American Capital Group - Financial Service Review

AI Highlights
  • - This company is fraudulent; a scam that takes data.
  • - They debit accounts and fail to deliver financing after upfront payments.

This company is a fraudulent operation. It's a scam.

They take your personal information and say that you're approved, then the debit your account for thousands of dollars and after they have taken first and last month payments, they screw around and don't provide financing for the equipment. Don't fall victim to this company . Do not allow this company to charge your bank account or debit your credit card unless they provide financing upfront. This is a very unethical company that takes first and last months payments on a lease, which is normal on legitimate leasing companies, but then does not provide the financing.

It is extremely unethical that this company takes payments before actually coming through and providing funding for its customers. Stay away from this company !!!!

I had the same experience. Waited and waited for money to come through after I had been approved for financing and had paid first and last payments.

Waited months for refund and only received a check after hiring an attorney. Stay away from this crooked company!

AI Highlights
  • - They're approved, then bill a documentation fee and first month's payment.
  • - Canceling after no response, they keep the doc fee and charge 2%.

Very unethical company. They'll tell you you're approved and then ask for a "Documentation" fee and 1st months payment, which by the way is commonplace, but they know that so they use it to bait you. If you request to cancel the process because they don't respond to your emails, phone calls, or voicemails, then they'll keep the doc fee and charge you 2% percent of the equipment. It's a very clever ***, especially since they tell you you're approved upfront and charge a doc fee. It all seems legitimate and fair, until they never call or write to you without your relentless pursuit.

Full disclosure: I'm currently trying to figure out if they're going to take me for $3,000 on this "approved" deal. I was told on a Thursday that they'd have my deal wrapped up next Monday or Tuesday. That was 3 weeks ago. I have to threaten a visit to their office to get a half-assed and entirely vague response.

ACG: I know A LOT of sites to post this story, and I think I'm going to just copy and paste. I think I'll include a visit to the website of Califronia's Attorney General. I might even contact a Producer friend of mine at Fox News. They're always looking for good stories.

Reason of review:
Poor customer service

I'm a large printer/copier dealer and service company with the southeast being my territory and I've been interested in working with Quickset Financial Group.

Bottom line the steal your money.

AI Highlights
  • - A commitment letter with documentation fees and a 2% cancellation fee is required.
  • - The 2% fee is based on the requested amount, not the approved value.

ACG-American Capital group prides themselves in wanting to help small business with their equipment leasing, but not before you sign a commitment letter with agreeing to pay documentation fees and 2% of your equipment cost in the event you want to cancel. What the company fails to explain is that they ask you how much you need without even running your credit, and that's what they base their 2% fee on.

We need it about 40k and they only approved us for 12k but then say that they are taking 2% of the 40k. Their commitment letter clearly states that the 2% is of the equipment value.

Their explanation for not honoring this is that the incompetent account manager we had never sent us a revised commitment letter. This company is supposed to help small business but instead they steal and lie to them.

They need to be brought down. I cannot believe they can continue to con small business owners that don't have the means to fight back!
