User's recommendation: If you lose your wallet or purse you know what to do is call Credit card company and your bank to place a hold on your CC or debit.Make sure that your bank customer service is open 24/7 because there is a few banks sre NOT open especially on a Sunday. Sunday is a day you don't want to lose your wallet or purse.

The bank I ended up contacting had nothing to do with the bank in Los Angeles CA which was sold to another bank a long time ago.

Im trying to check about a safety deposit key I found in my grandmas effects dated 1977.

I guess the American savings bank in Whittier CA, where the account was, no longer exists. Not sure where to go from here.
