Not happy

American Guardian Warranty - Not happy

So far all the places Ive called are not familiar nor do they accept payment from this warranty company. Ive tried numerous times to contact someone and nobody ever answers me or gets back to me.

Its a complete scam, and according to other reviews its a sham and they wont honor anything.

Ive called 5 different places asking if theyll accept this as payment and they wont, in fact theyve never even heard of them. Its for a 2019 freightliner cascadia I bought from a dealer.

Wanted to let people know that you need to research your Warranty Co. And if its not Ligit like American Guardian DO NOT PAY FOR AN EXTENDED WARRANTY. Cause they will not PAY for Anything !

Very Disappointed in American Guardian Services ! I have a 5th wheel thats only 5 yrs.

old and had a Water Heater issue that what was a very simple Warranty Claim and they denied the claim. More importantly did not reach out to me on their findings even after asking for a further review of my claim.

Do not purchase a RV that will provide a Warranty through AMERICAN GUARDIAN , OR ANY OF ITS COMPANIES.

I am sorry you had such a bad experience. We were thrown off yesterday when doing final paperwork on our 2018 Winnie Drop camper.

They offered the extended warranty and then said it was $4995 - Cash/CC - not included in the financing of the camper. I wasn't willing to do it at that moment. I was then told I can come back in a few days & he will honor the quote (if I came in with cash) I thought it was odd.

Thankfully, I started looking at all the reviews for AGWS. I feel like we just dodged a bullet on this one.

Warranty did not cover manufacturer defect-related claim

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

This company does not pay diagnostic fees, though you the customer are required to have the diagnosis done to diagnose the problem(s) needing repair. This company denies coverage for manufacturer defects when non-related maintenance [like an oil change at the suggested number of hours] isn't done - though no proof exists that the manufacturer defect can be directly related to routine maintenance.

The bottom line is that this company provides policies that apparently they do not fully honor, and we found out too late it's a waste of money and they are NOT consumer-friendly. It is not recommended to purchase a policy with this company for any reason. Supervisor was rude. They do their job saving the company's money by not honoring claims.

My family is on a low, fixed income as we are disabled and feel taken advantage of. Repairs will cost us $2000 that we just don't have.

We have to ask our children for help now. WISH I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS!!!

Rude customer service. Trying to deny claim

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Transmission pan leak and seal leaking. Air conditioning actuator bad.

Problem with starting, doesn't do it all the time but when it does i have to get underneath vehicle and take a stick and wiggle wires to starter. Company and Dealership can't agree on its starter or wires. Just fix it. I'm 100% disabled close range shotgun blast.

Used to be a police officer.

This situation is just sad. No 4x4 its winter and the Holidays.

RV tire warranty is not worth the paper its printed on

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I purchased this motorhome/trailer coverage when I bought the trailer new, to cover wheels and tires. Recently, I had an issue with a tire, so I tried to file a claim.

Customer service told me they will not deal directly with the customer, only the repair facility. I contacted three local tire shops, and all three told me they will not deal with this company, because the DO NOT pay the claims. I contacted the dealer who sold me the policy. At first, they were willing to help me find a repair facility.

After about a week of going back and forth, they couldn't find a repair facility that would honor the contract, and quit returning my calls.

The company I bought the RV from, doesn't honor a contract that they sold me I ended up paying for the repair out of pocket. Will be cancelling this scam contract tomorrow.

Extremely poor and lackadaisical customer service

This company has extremely poor and lackadaisical customer service and does not seem to care much about their contract holder's (our customer's) welfare. We are a family owned and operated FULLY MOBILE repair facility and do a lot of both manufacturer and third party warranty service on RV's.

Over three weeks ago we diagnosed a customer's problem and called American Guardian Warranty for approval. After spending a good deal of time obtaining all details regarding our customer's RV, contract, and details of repair part numbers, costs, etc. told us we were not in their system and needed to FAX them our license and insurance information to be put into their system, further telling us the process wouldn't take very long at all, "anywhere from 1/2 hour to a couple hours at worst" and once this was done they would call us back with details regarding what they would and/or would not cover under warranty. I told them our customer was in critical need of the repairs ASAP.

I immediately FAXED the info. and after several days no one would return our calls or email with any information at all. Another day or two went by and still no return calls or emails to those we sent inquiring about status. About a week and 1/2 later I did manage to get someone live on the phone who said there was no record of us or our FAXed information and we needed to start the process all over again, which we immediately did.

We are now just short of one month after the initial call and STILL WE CAN NOT GET THEM TO RETURN PHONE CALLS OR EMAIL messages. Our customer, understandably very upset, said they were able to get in touch with someone just a day or so ago and was told they still have no record of us, not even record of our phone call(s). Needless to say, we lost a very good job and a very good customer over this company's extremely poor, lackadaisical, and unprofessional "service". Unfortunately it seems our customer wasted their money (thousands of dollars) paying for a useless contract.

Ironically we received a phone call just prior to this writing from someone with warranty under this same company; we turned them down and told them either pay us upfront and hope to get reimbursed or they would have to have their unit towed to a repair facility (we are fully mobile) and pay hotel expenses while there waiting for repairs.

As most RVers in this area, they are here on vacation so this will definately end it on poor, not-so-fun terms.

our slide on our 5th wheel failed 3 weeks ago - we don't know why it failed- our slide is hanging, we can move it.. the pulley system pulled a bracket out of the wall and broke the screws and fasteners are excluded from our 3500.00 policy!

are you kidding me???

they say we need to tech to say what is wrong with the slide, but he won't touch it without prior approval... we've not even had the 5th wheel for barely 6 months....

Bad Company, Bad Customer Service, DO NOT BUY THIS POLICY

Had a claim, was denied, had another claim which happened on a Friday but nobody is available until Monday to authorize work being done.

I traded my car in after having used the insurance about 14 months of the 60 month term which I paid $3,000. I got a refund for $700.

Not sure how they calculated this. So I have been calling and faxing and e mailing to get my refund back but I am still waiting and its been 2 months. They have lots of excuses not receiving the fax or e mail or need more forms filled out. BS.

The company that actually sold me the insurance was Rate Genius, and they are horrible as well.

Stay away if you want to be appreciated. If they make the sale, you become a nobody.

Contract not honered

My husband cancelled his contract after finding out that is company was providing false info. He called to get his refund they told him that he had to wait 30 days before he could get his money.

I told him that is ***. I called and this customer care person wanted to talk trash to me. I ask for his supervisor, he tells me he is part of management , that was *** too. i told him I did not want to talk with him give me someone that has more authority.

I gave him my phone number the lady called me back and told me that she will put a rush on his money. I have never known for a person that had to wait 30 days for a refund.

They are full of it . They knew my husband was not capable of doing business , but they got the right on this time.

5 weeks & waiting for an engine!

June 9th, 2013 my mechanic of 26 yrs found that my engine was the cause of my 2006 Chevy Impala dying out on me on the freeway. It took 5 1/2 weeks of waiting for American Guardian to respond, and 20+ phone calls to almost everyone on staff to get some resolve. I am a 100% service-connected veteran and a car is essential to get to my appts. at the VA.

The final blow was that my mechanic billed shop hours plus the standard labor and was not paid what he was promised my American Guardian. They agreed to the extra shop hours because of the difficulty it took to find a suitable engine that required extra work to replace my old one.

I had to pay the difference of $1,042 . Mike at American Guardian never had the decency to even return one of my phone calls. PLEASE, I URGE YOU, DO NOT EVER, EVER USE AMERICAN GUARDIAN.

American guardian inshurance

stay away from these guys I have had nothing but problems my car has been in the shop since 6/17/2009 and here we are 8/12/2009 ...give you any idea of what kind of service you might get

whats even better is that we practically had to beg to get and inspector out to even look at it to approve the work.....still waiting for approval ...i guess if you could get them to return a phone call ....they don't seam very motivated to do that ..

(just ignore him maybe he will go away) must be there policy

bottom line is that I have a jeep siting in a shop with a work needing to be done no idea and no response back on when or even if they will fix it

if it was owner neglect that caused this then of course I don't expect them to pay for something that was ( my fault ) But that's not the case

let me say again I paid for a warranty on my jeep ...and now I'm paying a car payment and insurance on a car I cant drive and its the only car I have, so I have had to deal with finding a way back and for to work and anything else ...glad I have a skate board .... really happy about that .....

I would stay away from these guys like I said I would not wish them on my worst enemy

Ripped Off by American Guardian Warranty

My vehicle (a 2002 Chevy Tahoe) began making a few odd noises. I then took it to my local Chevrolet dealership for a diagnostic and repairs as I always do. The list turned out to be as follows:

- AC compressor locked up - replacement of compressor, serpentine belt and all related components.

- Inner & outer tie rod ends on passenger side - replacement of both

- Rattle in the steering column - replace steering shaft

- They also found a bolt broken on the exhaust manifold.

I was quite surprised at the repair list b/c I had just bought the vehicle a few months prior. Luckily it had the bumper to bumper warranty. Being that I have dealt with warranty companies before I was careful that I followed procedure. I left all warranty contact info for the dealer and expected to get my vehicle back in a day or two.

That was definitely not the case. I received a call from the dealer that of their bill of around $3,000, the warranty was going to pay $1300 or so. I was shocked at this so-called bumper to bumper warranty. Long story short, I called customer service myself to inquire. I was told that they only pay a certain amount per labor hour and for the replacement parts. Of course at the chevy dealership, their labor rate was quite a bit higher and they want to use certified GM parts, etc. I was told that was where the difference was.

Reluctantly I understood where they are coming from – I can’t expect them to pay the highest prices for the services that could be gotten cheaper elsewhere. So, out of cooperation (and that I wanted everything to be covered) I found out that they pay $80 per labor hour. Chevy was at $103. So I called around and found a shop that works for $82 per hour. They are a national chain and professionally recognized with their own 12 mo. Warranty on repairs so I had no hesitation. I thought, well, I will pay the extra $2 per hour to get this over with. The total bill for this place for the same repairs came to $2,022. Of course the warranty company came back with the same price they will pay - $1300. I talked to the manager of the repair facility who was very helpful and said that the part prices they were willing to pay were actually UNDER his cost! So, I called customer service again to find out what the deal was. I was told they simply go to a public auto parts website to get their prices. I went to that website and looked up the exact parts I needed. Their prices were in fact there on the web site, but in digging in further, I found they were not even looking at the part – they simply put in the vehicle info and immediately chose the cheapest part in the list that would fit. Believe it or not, these parts actually did not even include a warranty! Just on the tie rod ends there was a price difference of $50 each.

Another issue to this company is that customers are not allowed to speak with the dealer reps. So, I had to ask the manager at the repair facility to call and basically argue for me. He was very nice and was willing to do this. He finally, after all was said and done, was able to get me $50 more on my claim. Both he and the rep at the Chevy dealership said that was the worst warranty company they had ever dealt with and wanted to never call them again. They were very rude and uncaring to myself or the repair facilities.

So, in a nut shell I was stuck with an almost $800 bill and my wife was without a car for almost a month. Luckily I did not buy the warranty or I would be very irate at the money I would have wasted. But, I was almost equally upset b/c when I bought the vehicle this warranty came with it, so I was under the impression I was covered bumper to bumper. Buyers beware – avoid American Guardian at all costs!

One month in the shop. I have a GM vehicle.

After having the bumper to bumper warranty with 0 ded, I had to have the rear end replaced. 34 days later I got the car back. That was the first experience with american guardian. The second was the transmission.

32 days in the shop all due to american guardian dragging their feet. Do not I repeat DO NOT USE american guardian. I havent had a problem with them paying. They just take so long to give the dealer authorization to fix your vehicle.

STAY AWAY... On top of the long wait for the car to come back now I have another problem and I am weary to bring the car in the shop just b/c I know how long I will be with out a car.
