Amstar Cinemas
Disrespect to first responders
Took my wife and kids to Amstar Movie Theaters- alabaster, AL. We went to see Mr peebody & shermon.
Being an 11 year veteran of law enforcement I carry a gun, badge and commission card every where. When I got out of our car my duty weapon came uncovered as well as my badge which was next to it. I paid for two adult and two children's tickets while my wife took my girls to the bathroom. I went on inside to buy popcorn, candy and drinks for 4 people. A man dressed in a suit approached me at the food counter. He identified himself as the general manager, Justin Pool. The man asked if I was an officer. I made sure he could see my badge next to my gun. He told me they did not allow guns in there Theaters but would allow me just this time. I explained politely, federal law allowed for certified police officers with badges and commission cards to carry there guns any where in the US because we are technically never off duty and might have to act if something happens. He said it was private property and if I wanted to play it that way I could be told to leave.
I said it's right to, ask me to leave if that's what you want. He staired at my wife and two kids but did not say anything else. My 5 year old asked me why he did not like the police? I told her we would talk about it later. We purchased our food went on to the movie without any more conflict but he did continue starring at me.
To say I was mad is an understatement. I fully intend to never go to any Amstar Theaters of any location ever again, file a complaint with there corporate head quarters and spread the word they not only don't support police officers but don't support the 2nd ammendment.
