what her plans were the that night and showed up at my place with her whole family!!! She joyfully helped my ailing horse and me.
Only once in my life have I had a horse in surgery. Dr Jergen's skill and detail made a huge impression on me. I watched the surgery and saw how she made sure everything about the procedure went smoothly. Nothing was taken for granted.
My horse made a 100% recovery due to Dr Jergens dedication.
Northern Colorado is truly blessed to have such an intelligent, caring and humble veterinarian here. I thank God that I have a true friend in Amy.
We have worked with many Vets over the years, both on and off the track. Dr.
Jergens is far and away the best. Not only is she the most educated Vet we have had, but her diagnostic skills are off the chart. She has never failed to quickly diagnose, treat and cure every ailment our horses have encountered. And she cares very much about our horses.
For example, just recently she dropped by a bucket of supplement and she had a friend - another Vet - with her.
Even though I know she had a busy schedule she took her friend out in the pasture to say hi to a horse that she had cured of a very serious heart inflamation. She bragged on that horse as if he were her own!
Dr. Jergens has been an outstanding vet as well as person since I have been taking my horses to her. She is very thorough and doesn’t rush thru any procedures with my horses. A month ago I had to put a horse down due to a broken leg. She was there in a matter of minutes to help the horse but she also took the time to sit down with me, give me a hug and talk me thru all of the emotions that were going thru me. I have two younger horses and one is very concerned about shots. She took the time with her and made it “not a big deal†instead of just sticking her in the neck like other vets have done to some of my horses including this one.
I also have a mare that has a huge cyst in her stifle. Other vets just injected her and went on their way. They took the money and ran. They didn’t care about me or my horses. Dr. Jergens actually walked me thru what process we could try, other options if needed, cost, ultrasound, presentations, etc so I was completely aware of the process she was going to use on my mare.
It’s never “fun†to go to vets because usually it costs a lot or something is wrong BUT Amy makes the experience enjoyable and knowledgeable too. I always learn something about my horses and preventatives, etc.
She is great and I will DEFINITELY send any of my horses and friends her way.

Dear "Anonymous" complainer,
I am completely outraged by your slanderous, egregious and shameful remarks towards one of the most outstanding individuals and professional equine veterinarians that I have ever met! Having been a client of Dr.
Jergens for the last 3 years I find your statements completely ridiculous and with no merit. I have watched this woman repeatedly diagnose, repair and maintain various horses in our herd. We breed and train high-end barrel horses and Dr. Jergens has kept them in peek performing condition and we trust her completely with all care associated with our horses!
Her follow-up and client care is without compare and I can say this with some confidence as my father Dr. Wayne Cunningham who is an acclaimed and much accomplished retired Colorado State Veterinarian and he also uses and endorses Dr. Jergens! When we moved to Oklahoma Dr.
Jergens went so far as to align us with one of her associates that could provide the same level of care in our area.
So I say this to your "Anonymous" complainer, just because your an unhappy person in your own life and you choose to invest your time and effort and abusing, extorting and harassing a wonderful professional, mother, christian and very dear friend of the competitive horse world does not mean that anyone is going to listen or care about your toxic messages that you have spewed all over the internet. Good for you!
You have rallied the supporters of a great woman and you will look like the fool in the end. I hope this is accomplishing your goals and making you sleep better at night!

Soooo you guys are making these comments and spreading these "rumors" based off of what someone told you? That seems a little tacky!
I goggled her name and there is nothing but good things written about her. She has written article's for major horse magazine's. She also has been honored at many vet schools and has references from the 3 major vet clinics all over the U.S. I think these things speak much stronger than a single incident with one person, that I have never even heard of...
Sorry it just doesn't add up. It might be a good idea to find out the truth before you start "banning" a vet from your "barn".
I reported this to the AFA and they faxed me a contact list to get the word out.
