This is an automotive shell game for money

This company was formerly Flashback motorworks. The only thing that has changed is one of the owners was pushed out of the business.

These people operated out of *** before moving to buford. They closed down there last shop after running it into the ground with peoples cars still there. The cars were moved and hidden from customers that they did not want to deal with. The "founder" of the new shop Mike Karbowski was directly involved in this and he just changed the name and is going at it again.

I would not take your car there because they simply can not be trusted. Every employee working there used to work at the Flashback Motorworks location. There is no telling how long it will be before they do the same thing and close shop and move locations again.

They took my money don't let them make more off you.

Hey Joey,

I'm sorry you don't approve of the way I run the shop, I've always tried to be completely fair with all our employees. I Hope your new shop is up and running and all is well!

Best of luck to you.

I wonder if Steveeee has confused American Resto Mods with another company. They are located in Buford, GA - not Lilburn, GA.

I was looking for a place near Buford to restore my 1968 Camaro, which had been sitting for 8 years in storage. Despite seeing Steveeee’s review, I decided to check out American Resto Mods due to professionalism of their website, as well as Ralph’s reply on this site. I am VERY GLAD that I did. First, I called and spoke with Ralph, outlining the condition of the car.

Having not seen the car, Ralph gave me an approximate price range to get it running again. I had the Camaro towed to their shop. Frank James, their Project Manager, kept me well informed on the initial safety check cost, problems they found, and my options. When all was done, they had the Camaro running in a week, and the total cost came in about the middle of Ralph’s original sight-unseen price range.

They also gave me lots of great maintenance advice. Now please recognize that I know little about restoring classic cars. These guys could have taken advantage of me, but did not. They are an HONEST PROFESSIONAL SHOP with reasonable prices.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND them! Check out the pictures on their website of my 1968 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible. She’s purring like a kitten!...

a very BIG kitten who’s on the prowl. 8)

Well I worked here and this guy is correct. Ralph is the true owner and Mike Karbowski"the manager" is a complete joke and has NO CLUE what he is doing!

The quality of the work sucks and I would NEVER take my car here! Beware and check around before you even consider bringing your car. While I was there there were many complaints about the work and Mike Karbowski. 90% of what you will be told by Karbowski is *** and I witnessed *** work and also at times dangerous partly do to Mike forcing the guys to cut corners.

Just be careful before considering anything by them being done.

I am not some disgruntled employee. I left on my own because I just could not believe what went on here.

We've never had an employee named Joe, nor anyone from South Carolina, so I'm not sure of the intent of this attack? I'm always available via phone at 678-835-**** for an open and honest conversation, if you have an issue you wish to discuss.

Our work speaks for itself, there are over 35,000 pictures of our work on our web site. This level of photo documentation is purely to show our customers the details of how work is performed on their vehicles.

Ralph Sikes - Owner American Restomods

American Restomods is owned by Ralph Sikes (myself) ALSO a former customer of Flashback Motorworks. The shop manager (Mike Karbowski) and three other employees came from Flashback to start American Restomods in April of 2009. In 2008 Mike gave me the heads up of the unethical practices occurring at Flashback and I removed my car from the facility. After not finding a suitable shop I sat down with Mike and put together a plan to open this shop. We have been very successful with lots of repeat and referral business.

Please drop by and visit is in BUFORD and I can provide many references if you like.
