Awful experience! Please avoid!

!I am a veteran and First Responder and have been using American Patriot Getaways (APG) since 2016. July 25 through Aug 1, 2022, we booked a week getaway at Saw Mill Springs, a "Luxury Plus" cabin with an indoor pool. Total cost was $4,000 for cabin alone. What an ABSOLUTE DISSAPOINTMENT. I generally get one week off every two years for my family. Upon arrival at the "CABIN" the grass was a foot high, there was garbage everywhere, the grill was a charcoal grill that was rusty and nearly unusable and immediately knew we had been taken. Inside the cabin the carpets/stairs were filthy, the arcade machine did not work and the pool basement looked like an amazon jungle. There was black mold everywhere and water was actually dripping down the walls, doorways and windows. I have many photographs. The waterfall in the pool didn't work and the dehumidifier in the basement was broken. I called the service desk and it was so bad that they moved us to another old, run down cabin called "Misty Mountain Sunrise". I will say that a representative named Dana was helpful and said he would return $600 for the drop down in cabin quality. At the end of this ordeal we received $553 total for this disaster of a vacation. We stayed at this cabin for 3 nights while they fixed the dehumidifier and wiped off the black mold at Saw Mill Springs. At Misty Mountain Sunrise I was lucky enough to clean a propane grill that had never been cleaned and my wife had the wonderful experience of cleaning the entire cabin. The beds were nicely made and the oven was very clean. I almost couldn't believe it. Luckily we found the vacuum and went to work. On the Thursday when we were supposed to move back into Saw Mill Springs, I called and the service desk finally gave us the Ok to return to Saw Mill Springs that afternoon. The cleaning crew, who does not speak English, I speak Spanish, came to Misty Mountain Sunrise and asked us what we were doing there. Obviously another issue that had not been pushed forward by management. Our 2 year old son was taking a nap and was woken up and our 9 year old, special needs son, was completely out of sorts at this point of the four day ordeal. We quickly packed up the entire cabin as fast as we could. Even the cleanincrew knew this was not right and continued to apologize. It was clearly not their fault. We returned to Saw Mill Springs and the cleaning crew did a good job cleaning up the black mold. However, the dehumidifier was still not fixed so every four hours I would empty it for the next four days. Had I not done this it would have quickly turned into the mess we had days prior. One night, while swimming, my wife turned on the dishwasher and the water began draining through the recessed lighting in the basement. Another night, the sink pipe fell off and we cleaned water off the entire kitchen floor. You honestly cannot make this experience up. I called and emailed management upon arriving home and asked for a refund and they said the most they would return was $553. I also just realized you cannot leave a review on the APG site and it shows all 5 star reviews of their choosing. Please use another cabin rental company. We will never return to this sham of a company called APG. They only care about money and could care less about you or your experience. Lesson learned! Run!Run!Run!

Been a repeat customer of Patriot for years now but this year we rented a cabin for a 10 day stay with kids and grandkids so we wanted to cook more at the cabin to save a little money. When we arrived we quickly noticed that the grill that was advertised did not exist. Patriot sent an employee to investigate and we were told that it would be handled. 3 days later, no response so I call back in. Patriots response was that there were 2 park style grills on location that were concreted into the ground in a way that the grills aren't flat and a hotdog would just roll right off. Patriot states that the cabin owner chose those park style grills instead. Being a repeat customer for many years now I realize how bad this company is for listing up to date pictures and details of their rentals. When viewing their properties beware that the pictures you are viewing are probably up to 20 years old and in my eyes that is border line fraudulent and I will be looking elsewhere in the future for my vacationing. Hard to think that you drop several grand into a rental and they couldn't even try to make this right. NOT A HAPPY CAMPER WITH PATRIOT TODAY and will not be back.
