We purchased a five year policy for our KitchenAid refrigerator in October, 2012. After our refrigerator's ice maker stopped working in July, 2016, we had one of AIG's repairmen fix it. When he went to check the serial number on our refrigerator, he noticed that they didn't match. The problem was that our serial # didn't match the serial number on the policy due to an imput error on AIG's end. Not only would they not correct the problem and refund the repair charge we paid out, they also refused to update our refrigerator's serial number on our policy, rendering our policy useless!

Being screwed over for 12 years

Being screwed over for 12 years aig has been screwing me for 12 years their adjusters are only educated in checking off the box the denied based send you one Ime's hundreds of times and if you get a doctor that is actually an accredited doctor and agrees with all your injuries and treatment he's never used again then they send you to some Third World doctor that will lie through his teeth most likely have a dozen malpractice suits against him or even had one that had his medical license revoked they sent me to him six times and each time I was turned away till finally I found out that the doctors license was revoked to practice medicine and he was under investigation for insurance fraud these are the type of doctors/specialists as they say they send you to I had multiple multiple multiple surgeries and they insult my intelligence each and every time by denying physical therapy Aig should be under investigation For bad faith cases And find 85 billion that they received in the bail out and divided amongst themselves as bonuses Aig is a total scam company it should not be called Worker's Compensation it should be called insurance compensation because they are the only one who receives compensation by not giving you the proper treatment 12 years of my life has been a loss my family my children my wife financially mentally and physically destroyed I couldn't even put a price tag on what I should be paid for the suffering physically mentally and financially that I incurred cause of Aig but I do believe in karma I do believe paybacks a *** and revenge is a *** so Aig if you know who I am now you know you're dealing with a *** I will be coming after you by exposing you to the news media the public the government whoever I can and that's a guaranteed promise

Well I got one even better I'm been in and out of the operations for 14 Years and they are totally obvious to all my injuries trying time and time again to SCREW ME OVER REVOKE THEIR LICENSE FOR WORKS COMPENSATION IN ALL STATES. They do use 6 world country Doctors that can't even speak English sad I hope they get look into by the Government the state is just as corrupt as their adjusters doctors lawyers supervisors upper management to the top. Should be put underneath a magnifying glass

AIG/Whirlpool Service SCAM

I've been paying for extended whirlpool coverage for 4 years, on a number of appliances. (As you know, the price increases every year.) When I made my call to Whirlpool, they asked a number of questions over and over again , kept me holding while they "checked" my contract.

Told me I had to call AIG. Result: They will not repair my malfunction (misaligned gears which make horrible noise, blocking out the TV.) I no longer have a contract and no money was ever returned. Numerous calls to AIG were made disregarded.

Do not fall for this scam. I will cancel all my contracts.

Changing Direct Deposit

Every organization I contacted to change my bank information - direct deposit and automatic withdrawals accomplished this on line or on the phone - auto withdrawals included. I had to call AIG to get the form (it is not on their website) emailed to me. I then had to log on, print it, complete it, drive to the bank and have a bank rep sign it. So I had to waste time on line and on the phone, waste a check and envelope and snail mail it to them. So I used paper, toner, a check, gas and a stamp! Ridiculous and inefficient in today's automated world. Why can't they be like every other organization?

American International Group Accidental Death Insurance Review

I've had the worst experience with American General Life , now known as AIG. My mom had an accidental death policy and she recently passed away.

Her death was considered accidental and it was unexpected and unforseen. However, it was not sudden she was in a coma for 2wks. Due to her poor prognosis her doctors and I decided to take her off life support. That decision made her death a "natural death", although it was an ACCIDENT that lead to the coma.

Needless to say, they denied our claim. This is after I called and explained the situation to see if it would be covered. They said "yes, no problem". My attorney followed up with them.

He was told the same thing, that the claim would be paid. No investigation or anything on the further. Just denied because the death certificate says "natural causes". But what about the accident that lead to the coma and the fact that she had very little brain function due to the accident.

In my opinion AIG doesn't care much about their customers whom pay faithful each month, year after year. Nor does it care about the families that are already devastated and saddened by the lost of their loved ones.

From what I've seen and experienced with AIG their utmost concern and top priority is REVENUE! $$$

Aig Insurance Workers Compensation Review

I have Aig service and im readt to take this to avigher up.Every mth you give me a run around about my meds and paying my bills The carrier seems to be in the refrigrator about when and what she want to do.6 mths this tears and i have 2 to3 dats gabs were im out of medication which is vital to my releif.. You have did this 80 times over the years.Im filing a complaint if this is not resolved

Cancelled Life Insurance Policy Without Notice

My husband and I started looking into changing his life insurance policy into a whole life insurance policy. My husband did the physical exam and everything was being processed. The other day my husband received a call saying that they can't transfer the funds because the funds are no longer there due to us not paying our last bill. The AIG bill comes every three months and has for the last 11 years. I looked back in our account and I paid every other bill we've received. They said we only have a 30 grace period and if its not paid our policy is terminated, too bad so sad. They did not send me a bill and now finding out that they claim they can just keep our money we've paid for the last 11 years, I guess I'm not surprised.

I am having the same issue. They need to be shut down. I was diagnosed with RSD in my left leg after a injury at work. They denied me any money I haven't been able to work in 5 years. They have been letting me see a pain management doctor. Been on meds for 5 years and went to my appointment 2 months ago and they cut off my pain meds the only thing giving me relief. I don't hardly sleep anymore cause of the pain. So I had the doctor schedule a nerve block just so I can get some relief and the procedure was suppose to be today 1/29. And they refuse to approve it. And I have already had 6 of these over the last 5 years. They have completely destroyed my life refusing everything. My attorney can't get anything done. And I have a wife and 2 kids. To take care my wife was diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer last December so she can't work. And with them refusing everything is just wrong and heartless. The rsd I will have the rest of my life and they said in the next 5 years or so I will more than likely have drop foot cause the nerve that causes drop foot is completely unresponsive Im at a loss. Ive tried going to work and Noone will hire me due to the rsd and disability won't aprove me cause rsd is still being researched

.Yes I also was hurt very very badly on September 27, 2004 I am having the worst ever in my life confrontations with everyone of AIG's adjusters I have numerous surgeries done to me already but I can't even keep track off I am in chronic pain 24 hours a day and my adjusters think they are God well they are not better lowest form of being human race matter fact they don't even belong in the human race they're a waste of oxygen valuable oxygen I never wished ill upon anyone but if there was anyone I would I wish that every AIG'S every adjuster would be severely injured and have a *** like they are being charge of their case treatment life financially anything just to make their lives miserable that they would like to commit suicide that would be the best payback but I could possibly wish upon them because having them put in jail for insurance fraud and having IME doctors perjured themselves over and over again this company that took the bailout from the government which was actually taxpayers money should've never happened

AIG IS A TOAL RIPOFF DO NOT Waste your money

My elderly mother 94 paid this company close to $170,000 in premiums over 17 years, and last month (Feb 1,2016) put in a claim for long term care (home health aid) benefits..... She never put in a claim before nor received one penny in benefits........She can hardly walk, needs bathing, changing her depends, and food preparation/eating......We just received a letter claiming shes not sick enough and doesn't meet the requirement for long term care assistance. I'm in the process of hiring a good attorney to sue this company, very sad this is the world we live in,,,,,,,

AIG Travel Guard Insurance denial

I am writing to express my displeasure with the rejection of my AIG Travel Guard insurance claim, but more importantly, the unethical treatment I was given by a number of AIG Travel Guard staff members in trying to obtain information on my claim rejection and subsequent appeal.

We purchased travel insurance with AIG Travel Guard on 8/21/14 for our Italy trip scheduled for 10/17/14. I developed a back problem after the purchase date which got progressively worse. My doctor decided that the trip would be detrimental and we cancelled. My claim for reimbursement of $6800 was mailed on 10/17/14. I recieved the final rejection of my claim on 3/4/15, six months later.

The first rejection of my claim in writing was received on 2/12/15. The reason given was that I had a pre-exisiting condition based on some chiropractor visits prior to buying the insurance. I asked to speak with a supervisor. The supervisor gave a totally different reason for my rejection. Her explanation was that I saw an orthopedic surgeon in October after I filed my claim. I asked to speak with a manager. He agreed with me that it could not be the reason for my rejection. I asked what it would take to reconsider his decision. He said a statement from my chiropractor stating that my condition was stable and controlled prior to purchasing the insurance. My chiropractor sent in that statement the next day and one month later 3/4/15 came the second rejection letter. This time the reason given was because the 8/22/14 treatment I received from my chiropractor. There was no mention of the dates prior to my insurance being purchased. He states in the letter that my condition was controlled and stable up to 8/22. Since the policy states that it goes into effect at 12:01 am that day after purchase of the insurance, the treatment I received, although it was after the time it goes into effect, is still considered a pre-existing condtion.

I filed with the NYS Dept. of Finance a complaint against this judgement. After three months, they determined that this was a legal matter. However, in the information they requested from AIG Travel Guard the reason given for my rejection went back to the initial letter listing a number of dates in the lookback period prior to purchasing the insurance, a direct contradiction of the March rejection letter.

I called the writer of that letter and asked to answer two quesitons:

How can your medical examiner determine it was a pre-existing condition when both my doctor and chiroprator stated in writing that it wasn’t?

How can getting treatment for a condtion after the policy goes into effect constitute a pre-exisitng conditon?

He could not answer. I went on to a supervisor. She could not answer it. I moved to the next level, a manager. She could not answer the questions and in fact it took almost a month to finally get a call from the head of the department. He did not answer the questions either.

After dealing with seven people in the claims and consumer complaint divisions of AIG Travel Guard, I reached out to the top. I called the office of the CEO of AIG and was promised a callback on three different occasions. None came. When I stated that I would go public concerning the treatment I have been given, I got a call from the President of AIG Travel Guard. He was pleasant, apologized for how I had been treated, but was unwilling to allow any further appeals. He did not answer the questions I posed.

I was left with this situation. My chiropractor and doctor stated in writing that I did not have a pre-existing condition. AIG Travel Guard personnel from the first claim’s analyst to the President of the company played the shell game of changing reasons for my rejection and refusing to answer my questions at every level.

The two altenatives that still existed were to hire an attorney or go to small claims court. I contacted an attorney who said it would cost at least $3000 with no guarantees. I found that to go to small claims court I would have to file in Wisconsin or New York City, and even if they find in my favor, I have to collect on my own. My wife enouraged me to drop the whole thing insisting that I was getting very stressed out by it.

How I was treated by AIG Travel Guard was wrong, and I feel I need to let others know that it is company unworthy on anyone’s business.

American International Group - Aig Life Insurance Review from Waco, Texas

I have had the worst experience with this company. The manager, Curtis Lee of the Bellaire, TX office does not return any of your phone calls.

Every time I call, it's either he just left or is on vacation. I have been trying to contact him for over a month. The agents are always changing. The current agents voicemail keeps saying he is on vacation & his voicemail is full but the secretary told me he had returned on Tuesday & had just left the office.

This insurance company is a joke. I would not recommend anyone to get insurance through them. I was just trying to contact them to see if my payment had been received, which I mailed out on 2/10/16 & as of today, 3/3/16, has not been cashed.

I'm sure it's sitting on someone's desk. I guess when you go on vacation, there is no else who takes over the files!
