I own a restaurant and purchased a $3,000 lava rock grill AECB-24 24" Heavy Duty Charbroiler from American Range and only used the unit for 90 days before it totally broke down. The crates that hold the lava rocks have broken all up and the frame that holds lower crates is burnt out in sections so the whole frame of unit is bad.
We normally use the Atosa lava rock grill (as it is about 1/3 the price) but we purchased this unit for the so-called heavy duty that it claims to be. We contacted the Warrant Service unit, a guy named Alfred, responds with the following: "This is unfortunate, I am afraid this is a non-warranty. The reason this happened is simple; these units are not designed to use too much lava rock.
This is the result of using too much rock. You are supposed to use only one loose layer of rock, the rock is there to evenly distribute the heat and to prevent
flare-ups.
If this is not done, then what happens is a barrier is created and instead of the heat rising, the heat is blocked. This will cause damage to the following;
Burner box, Bottom Grates, Burners, Gas valves, knobs and the list goes on.
Regardless, we want to help, I have attached the parts breakdown for this unit, please"
They never responded back with any solutions, they never owned up to their garbage product and the scam warranty service they claim to have.
What a total waste of money on this garbage product. Its a shame for a company with this reputation to have such a subpar product and subpar service.

36" ARR636-L Range Caught on Fire
I'd never heard of American Ranges before. The 36" range came with the home.
We've owned it for 3 years and have had multiple issues. Yesterday the range caught on fire. The fire was located inside the *** compartment. We shutoff the gas to range but the fire continued.
We called the fire department to help put out the fire. I called American Range this morning to report the safety issue and ask about the warranty. They wouldn't even talk with me because I didn't have the invoice. They also said that after 2-years they don't cover any repairs.
I'm now stuck with having to replace a 3-year old range at a cost of about 6k. Save yourself the trouble and stay away from American Ranges.

I've already had to replace the igniter as other reviews have mentioned. They're junk.

We wanted it removed and a refund on 7/29/22, but they slow walked the service 41 days later and now refuse to refund and remove. The worthless CEO Shane Demirjian is a clown show himself and it is evident the rest of the employees are clowns as well. We live within 30 minutes of their factory in Las Vegas and had the worst experience ever. We gave them a shot at putting a range from them in our home kitchen before changing out our 6 restaurants equipment.
They failed big time by first sending out pure garbage and expecting a customer to tolerate their laziness. We are counting our blessings that we did not enter an agreement with these scam artists to outfit our restaurants. Imagine us telling customers and our staff to be patient for 40 plus days because our *** equipment from American Range doesn't work. I can't see them being around much longer running a business like that, right into the ground.
Horrible customer service and a horrible business model. Stay far away from these ***

I bought my American Range two years ago and have had nothing but problems with it, Every 6 months my ignitors burn out. The first couple of times because it was under Warrantee they covered the parts, but good luck in any kind of help now.
I am a chef and my business is a coffee shop and outside catering. I have lost so many hours, business and money just waiting around for parts. The Customer Service which usually is the same person over and over again does nothing about the lemon I have. Even though the problems started from the beginning they say they can not help us because it is out of warrantee.
I would really love to start a class action against this company

What more do you need? the unit didnt last 3 damn months, its garbage that the only detail left out. Not only is the product garbage so is their warranty service which is garbage. A proper company lives up to their reputation, and owns their product quality.
The only thing left out is the company's confidence in their *** products. If they had the slightest professionalism they would have given solutions, or at least subsidized the cost of repair for their subpar product... that's what has been left out. What do you need me to put more photos of their *** product or a copy or the invoice which is worth nothing?!?

I have purchased tens of kitchen equipment, dozens of brands and millions of dollars worth of equipment, and without a doubt that this has been the worst and most horrible experience, and only exemplifies the enlightened management which decided to lose good customers for the sake of not owning up to their warranty which is considered a word of honor in the business world. This is why this product, service and warranty can only be described as garbage, and that is where I will throw away their garbage grill, in the trash, and purchase another one from a reputable company.
